Swords still block[]

Mojang clearly stated that in 1.9 swords would no longer block but in this snapshot they do. I am guessing that Mojang didn't have time to finish it because it wouldn't make any sense if they kept it in the game. JJC127 (talk) 19:16, 29 July 2015 (UTC)

They didn't have time to add it in 15w31a, but it will be in 1.9. We just don't know what snapshot it will be added in though. --MarioProtIV (talk) 19:28, 29 July 2015 (UTC)
I think blocking will remain until shields are added--76.216.217.231 02:19, 31 July 2015 (UTC)

New blocks... any ideas?[]

So we've seen a good number of new blocks for 1.9.

Just wondering if anyone knows the identity and data values of blocks 202 & 207? –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.138.38.82 (talk) at 22:08, 31 July 2015‎ (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

You mean what blocks that those numbers, and how do you /give them? See Data values#Block IDs KnightMiner t/c 03:40, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
I think you'll find that the information I mentioned is not listed here on the Minecraft Wiki, and certainly not at the location you provided. Moving forward, please ensure the links you provide are actually relevant in a direct manner, rather than irrelevant as a result of negligence and/or failure to read the question.
Just to be clear, I am very well aware of how to find data values for different block types. There are resources vast and numerous that are all easy to find. None that I have seen have information on what will be assigned to blocks 202 and 207. I'm not looking for a method of finding this information, I'm looking for the information itself. If you cannot contribute exactly this, please reserve your comments for other threads. 24.138.38.82 05:18, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
Blocks 202 and 207 are documented on the data values page KnightMiner linked to. If that's not the information you're looking for, you need to restate your request more clearly. And watch your tone: being rude to people who are trying to help you is uncalled for. -- Orthotopetalk 05:48, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
Perhaps I should be more clear. The resource in question incorrectly lists Grass Path as block 207; Grass Path is block 208. Additionally, I see that since my original thread, the Purpur Pillar article has been updated to include that both 201:1 and 202:0 can represent the Purpur Pillar — so, one mystery down, one to go.
To be specific, what is the name of block 207? –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.138.38.82 (talk) at 6:06, 01 August 2015 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
Grass path and beetroot had been swapped by whoever added them to the page; 207 is beetroot. I don't see anything on Purpur Block about data value 201:1 ; that looks to me like a non-existent data value for the Purpur Block, not the pillar block. How important are the numeric IDs at this point? They don't seem to be used in-game anymore. -- Orthotopetalk 07:39, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
Thanks very much for clearing that up with 207/208. The pillar being in 201:1 was an assumption — Purpur Pillar was listed as being in block 201 on this wiki (as was Purpur Block); as well, Quartz Pillar is a data value within the Quartz Block 155. Based on your information, I'm guessing the Pillar listed as 201 was just a mistake. As to your last question, I need the information for a program I wrote; I'm updating it for 1.9.
Has anyone seen any blocks assigned values higher than 208 yet (except Structure Block @255)? –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.138.38.82 (talk) at 16:49, 01 August 2015 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
If you read the page I linked, the end gateway is 209. Other than that, all other values up to 254 are unused (since there are no other blocks left to fill the gap, as can be seen in the debug world) KnightMiner t/c 18:17, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
