Creative should not redirect to Classic.

"Classic" refers to a now outdated version of Creative mode, and Creative refers to an as-of-yet unreleased version that will be based off of /game/.

indev is also outdated

I though about how this should be re-arranged today, and came up with these five articles that should be kept updated:

• Survival
• Classic (also known as Creative, for now)
• Indev
• Infdev
• Beta

Is the "Advantages of Pre-Purchasing" Section needed?

Better Classic screenshot?

In the same way for Alpha screenshot, the screenshot of Classic don't represent the gameplay of classic game mode. I think it should be changed. --DjDCH 20:00, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

Someone put a bunch of stuff under trivia, which some of it is wrong, some is irrelevant, and some is just plain ???. Am I the only one that sees this?

Saving Bug?

What happened to the line about the bug that says that saving and loading are not functional? Perhaps it's just me, since I haven't purchased the Beta, but I am also not able to save or load Classic maps stored on my computer. I would like to request that somebody find out whether or not people who have purchased the Beta can save and load Classic maps stored on their computer. Classic Sound will never be back?

since 1.8 came out classic lost its resource files. I don't know if they will be replanted in classic or not.

Java 7 breaks multiplayer in classic?

I installed latest Java 7, premium worked just fine, but trying to enter classic server caused "server is down?" error.

Googling this showed that everyone had problems with running classic multiplayer.

It has something with IPv4 broken in Java 7

Is it safe to play on the website?

Playing on minecraft.net is safe. Since you're getting a digital signature error, you're probably trying to play an illegally cracked version, which may or may not be safe; there's no way to tell. -- Orthotope 18:58, 15 July 2012 (UTC)

• It is fine to play, you get this issue with classic because Mojang didn't bother to update the certificate. Just say yes to all the things. Pokechu22 19:28, 1 October 2012 (UTC)

Easier said than done; downloading older Java versions (such as JSE 6) requires you make an account with Oracle, for some reason. This requires an e-mail, phone number and address. Classic is removed now

Minecraft Classic isn't playable anymore. They've removed it...:

Minecraft Classic is a several years old version of Minecraft and is no longer supported, nor is it being worked on.

If you want to have a go at the real thing you should try the free Minecraft demo.

EDIT 2: Minecraft's site put the links back but, you have to click "Minecraft Classic" in the message "Looking for Minecraft Classic?" Then once you get to the page go down until you see this message "I want to play the old Minecraft Classic: singleplayer | multiplayer" on that message either click "singleplayer" or "multiplayer". Neutrality

I don't think there should be a section where it states the advantages of buying the game. Then the article would kinda not be very neutral. In this case, I recommend removing it since some people, like I do sometimes, like Classic better than the paid version. Add link to Minecraft Demo in the "See Also" section?

I think that there should be a link to the Minecraft demo page (www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Demo) in the "See Also" section as it is another version of Minecraft like all the other links and it is similar to Minecraft Classic as it is also free. Christopherbikie 09:26, 1 June 2013 (UTC)

Mention ClassiCube in Classic page

I would like to request a few words about Classicube in the Classic wiki page.

Players would benefit knowing the reincarnation of Classic, I know ClassiCube is not strictly related to Minecraft, but it improves Classic and makes it useful again, contrary to what the following statement says about it: "It later became completely obsolete when Creative was added to Beta in 1.8." Classicube offers certain advantages over Creative Mode in Minecraft full, which are:

1. Better movement options: Fly, Noclip, bindable commands.
2. Server software offer flexibility and commands better than even modern plugins (see Classic fCraft/LegendCraft vs. MC plugin WorldEdit).
3. More blocks than creative, some of which are unique to CC.
4. CPE, an extension to classic, that allows a ton of new features, like skins etc.

This isn't meant to be an advertisement to CC, but only as a request of pointing potential Classic players towards an useful improvement. Now that real Classic is gone, it would be useful to have at least a one-sentence note about ClassiCube, so people know there is still a full version of classic available for them to play, either if they never got a chance to play it while it was up, or if they want to play it. The version on the website is not a full clone of classic, probably isn't even based off original classic, does not offer the original server structure, and you can not host servers on it with original classic server software. It isn't even really necessary to mention any of the new features. 98.156.232.208 23:44, 30 August 2019 (UTC)

As an additional note, I would like to mention that TNT Wars, Lava Survival, Zombie Survival, and Capture the flag are all still available to play in CC, and many of the servers in CC were in original classic before it was removed. 98.156.232.208 23:49, 30 August 2019 (UTC)

Keep this page for historical purpose?

This page refers to an outdated game mode. My idea is to keep it for historical purpose and add link to it on page for removed features.

"Minecraft Classic 0.0.14a_01"

When searching the title above on Google, there was two links I found out of the bunch that has a list of Minecraft versions dating all the way back to Pre-Classic/Classic. Searching for it also gave search results on about how to find Gold Ore and gave others on that Gold Ore, Iron Ore and Coal Ore was added into the game in that version; suggesting those 3 ores were added into the game with that specific version, unless I'm wrong. Not saying that this should be a reliable source, although I kinda am, just found something interesting via the Google search engine.
