You have one error.[]

See Trident page. 180.190.43.234 09:39, 3 March 2018 (UTC)

I've made an error on the Trident page? I don't remember editing it much. If you can correct the error or tell me what it is, please do. – Sealbudsman talk/contr 13:35, 3 March 2018 (UTC)

rows-sorting button in another line in Module:LootChest[]

As said in the title, the sorting button is a bit annoying and occupying significant space. However, I can't programme actual Lua code so I wish you could do this. Details in Help:Sorting#In_a_narrow_space:_sorting_buttons_in_a_separate_row.a20001017Talk 10:17, 4 April 2018 (UTC)

I do see what you're saying. On that page you linked, I can't help notice there's an accessibility notice on the section. I'll bring it up on the community portal, however, and see what people think about it. – Sealbudsman talk | contribs 15:57, 11 April 2018 (UTC)

Tropical Fish Variant Names[]

Could you add the names of the tropical fish?–Preceding unsigned comment was added by Eegojad (talkcontribs) at 20:06, 18 May 2018 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

The names? – Sealbudsman talk | contribs 20:31, 18 May 2018 (UTC)
There's over 3,000 so probably not lol. – Nixinova Book and Quill Diamond Pickaxe Map (item) 20:34, 18 May 2018 (UTC)
How are the names generated? With over 3k of them, I'd be very surprised if Mojang hand-crafted names for them, so I'd expect some sort of procedural generation. If that's the case, then depending how it works, we might be able to write a module to generate the complete list. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 22:54, 18 May 2018 (UTC)

Patroller right[]

Hi! Dinoguy1000 has put you in the patroller user group, which allows you to mark other edits as patrolled and rollback edits. It's strongly recommended to take a look at MCW:Patrollers for an explanation of the role, as well as a quick guide. Here's a brief overview of both of the permissions the user right provides:

  • Marking edits as patrolled. This basically tells other patrollers and administrators that the edit has been reviewed and any problems both content-wise and formatting-wise, have been fixed - e.g., open HTML tags or incorrect information. Since you're a new patroller, if you're unsure about something, it's better to leave it to a more experienced patroller or administrator. Additionally, you can take a look at Special:log/patrol, to get an idea of when other patrollers mark edits as patrolled.
  • Rolling back edits. Clicking "rollback" will instantly rollback all of the last contributions to the page by the user without leaving an edit summary, while clicking the pencil button will allow the summary to be edited. The most important thing here, is if there's any chance that the user was trying to be helpful to the wiki or the information might be correct but you haven't tested it, make sure to leave an explanatory edit summary.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! Additionally, if you don't want this user right, feel free to ask for it to be removed here, and I can ping Dinoguy.-- Madminecrafter12Orange Glazed TerracottaTalk to meLight Blue Glazed Terracotta 13:20, 2 August 2018 (UTC)

LootChestItem base3[]

Is the base3 version of Module:LootChest complete? It's much, much better than the inline base2 version. If I changed {{LootChestItem}} to use base3, would there be any issues?  Nixinova T  C  06:42, 16 April 2020 (UTC)

Additionally, since I cannot figure out how to edit the module's output layout, could you please make java and bedrock equal (i.e. "In java, stuff. In bedrock, other stuff" instead of "Stuff. In bedrock, other stuff") by adding the "In java" text to the beginning of base2 and a "In java" header to the beginning of base3 after the col headers? (Also, more comments wouldn't hurt.) Thanks  Nixinova T  C  07:02, 16 April 2020 (UTC)

I can take a swing at comments definitely. There shouldn't be a need for text in base3, since the columns show you editions.(Ooh I see what you mean about "in java" header text. I was briefly confused because I was thinking of {{LootChestItem2}}, and forgot that base3 in Module:LootChest existed.) And I think base3 is sorta ready, I think there's one bug, I'll look at later today and keep you updated. Sorry, I have 3 little ones and I never make time for this module, it doesn't lend itself well to tiny edits here and there. – Sealbudsman talk | contribs 15:07, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
The latest work is at {{LootChestItem2}}, which you can kind of see on my home page. There's a bug you can see, everything is zero. I'm sure that's a little thing. The major thing is it doesn't also do the {{LootChest}} tables, which I'll let you know how that goes. – Sealbudsman talk | contribs 16:01, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
Feedback: I think LootChest2|make_item_table needs to have more whitespace; for example, rowspanning the structure name with a separate section for the container (like in LootChest|base3) since having a lot of e.g. "Village" text is hard on the eyes, and it starts to feel like information overload as there's no obvious hierarchy in the table (and also makes the rows quite tall).  Nixinova T  C  22:24, 17 April 2020 (UTC)
I agree it's cluttered without rowspans. If I do away with sortable columns, since I think sorting with rowspans makes it ugly/confusing, then yes I agree, I could do that. – Sealbudsman talk | contribs 23:03, 17 April 2020 (UTC)
Nixinova, any further feedback? I'm going to add in the chest-table function next.– Sealbudsman talk | contribs 22:06, 20 April 2020 (UTC)

notes3 error[]

Hi! You recently added functionality for multiple notes in Module:LootChest, which I am very much appreciative of. However, it seems something is broken. Pages like Sword are receiving errors. Do you think you could fix this?

Also, not sure if this is due to that or the new table loot item template, but items aren't displaying their custom names or notes anymore. On the same page, the second iron sword and first golden sword should both have notes, yet they currently don't.

Thanks! -PancakeIdentity (talk) 23:37, 17 April 2020 (UTC)

I attempted to fix it here, it's no longer showing errors on the Sword page but I'm not sure if it's what you originally intended. (For reference, the error was Module:LootChest at line 2606: attempt to index field 'notes3' (a nil value)) –Sonicwave talk 00:02, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
Thanks, yes it looks taken care of from what I can see. – Sealbudsman talk | contribs 01:39, 18 April 2020 (UTC)

Support for multiple entries of the same item in LootChest[]

Hey! Is it possible to let the same item show multiple times in the same pool? In the bastion treasure loot table, there are two entries for ancient debris in the first pool. Right now, this isn't represented in the table, so it may be a bit confusing or misleading. Is it possible to fix this? Thank you! -PancakeIdentity (talk) 04:04, 3 May 2020 (UTC)

You are on the same wavelength as me, that's the very next thing I had in mind. I think it is possible. There are two situations I think, it needs to handle:
  • Two of the same thing in the same pool. My solution would be write the entries on the same line, like.. [ancient-debris]=[{1,1,1},{2,2,2}] .. and have it interpret that appropriately.
  • Two of the same thing in the same chest but different pools.
In both cases I think it should: rowspan the structure + chest name, and the last several columns, but keep the weight, rolls and stack size columns split. The other numbers (# chests, # items, etc) can be rowspanned because .. might as well show the total numbers for ancient debris, instead of making the user do the math, I think.
Anyway, next time I get a moment I do have that in my head to do. – Sealbudsman talk | contribs 04:56, 3 May 2020 (UTC)
That sounds good! I think the second case is already supported (see Bedrock's bastion loot for an example with arrows), but it'd be much better to have it use this other system I think. Less user-end math is better. Take your time and thank you! -PancakeIdentity (talk) 00:58, 6 May 2020 (UTC)

Split discussion on Golden Apple[]

Since you had proposed a split at Talk:Golden Apple#Split several years ago (which only received a single comment), I thought you might be interested in giving your opinion on the new split discussion. We'd like to hear your thoughts[]

Hey there! If you haven't heard, we've decided to move away from Fandom to a new, independent wiki. I noticed you've contributed quite a bit, so I'd really appreciate your input on our skin designs for the new wiki, whether you think we should enable dark or light mode by default, and if you have any other feedback. You can leave your feedback on this page. I hope you can join us over there! - Harristic (talk) 15:46, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
