This page contains content on features that may be included in the next update.
These features have appeared in development versions, but the full update containing these features has not been released yet.

Weeping vines are plant blocks found in the Nether.

Natural generation[edit]

Weeping vines generate naturally on huge crimson fungi in the crimson forest biome.

Huge fungi grown by using bone meal on a crimson fungus will also have weeping vines growing on it.

Growth[edit]

Each random tick, weeping vines have a 10% chance of growing one block downwards. At default random tick speed, each plant grows approximately every 13653 game ticks (11.3775 minutes). Weeping vines will stop growing once they hit the ground or when the block reaches an age block state of 25, whichever is first.

Obtaining[edit]

Weeping vines can be mined instantly with any tool.

Usage[edit]

Weeping vines can be placed on the bottom of a block and will then grow. The bottom-most vine block will always have a block ID of weeping_vines and have an age block state with a starting value of 0 which increments every time the block grows. All blocks above the bottom-most vine have a block ID of weeping_vines_plant and do not have an age block state. If the bottom-most vine block has an age below 25, it will continue to grow given that there is free space below the vine. When the vine does grow, the bottom-most vine block, which has a block ID of weeping_vines and an age block state, turns into a weeping_vines_plant (with no block state) while a new weeping_vines block with an incremented age is placed beneath it.

Weeping vines can be climbed by standing next to them and holding the jump key. If there is a solid block behind the weeping vines, the walk forward key can also be used.
