Apples are food items that can be eaten by the player.

ObtainingEdit

TreesEdit

Oak and dark oak leaves have 0.5% (1200) chance of dropping an apple when decayed or broken. This amounts to approximately 25% chance to get an apple from an oak tree and 60% chance from a dark oak tree. Breaking leaves with a tool enchanted with the fortune enchantment will increase the chances of dropping an apple: 0.556% (1180) with Fortune I, 0.625% (1160) with Fortune II, and 0.833% (1120) with Fortune III.

Natural generationEdit

Apples can be found in 61.6% of village blacksmith chests, 74.3% of igloo chests, 33.7% of stronghold altar chests, and 50.0% of stronghold storeroom chests, all in stacks of 1–3; and in 83.8% of bonus chests in stacks of 1–2.

TradingEdit

Villager farmers offer to sell apples in exchange for emeralds. 5–7 apples can be bought per emerald as one of their third tier trades.

HistoryEdit

Indev
January 11, 2010   Added apples. When Indev was still new, apples were items brought in to replace brown mushrooms to heal health. The player would spawn in an Indev House by a chest containing 99 apples and other tools. In later updates, the chests inside the house were removed (and eventually the house itself), making apples impossible to obtain.
Infdev
