I see my signature has caught on[edit]

I've seen three users (including you) that have seemingly copied some of the source code of my previous signature, Meeples10t ~ c. It's nice to know that people think my creations are worthy of copying. Meeples10t ~ c 21:53, 22 January 2014 (UTC)

:D Yes, I copied the font and the color. I confess --tonkku107 «Talk

I don't mind. I think of it as a silent way of others thinking my work is worth something. Meeples10t ~ c 22:28, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

Your signature contains a template which needs to be subst. MattTalk

I made it to be a template, is it bad? --tonkku107 «Talk

Templates aren't allowed in signatures unless they're subst. MattTalk

Minecraft Wiki:Wiki Rules#22 - "Signatures should not use templates unless the template is always substituted, as long as the resulting code is no longer than 250 characters." Meeples10t ~ c 21:20, 24 January 2014 (UTC)

Thaumcraft pages[edit]

My changes to the WIP pages were because I realized that the base "wip" template is telling people not to edit it, and we want as many people contributing as possible. (We have enough trouble with that %*#@^ disclaimer.) I then realized that there's also a WIPNeedHelp template, so I'm switching over to that. (And yes, other people will eventually get involved.) As far as "finished" -- it's a Wiki, so it's always going to be subject to editing. I'm concerned here with the messages "don't edit this page" versus "needs your help".

Regarding the "Items" page -- This is a big mod -- our goal here needs to be putting basic info up first. Once we have enough (including images) to make all the individual item and mob pages, then we can have "lists of pages" beyond the mod's root page. Until then, we still need someplace to put them, and "roundup" pages let us get key information up without having to finish the entries for each item and mob (which would be pretty sparse as yet). --MentalMouse42 (talk) 16:10, 29 January 2014 (UTC)

OK, what's wrong with having the crucible recipes? --MentalMouse42 (talk) 16:35, 31 January 2014 (UTC)

It doesn't belong there. You should make an article for each item, just like i'm doing the caps --tonkku107 «Talk

Well, here's the thing. Firstly, it's better to have the information on the website lumped into one page, than it is to not have the information at all. Secondly, it's a lot more work to make a dozen-odd item pages with screenshots, than it is to make one page. Thirdly, this is a wiki where pages are the collective result of several people's work. If you want to get them finished before 4.1 comes out, you need other people helping. Now, I decided to help out, because I like Thaumcraft, and I've been spending my own free time on the work. And you've effectively been telling me "if you don't do full pages for individual items, I don't want your help". Do you see the problem here? --MentalMouse42 (talk) 17:25, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
I do, but, the problem is, we can't list every crucible recipe on a single page with other info. It's not good. However, I haven't seen anyone else editing much, and do you have a proof of 4.1 coming soon? Anyway, you can undo my revert. I'll start making the small pages. --tonkku107 «Talk

There was a bit of chat on the FTB forum about "things added to Thaumcraft and Tinkerer". I may have gotten confused, but in any case, 4.1 will be coming eventually. As far as "can't list every crucible recipe..." Why not? Smelting has full info on fuels, Crafting has links to all the recipes, and so on. So we'd want something of the sort even after we have the item pages. More to the point, consider there are already at least two online copies of the Thaumonomicon. For these pages to be useful, they shouldn't just copy that, but should add info, stuff like roundups of recipes and tips. I'm even thinking about doing lists of what the different aspects are useful for (I'd have to dust off my Tcl knowledge...). --MentalMouse42 (talk) 19:15, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
ok... we should then create Crucible Recipes or Thaumcraft Recipes page for all the recipes. And also, you should check the talk pages for TODO lists. --tonkku107 «Talk

Version 4.1 has now been released and is going through bugfixes. The research has changed drastically, pipes have been nerfed badly (I'm still hoping he'll back off some on those), and there's a bunch of new toys. I'm not playing it yet though (too buggy, among other issues). --MentalMouse42 (talk) 14:19, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
Yes. I have seen that, and I have been updating the version on the main page. We need to start editing. --tonkku107 «Talk
