:File:Cobblestone textures.png

How did you made these 4 cobblestone blocks have textures of different versions? --Naista2002, now NickTheRed37 (talk) 14:51, 3 January 2015 (UTC)

Use a resource pack. –LauraFi - talk 16:08, 3 January 2015 (UTC)

Tagging "incorrect" edits

I saw you just reverted my edits on Pocket Edition version history. They were not incorrect, the "Nether Quartz" thing isn't a PC future feature because they were implemented in 1.5, neither they are the render distance thing, the change-the-mob-spawner-with-spawn-egg thing and the flint and steel making creepers explode thing. The 512-block render distance thing and the change-the-mob-spawner-with-spawn-egg thing were implemented in 1.8, and the flint and steel making creepers explode thing was implemented about in 1.6.1 or 1.7.2 if I remember well. --ToonLucas22 (talk) 02:06, 7 January 2015 (UTC)

The "PC future feature" means that it was implemented first on Pocket Edition, then on PC edition. –LauraFi - talk 02:11, 7 January 2015 (UTC)
What about the stone type things? NickTheRed37 removed the "PC future feature" thing and nobody did anything. Though you may wish to change "PC future feature" to "PC late feature", because people can be mislead otherwise and get confused. --ToonLucas22 (talk) 02:24, 7 January 2015 (UTC)
I removed that probably because it was unnecessary. --Nick the Red37 — ru.wiki moderator (talk) 07:33, 7 January 2015 (UTC)

Glowstone Dust

Sorry for that typo on Glowstone Dust, I pressed a wrong key to end a link and didn’t notice it. Nick the Red37 — ru.wiki moderator (talk) 14:17, 15 January 2015 (UTC)

Spawning mobs with spawn eggs

For the most part, we have not been listing spawn eggs as a spawning method, as it applies to nearly every mob and they are not available in survival (see MCW:Style guide#Obtaining). It would be just about the same as stating "The mob can be spawned using commands and custom spawners".

KnightMiner (t·c) 19:57, 19 January 2015 (UTC)

But that info should be mentioned in articles (in trivia?). –LauraFi - talk 18:12, 20 January 2015 (UTC)
Almost all mobs can be spawned with a spawn egg. Exceptions are jockeys of all kinds, golems, withers, and ender dragons. It is better to state that a mob cannot be spawned with a spawn egg, or they are spawned with a spawn egg not like other mobs (like in case of wither skeletons). I’m Nick the Red37, a ru.wiki mod f.k.a. Naista2002 18:49, 20 January 2015 (UTC)
(edit conflict)I would go based on the standard behavior rule, basically if all mobs do it for the most part, only state exceptions, as that behavior is expected. KnightMiner (t·c) 18:59, 20 January 2015 (UTC)

Crafting grids

Re this edit. This:

{{Crafting
|A1=Glass |B1=Glass |C1=Glass
|A2=Nether Quartz |B2=Nether Quartz |C2=Nether Quartz
|A3=Any Wood Slab |B3=Any Wood Slab |C3=Any Wood Slab
|Output=Daylight Sensor
|type=Redstone
}}
is shorter (in the edit window) and causes less confusion than

{{Crafting |A1=Glass |B1=Glass |C1=Glass |A2=Nether Quartz |B2=Nether Quartz |C2=Nether Quartz |A3=Any Wood Slab |B3=Any Wood Slab |C3=Any Wood Slab |Output=Daylight Sensor |type=Redstone }}

Because if we set the {{Crafting}} transclusion to be in 2D format, it is easier to see which ingredient is where, easier than learning that “letter determines the column, number determines the row” metaphor. So don’t hesitate to correct that among other minor fixes. I’m Nick the Red37, f.k.a. Naista2002 15:20, 28 January 2015 (UTC)

Paddles

You recently edited the talk page for pocket edition mentioned features saying that paddles have not appeared yet. However, boats are finished, so why do you say no?71.35.109.25 22:07, 21 February 2015 (UTC)

While paddles have appeared in developer tweets, they have not appeared in a development build, thus any information not directly stated or shown is speculation. KnightMiner (t·c) 22:11, 21 February 2015 (UTC)

Why unneeded?

I notice you undid my edit for nether portal blocks. Why?71.35.109.25 21:28, 22 February 2015 (UTC)

Who would go to nether portal if he/she is looking for obsidian? –LauraFi - talk 21:34, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
If they want to know about the block used to make the portal, but do not know that the block for this is obsidian.71.35.109.25 04:27, 24 February 2015 (UTC)
That would be improper usage of {{about}}. That template is only to be used in the case of a similar title, and no one refers to obsidian as "nether portal". If they want to know about the block that makes the nether portal frame, they can read Nether Portal. KnightMiner t/c 14:08, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

Deleting redirects moved to make way for move

When them for deletion, please add a summary to the {{Delete}} call, like {{Delete|Redirect moved to make way for move}}. Thanks for attention. P. S. please don’t remove the user talk link from undo summaries. — Agent Nick the Red37 (talk · contribs) f.k.a. Naista2002 16:24, 23 February 2015 (UTC)

Reverting moves

Generally, avoid reverting an edit more than three times, even if it is vandalism or against consensus. In the case of the vandalism, wait for the user to be blocked (and report if needed). In the case of actions against consensus, try telling the user via a talk page message, and let them know repeated action against consensus could be considered vandalism. KnightMiner t/c 14:51, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

Re: Special:Diff/814048

I wanted to do a multi-revert, but I accidentally clicked a wrong “cur” link (so I compared the vandal’s first edit with his last one instead of pre-vandal revision) and did not notice it until editing the summary. I did continue anyway since I wanted to get all vandalism reverted by myself (retrying would take some time which would be enough for some other user to revert the first edit). :) — NickTheRed37 t/c (f.k.a. Naista2002) 17:39, 20 March 2015 (UTC)

Sub-page links

You can strip the leading / by adding an / after the page name. For example, {{static link|/Archive 1/}} gives /Archive 1/. — NickTheRed37 t/c (f.k.a. Naista2002) 13:47, 21 March 2015 (UTC)

Reverting

Why is everyone reverting my changes for no reason both on minecraft wiki and regular wikipedia :( SuperCofee (talk) 21:29, 23 March 2015 (UTC)

I don't know about on wikipedia, but here your edits have mainly been adding opinion, speculation, or content against the MCW:Style guide to articles. If you want your edits to remain, make constructive edits. KnightMiner t/c 21:35, 23 March 2015 (UTC)
For no reason? The edit summary was "Bad trivia" –LauraFi - talk 23:17, 23 March 2015 (UTC)

Editing user pages

You edited my user page. Please do not edit someone else's user page without the user's permission.
~From Contrapple Grid Empty Map 00:50, 25 March 2015 (UTC)

Yes, I removed the categories because per a discussion (MCT:Community portal/Archive 15#Usage of categories) they shouldn't be used in userpages. –LauraFi - talk 00:59, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
It was a project that will eventually replace the page "obsidian". They should be there. I will make a page for proposing changes to my user pages.
~From Contrapple Grid Empty Map 01:31, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
  1. Why without permission? Minor constructive edits to other users' pages are still permitted (exceptions are drafts of pages, where you can make bigger edits) without explicit permission, and are reverted for other reasons.
  2. To turn a category off without completely deleting it, add a colon (:) right before “Category:”, or just hide it within a HTML comment <!-- -->.
— NickTheRed37 t/c (f.k.a. Naista2002) 06:18, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
I created a page called User:Contrapple/Change Proposal where you can propose changes.
~From Contrapple Grid Empty Map 14:43, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
“... where you can propose changes” – Contrapple, please see my post above. If you disagree with a change, you can just revert it. — NickTheRed37 t/c (f.k.a. Naista2002) 15:01, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
I'm not aware of any discussion where the consensus was that it's okay to make content edits to other users' pages without their permission. That may be how you do things on the Russian wiki, but not here. -- Orthotopetalk 15:20, 25 March 2015 (UTC)

Archive boxes

As per user talk:KnightMiner#Archive boxes, it is better to use ordered lists in archive boxes. Also, it can be better to use an en dash (–) over a hyphen (-) in ranges. Thanks for attention. — NickTheRed37 t/c (f.k.a. Naista2002) 14:18, 31 March 2015 (UTC)
