Block request

Ultradude, I can't do this anymore. Please block me indefinitely once you read this. I won't be editing anymore, and I can't. I have a freaking addiction... and I'm getting this reactive mentality that no one's acknowledging me on my contributions. I don't know why it had to come to this. Thanks, and editing this wiki was nice. Keep up your awesome work and same with the others. - Asterick6 08:21, 30 March 2012 (UTC)

Are you sure? –ultradude25 (T|C) at 12:47, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
I don't know man... I don't know if you guys appreciate me being here or what, but I don't think I have the luxury to continue doing this. It's taking up too much of my time, and I can't control myself. There's just too much stuff here to fix cause there aren't enough editors. I really think you need to recruit some more people. This isn't enough. Recruit more people please; from the forums, sites, chat, IRC, idk. - Asterick6 19:30, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
You've done a lot of great cleaning up of pages, which a lot of people can't be bothered doing. Although I think the problem is, you're too much of a perfectionist. You change a lot of things that make absolutely no difference (e.g. adding upper-case to template inclusions) instead of focusing on improving the article's content. Although you still do plenty of the latter, but you would have extra time if you didn't bother with the former.
I do this too, but I have the free time to spare (and I'm certainly addicted to wiki editing too :D).
While more editors would be nice, the wiki really isn't that bad. There's plenty of things that I wouldn't mind changing, but the world isn't going to end if I don't. Perfecting grammar and readability of articles is nice, but remember the common age for player's of Minecraft, it's mostly kids and teenagers, both of which aren't really going to care if the wiki is in perfect English.
Spend time on making sure the article has the content it should first, before worrying about other things. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 19:48, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
It isn't commented on much, but the work you (and all the other regular contributors) put in is definitely appreciated. Wikis are a continual work in progress; we don't have to get everything perfect before some arbitrary deadline, so you shouldn't feel pressure to do anything if you don't want to. I know the feeling of getting too caught up in something; take a break from it for a week or so, and see how you feel about it then. It's just a game, not worth burning yourself out over.Bleh, having trouble writing fluently today; hopefully my point comes across. -- Orthotope 20:10, 1 April 2012 (UTC)

File:PoweredRail.gif

Hi, I fixed the File:PoweredRail.gif issue. - CrazyBliep NL Admin 07:57, 4 April 2012 (UTC)

Thanks! –ultradude25 (T|C) at 17:55, 4 April 2012 (UTC)

Deathcube

Hey you deleted my article about Deathcube and im wondering about that because it's on the german wiki for more then 5 months now.

Baba43 19:21, 4 April 2012 (UTC)

It's against the rules. If the German wiki isn't enforcing the rules, that's their choice. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 20:01, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
Okay but why do you have this rule? Minigames are funny and there is no reason to forbid people to share their ideas. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by ‎Baba43 (Talk|Contribs) 20:16, 4 April 2012. Please sign your posts with ~~~~
Because this is a wiki, not a forum. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 20:40, 4 April 2012 (UTC)

Could you make some renders for me?

Hey, UltraDude, I was wondering if you could render the Enderman with a block of mycelium instead of grass (Make sure you save it at a separate location, of course,) as well as an isometric render of my (codegeek98's) skin. I would like to use them for my userpage. JamesTheAwesomeDude 00:22, 8 April 2012 (UTC)

You already asked me once. I can do the skin, but not the Enderman. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 00:23, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
You never responded the first time. (That's why I asked again.) Thank you, however, for the skin render. Could you make it high-resolution? (Please don't anti-alias it) JamesTheAwesomeDude 01:29, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
Yes I did. What resolution do you call high resolution? Also I can't actually do anything unless you give me the skin. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 03:05, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
High-res: probably 632*1540. Also, my skin is here. (You can go to minershoes.com to find the skin of any minecraft user. All you need is their username.) JamesTheAwesomeDude 15:18, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
How's this?ultradude25 (T|C) at 20:47, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
The transparency failed. Other than that, It's good. JamesTheAwesomeDude 20:52, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
The transparency works, it's just when the wiki resizes it that it doesn't show up. For some reason the wiki just won't resize compressed images properly. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 20:55, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
Could you upload it to Imgur so I can give a whack at the transparency issue? JamesTheAwesomeDude 01:37, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
Why? It's fixed, I just didn't compress it this time. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 01:39, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
Cool. Thank you so much! (Which program did you compress it with? Try GIMP.) JamesTheAwesomeDude 22:09, 10 April 2012 (UTC) EDIT: It's not fixed for me; I still have the wierd non-isometric rendering of the skin... JamesTheAwesomeDude 22:34, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

Clear your cache. - Asterick6 01:39, 12 April 2012 (UTC)

How do I clear my cache? I can't find the option for it, and I don't remember the shortcut for it... JamesTheAwesomeDude 16:37, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
Okay, I found out how to clear the cache, but the image still shows up like it did originally... (I did reload the page and the image, just to be sure.) JamesTheAwesomeDude 16:42, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
(sorry to intrude) the file is here and not here. – Scaler (t) 18:13, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
Ohhhhhh...... I thought you were going to replace the current image. Thank you for the render. :D JamesTheAwesomeDude 18:18, 12 April 2012 (UTC)

Minecraft Wiki:Sandbox

Hiya! just messaging all other admins about my project, the Minecraft Wiki:Sandbox.
This sandbox initiative is going to try to gauge what the community wants page-wise, and where they want the wiki to go.
the plan is to use that, and see if the wiki can go that way, if our rules need improving, or if it is not viable to go in certain directions with the wiki.
So, there will be many pages that break our current rules, that will be located at "Minecraft Wiki:Sandbox/PAGENAMES".
I'm just messaging to request, unless it is blatant spam, please don't delete these pages.
There is a system to delete these pages if they are too low quality, or not active enough, and a system to tell users what has been deleted, and why. as well as informing them if a page will never be reconsidered. This section of the wiki is to see if we can push the rules, and if we should we push the rules.
I welcome other admins to help take part in this project, to see how the wiki can viably adapt to the community.
Have a good day! :) --Kizzycocoa 22:26, 9 April 2012 (UTC)

Template assistance

I've been working on a row entry template for the Mods page, modeled after Programs and editors/entry, currently at User:Orthotope/workbench. For the Required API column, I tried to make it use {{tc|no}} if the field is blank or 'no', and {{tc|yes|{{{api}}} }} for any other text (ModLoader, Forge, etc.), but couldn't figure out how to make it work properly. As you're much more skilled with templates, I'm wondering if you can see how to do it, or if it's really a good idea (as it prevents using any other tc| options). -- Orthotope 08:25, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

Done. However I think allowing custom tc options would be better. Some things might only require API for some features.
You could still have it use no or yes automatically if the tc template isn't manually included which would have the best usability. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 11:06, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
Thank you very much! -- Orthotope 18:08, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

007a83 User boxes

Why do you keep undoing my changes to the n00b box? its n00b not noob ---007a83 04:34, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

Not only is that wrong, but it doesn't matter what it is, it isn't your userbox to edit. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 04:36, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
The link to clouds is alright, thanks for looking out for it. Pareidolon 04:40, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
ok I will not do the n00b thing but can I link the words in the user boxes to the page it best go's with? (only the build up good shot type ones)
PS Heres wht I mean Click Me
The links really aren't necessary. If people want links on their userboxes they can do it themselves. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 04:53, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
Some of them don't know how to do it. I just try to help. I like this wiki its one of the best I'v used and I want it to be the best it can be. ---007a83 04:57, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
PS sorry I did not see that file I see the .png not .PNG sorry
Instead of going around adding things to other people's pages, perhaps you should ASK if they want a link? –ultradude25 (T|C) at 05:12, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
Ok I will do that and can you read my thing in the rendering section ---007a83 05:24, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

Herobrine request

I was wondering, can you make another image of Herobrine, but with proportions matching the image of Steve? --Kizzycocoa 16:16, 20 April 2012 (UTC)

Ask Barracuda. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 07:08, 21 April 2012 (UTC)

Image Mass Revertion

I'm sure you're fairly aware of the issue of people unknowingly re-re-reverting the same image multiple times due to their cache not updating. Is it possible that a warning could be added so that new people would know not to constantly revert images if it doesn't work the first 4 times? Or at least ask them to check the file size and image parameters of the picture to clarify if it really is the same image. --HexZyle from the Spiral Knights wiki 01:42, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
