Why do you revert admin noticeboard?

Why are you treating us like this? Do IP users not have the same rights as registered users? Why isn't some of those registered vandalizers blocked but us innocent IP users? Or do you think I'm just spamming on admin noticeboard? 217.138.207.233 15:40, 12 April 2020 (UTC)

The IP in question was vandalizing, and VPNs could be used; look at the edits, they were disruptive. Actually question someone become assuming innocence. FVbico (talk) 15:56, 12 April 2020 (UTC)
The last sentence makes no sense. 217.138.207.233 09:33, 13 April 2020 (UTC)
Your right, lol, the last sentence makes 0 sense, lol 109.156.33.167 17:32, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
If someone is blocked from editing it is ALWAYS with a reason, they did not "do nothing", as I said, question someone (who is being acted upon) before assuming innocence. FVbico (talk) 17:37, 16 April 2020 (UTC)

Re the comment on my user profile

Hi! I got an alert but somehow, I can't see whatever comment you may have left. If it was important, let me know! – Sealbudsman talk | contribs 20:43, 13 April 2020 (UTC)

It was a question about an edit, but after looking again, I realized I missed an important part that answers the question. FVbico (talk) 20:45, 13 April 2020 (UTC)

New additions in inventory form.

Greetings, I noticed you reverted my New Additions in the form of an generic inventory. I saw this first as an image in the Java Edition 1.16 page, I thought it was neat, but after a while someone modified it to use Template:FakeImage and Template:Inventory and added it to the 1.15 and 1.14 pages. That's where I saw the real potential of this, a simple showcase of all the new features you could click and go to it's page. So I started adding them to all previous versions. Now to my surprise you claim that this feature is redundant, that it isn't mobile friendly (checked on my old Iphone 6 and it works perfectly fine for me), and that it should be discussed, but I don't find a discussion page for it. In my opinion it places the new features front and center, and for more info you just need to scroll down to see the specifics for that version of the game. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 85.247.222.38 (talk) at 18:46, 16 April 2020 (UTC). On my phone, at least, it was partially off screen. I brought it up on the discord, and there were already several different opinions about it, so best to first discuss it at Minecraft Wiki talk:Community portal. FVbico (talk)
Yes, there is a vote on Minecraft Wiki talk:Community portal#List_of_all_additions_on_Java_Edition_pages_(1.12_-_1.16).

Minecraft wiki logo help.

On Most pages the wiki logo is normal but on Minecraft dungeons pages it says Minecraft dungeons wiki. could you make a Variant for the Minecraft earth pages as it could really help my Minecraft earth wiki project.--Minecraft loot (talk) 02:28, 26 April 2020 (UTC)

Minecraft Dungeons is a separate part of the wiki, so it gets its own logo, whereas Earth pages are documented in mainspace normally, so it doesn't.  Nixinova T  C  02:31, 26 April 2020 (UTC)

why isn't the earth pages a separate part of the wiki since it is a different game.--Minecraft loot (talk) 02:28, 26 April 2020 (UTC)

We had a discussion about this and that was the conclusion. However, it was somewhat shakey, so you could open a new topic on the Community Portal to discuss it if you wish. -PancakeIdentity (talk) 02:44, 26 April 2020 (UTC)

{{Sound table}}

I have modified {{sound table}} in order to fix the cite error in e.g. tropical fish. Please fix that page (and many others) directly if modifying the template is not the correct way to fix it.

If you have time, could you also take a look at chest loot and the corresponding template/Lua module? Currently it is not working correctly. --218.254.154.6 06:19, 2 May 2020 (UTC)

Fixed tropical fish, will look for the other pages in a moment. FVbico (talk) 06:22, 2 May 2020 (UTC)
I did exactly the same fix but if you look at the history my edits kept being reverted by another registered user, which made me think that it was not the correct way to fix it and that's why I headed over to the template. --218.254.154.6 06:27, 2 May 2020 (UTC)
I changed the bug link to a Mojira query instead, which is what I proposed to that user a couple days ago. This should stop reverts as it is no longer "the wrong report". FVbico (talk) 06:41, 2 May 2020 (UTC)
I added one more thing: if sound is now set to -, the subtitle and translationkey fields will be set to have a different note. This should solve further conflict altogether. CC: User-12316399. FVbico (talk) 06:55, 2 May 2020 (UTC)

permission to delete pages (if possible).

Hello FVbico, I need help. There are some redirects and page copies I want to delete, but all I can do is blank the page. Is it possible to give me the ability to delete pages even though I am not an admin, and if it is can you give me access.--Minecraft loot (talk) 07:02, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

No, deletion permission is only available to administrators. Besides, you should use {{delete}} template to mark the page to be deleted instead of blanking them. --Hatsuki kiriT〕 07:10, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

Re: options.txt

Hey, it's been near 3 months but just noticed that you rolled back my edit and then reapplied it yourself? Is there any good reason for this? Thanks.

Imtilda (talk) 12:09, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

You added a bunch of nowiki html tags, this broke things. FVbico (talk) 12:11, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

Optimalization

Sorry for optimalizating fotos. I didn't realize that it degrades quality

Downscaling is not optimizing. FVbico (talk) 10:19, 27 May 2020 (UTC)

Datapack dimension difficulties

I've been trying to add dimensions via datapacks in the manner described in Custom dimension. I've been having difficulty and haven't been able to find links to anyone successfully doing this online (the working examples I've found have been via importing custom world creation settings).

Can you provide links to the references that say this can be done via datapacks (ideally adding those references to the Custom dimension article)? It will make debugging much easier if I can take apart someone else's working code.

--107.142.102.195 03:03, 4 July 2020 (UTC)

1. Make sure the folder structure is data/minecraft/dimension/NAMESPACE/ID
2. Dimensions are only added, removed and modified when the world starts up, not on /reload or /datapack commands.
I don't know if there's videos out there, but I managed to add them myself just fine. FVbico (talk) 07:03, 4 July 2020 (UTC)
For point 1, you can safely assume that if something was documented at Custom dimension, I did it.
Point 2 really should be in the article, ideally in the introduction.
Per my original request, please post a minimal working example if you've actually done this. Saying "it works for me" doesn't help me debug. Saying "a file with this exact contents in this directory works", helps me find what I did wrong.
In a perfect world, Minecraft would have a debug log where it tells me what it didn't like about my datapacks, but if that exists I haven't been able to find it (just the launcher log and a pretty sparse "latest.log" file).

I literally just followed the format on the wiki. If you actually have a similar file, following the data, and it doesn't load, check if your data pack is even enabled; then it's not an issue with the dimensions. FVbico (talk) 15:06, 4 July 2020 (UTC)
Thank you for the example, and for editing Custom dimension. I managed to debug my datapack based on the one-line messages in "logs/latest.log"; Minecraft was objecting to several small things that the specification was ambiguous about. It's probably worth copying your example to the article, as it will help people like me who run into similar issues. Once I've finished tinkering with my own test cases, I may add additional information to the article as well (or to the talk page if I'm uncertain about anything).
The main things I encountered this morning were "dimension type does need to be explicitly namespaced" and "Minecraft does not like in-line dimension types of the sort used with custom worlds" (rather than having a separate file in "dimension_type"). I'll have to go over my notes to get the full list of things that tripped me up over the last couple of days. --107.142.102.195 15:21, 4 July 2020 (UTC)
