Growth rate[]

After some testing, the growth rate of once every 2-4 minutes seems to be false. Can somebody look at the code and figure out the actual rate? –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 84.185.3.145 (talk) at 19:26, 15 January 2016 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

I've also had problems: left a cactus on sand, with no adjacent blocks horizontally, diagonally, or vertically, for half an hour. Looked at it in debug mode: age 0. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 73.17.213.32 (talk) at 9:07, 24 February 2016 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

I'm not sure how to stylize the edit properly, but as of 1.14 mobs do clearly avoid cactus, making a wall of it far less useful. 96.59.186.8 21:29, 28 May 2019 (UTC)

Smelting ingredient[]

Can someone add that it gives 1 XP point per item smelted/ cooked? --Clonemonkey (talk) 02:21, 27 July 2019 (UTC)

Destroyed items?[]

About this: https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Cactus?diff=next&oldid=2001158 Is there confusion about the difference of ITEMS and BLOCKS? Could it be written more clearly? Cactus dropped as ITEMS are destroyed right? /188.150.209.166 10:11, 7 August 2021 (UTC)

No confusion. Cactus BLOCKS are not destroyed when dropping on a cactus. Other blocks (like sand) are destroyed when falling on a cactus. Cactus ITEMS are destroyed when dropped on a cactus. The sentence is correct in saying that it excludes cactus blocks. But yes, it could be stated better. Amatulic (talk) 19:16, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
I modified the paragraph to clarify the distinction. Amatulic (talk) 21:19, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
Tnx, much bettet i think. Could even the last sentence in that paragraph be removed now? /188.150.209.166 07:44, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
Well, I've observed when I hold a cactus and drop it as an item on the ground, the cactus item disappears. Amatulic (talk) 05:32, 10 August 2021 (UTC)
