This template is used to create inline maintenance tags.

• It may be used directly, as in the following:

Example.{{tag|this text is tagged for review}} → Example.^{[this text is tagged for review]}

If used directly on a page, the page is added to: Category:Pages using a raw Tag Template.

• It may also be used to create more specific tag templates, which may each have corresponding maintenance categories.

Any such template is added to Category:Inline templates.
