Java Edition Alpha v1.2.0 (preview)

This version is currently missing.

While this version is known to exist, it is missing from the launcher and has not been archived elsewhere, meaning that it is currently lost.

A special pre-release version of Alpha v1.2.0 was specially given to PC Gamer and Indiegames as a preview version.^[1] Multiple differences between this preview and the officially-released Alpha v1.2.0 can be seen in the released footage.

Differences from Alpha v1.2.0

The Nether
- Referred to as the Slip

Zombie Pigman
- Has the original blood texture, instead of the slime/decay.^[2]
- Runs around making pig noises, and is making zombie noises when hurt.
- They don't have their arms up like a Zombie, and they are not wielding a sword either.

Glowstone
- Drops itself instead of a glowstone dust.

Ghast
- Does not have any sound effects.

Trivia

On the same day of the release of the preview, Minecraft hit 500,000 sales.
