Question[]

How can I convert a level with the Old world type into an Infinte world? - MinecraftPhotos4U (talk) 21:19, 4 August 2015 (UTC)

On the world selection menu, tap the edit button next to the old world and tap "Make Infinite!".

Wolf has made a proposal for spltting this page:

Reason: "This page should be split into Old (pre 0.9.0) and Old (post 0.9.0) because they are technically different world types as they have very different biomes and generation"

Oppose - Biomes and generation do not matter in this case. -BDJP (t|c) 02:52, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
Oppose as per the style guide: there simply isn't enough content for two separate articles, particularly the pre-0.9 world type. Even if it could be significantly expanded, the 'before 0.9.0' section seems to me to be an extension of the history section; removed features usually don't have their own article. -- Orthotopetalk 03:25, 23 November 2015 (UTC)

Past tense?[]

The opening paragraph says "Old was a world type...," and the History section also shows that it was removed in 0.16.0 build 1. However, when loading the game on my phone, running Android and the Android release of the full 0.16.0, Old is still very much there as a selectable world type. Was the removal only a temporary change? --Chungyn (talk) 14:31, 1 November 2016 (UTC)

That is a good point, it does look like they added it back in build 5 (see Fixes section of that page). I updated this article to match, and removed the mention in the history section, since there's a style guide rule against recording bugs that only happened in builds. – Sealbudsman talk/contr 17:02, 1 November 2016 (UTC)

maybe you should help me with this...[]

in the history it said "1.2.0 beta 1.2.0.2 Old worlds are no longer surrounded by invisible bedrock, and chunks near the border are glitched." what happened? what are they made of now? how are they glitched? please help me with this. --173.180.201.172 17:52, 25 May 2019 (UTC)

Invisible bedrock was a technical block that no longer exists in the game. Old worlds aren't surrounded by anything, or you could equivalently say they're surrounded by the void. The difference is basically just technical. There are a couple of bugs relating to chunks adjacent to the border, but I wasn't aware that they were this old, so I'm not sure if they're what's meant by the glitches. Redstone doesn't work in these chunks, and on two sides of the world (I think it's the north and west sides) you can't jump a full block height in them. – Auldrick (talk · contribs) 05:34, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
