Information Your account has been blocked from editing for a period of {{{1}}}. Your block log can be found here. If you think the block was made as a mistake and/or you think there are good reasons for you to be unblocked, you may discuss the block with administrators on your talk page here. However, if this is abused, your talk page access may be revoked as well. While you are blocked, please do not create any new accounts to edit with – this is called sock puppetry and in most cases, all accounts that were created by a registered account which is blocked, will be blocked indefinitely. Once this block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. Thank you. ~~~~

[view | edit | history | purge]Documentation

This template can be used to notify a user who has been blocked. This template doesn't have to be used any time a user is blocked, but it is often helpful for them if they're notified and provided with information about what they can and can't do.

Note: Only administrators can block users, simply placing this template on a non-blocked user's talk page does not block the user from editing.

Usage[]

Parameters[]

{{{IP}}} - When this is set to anything (e.g, IP=y), the text will display as if the block was for an IP rather than a registered account. Specifically, "This account has been blocked" will be changed to "This IP has been blocked."
{{{1}}} - Specifies the time the user is blocked for. Examples of how it should be formatting include "2 hours," "1 week," "3 months," or "indefinitely."
{{{2}}} - Specifies a short reason for the block, such as "Vandalism" or "Sockpuppetry."
{{{3}}} - Allows for a custom message longer than the reason - multiple sentences can be used for this parameter if needed. For simple blocks, such as blatant vandalism, this parameter probably won't be necessary, but it's useful if the blocking admin wants to give an in-depth explanation.
