This is not an official version history or changelog. For the official list, please visit the 4JStudios' forum threads for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Wii U or Nintendo Switch Editions, the Minecraft website, the Mojang website or the Microsoft Studios website.

The following list is organized by the release version and cycle equivalent to the PC version. A ? denotes that a version's info here is guess-work, possibly incorrect. Known bugs are listed here.
Note:

  • TU stands for Title Update used for Xbox 360
  • CU stands for Content Update used for Xbox One
  • Patch used for PS3, PS4, PSVita, Wii U, and Nintendo Switch (can add features)

From April to June 2017, the PlayStation 4 Edition used even version numbers while the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita Editions used odd version numbers.

  • Added Glide Myths Track Pack; Drift through the clouds of Icarus, dive into conflict in Excalibur, and ride with the Kelpies in Celts.
  • Added "Strangers - Biome Settlers 3" Skin Pack.
  • Endermen and Endermites should always be hostile to each other.
  • Polar Bears should not attack the player when in peaceful mode.
  • Wither Skeletons no longer fear daylight, and will attack anything that lives.
  • Zombie Horses and Skeleton Horses can now be tamed and leashed.

  • Observers should register changes to Flower Pots.
  • Observers should not output extra signals for fire block state changes.
  • Observers should not output multiple signals when lava or water is place in front of them.
  • Pistons can now push Daylight Sensors.
  • Potion durations have changed.

  • Enable transferring saves to Nintendo Switch Edition. (Wii U only)

  • World generation
    • The End has changed when generating a new world, and can also be updated for old worlds. To get the new End in an old world, select "Reset End" in the "More Options" menu when loading the world.
    • After killing the ender dragon in the new End, an end gateway will spawn nearby. Throwing an ender pearl into this will teleport you to a new area in the End with an end city and end ship.
    • Within the End City and End Ship you can find shulkers, elytra, and a dragon head.
    • Villages now generate naturally in the Taiga biome.

    • Boats are now controlled differently and can have multiple passengers.

      • On using the quickselect bar, the opacity of the quickselect, tooltips, splitscreen gamertag display, and crosshair will be set to 80, and will fade back down to the user opacity setting after 6 seconds of no quickselect bar use.
