Tagging Edits

My watched list is almost entirely populated with your updates right now. Not a problem at all, but none of the updates have a Summary, which I would love to see. I don't need to click on every one if all you did was change a data value or add the inventory image (which I think is a great idea, by the way!). Just hoping you could add that in next time. Thanks! MrMatthew 16:43, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

Yeah I'd love to if there was a way to automatically put that summary in, and I need copy paste for what I'm actually changing on the page. Maybe I could just say "All my minor edits from now are doing <this>". Or I could stop being a lazy bastard. ultradude25 (T|C) 19:20, 20 October 2010 (CDT)

Uploading Inventory Icons

why u upload icons --GLaDOS 05:46, 17 October 2010 (CDT)

Well why not? ultradude25 (T|C) 05:48, 17 October 2010 (CDT)
good point. join teh irc channel #minecraftwiki on will ya? --GLaDOS 07:44, 19 October 2010 (CDT)
I don't use IRC. ultradude25 (T|C) 12:49, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
But you use Synergy... ;_; --GLaDOS 10:22, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
What has Synergy got to do with IRC? ultradude25 (T|C) 24 October 2010
Absolutely nothing. --GLaDOS 05:43, 24 October 2010 (CDT)

I frequently see this user helping out with stuff. Kudos, my friend. I felt this was noteworthy. –The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mopquill (Talk|Contribs) 17:57, 29 July 2010. Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

In reference to Toadbert's page, sorry, I was tired. I assumed he had made the page, and I don't know why I did that. XD Thanks for catching my error. --Mopquill 08:42, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

Crafting recipe's format

I see you are the contributor of a lot of crafting recipe's. Atm the is one missing, for the jukebox, thought I'd help out with that but I noticed that every single other crafting recipe has a certain amount of pixels height and width wise. I compared my screencapped image with one of yours and found that the proportions wasn't correct. How do you go about creating those crafting pages? --Genemos 22:55, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

Well, I take the Workbench crafting image and the player crafting image and put the fullsize grid and output box with the small arrow, I also leave a 1 Minepx border (2px). To make it easier I'll stick a template up on the crafting talk page in a sec. ultradude25 (T|C) 23:26, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

...I'm sorry? How was I intended to intuit the location and nature of this template before making my first Minepedia edit? --Eskay 14:34, 31 October 2010 (CDT)

An Apologetic explanation

I was confusing the user for another use who had dragon in his name who spammed the forum with stupid false quips about Notch. When I saw Notch I assumed it was one of the dozens I've already undid from people like dragon and when I saw the user I was ticked and rushed the undo even more. I apologize for my rude behavior on someone who didn't deserve it. (Obviously this apology is to you too Cyborg dragon :P ) --Moxxy 03:19, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

unused files

I see you have a few unused files uploaded, on the 1st nov. can I ask, why? I believe I deleted them in the huge image deletion storm I forewarned 2 days ago.--Kizzycocoa 14:56, 1 November 2010 (CDT)

They're for use on the Runecraft page, from what I can tell. Stand down, soldier. -- Toshu (talk) 20:07, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
Correct. I was going to ask you not to delete them, but then thought you probably just enter a command that deletes everything automatically, so it'd be easier to just re-upload them afterwards. ultradude25 (T|C) 17:24, 1 November 2010 (CDT)
nope. all by hand. it's a pain.--Kizzycocoa 17:26, 1 November 2010 (CDT)

Portal Crafting Image

I understand the Idea of east-facing blocks, but the portal block faces the opposite way in the inventory, and I would assume the template structure for the portal-creating process would be to use the inventory Icons of the items. --Antome 13:44, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

The stairs face backwards in the inventory as well, and you can't actually hold portal blocks without hacking them into your inventory, so what does it matter? ultradude25 (T|C) 19:59, 5 November 2010 (CDT)

Have I got a question for you!

Considering your huge amount of contributions to Minepedia and your frequent visits, I'd like to ask you to become a fellow Administrator. I think you'd be a great addition to our crew and sure as hell hope you agree and join us. Contact us over at #minecraftwiki on (IRC) if you have more questions!--Quatroking - Garble Garble! 06:17, 7 November 2010 (CST)

Well, I don't see why not. I've been admin on various forums before, but never on a wiki; so if there is anything I need to learn how to do, it'd be good to know where to go to do that! Thanks! ultradude25 (T|C) 19:06, 7 November 2010 (CST)
Congratulations, I would like you to know that I have noticed the time and effort you put in for this wiki and I am truely grateful. You made my,and many other people's Minecraft experience easier and more enjoyable. ReubenHung 13:20, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
lrn2indent. Kinda funny how you said "wait until I get admin", then 5 seconds later, you haz t3h adminz. :| GLaDOS
That always happens to me, the one time I did ask for admin on a server I got rejected, and from then on I just waited until the higher ups asked me if I wanted to be admin. It's worked out well so far. ultradude25 (T|C) 20:34, 8 November 2010 (CST)

Patch Notes / Change Log on Main Page

Put Patch Notes / Change Log on Main Page -Starclaws 04:27, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

I don't think that's a good idea, the patch/version history page is quite large.. All you need to do is put a link to the version history page on the main page ConMan8 05:51, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
That's not happening. ultradude25 (T|C) 00:18, 10 November 2010 (CST)
EDIT: I'm talking about the version history being on the page, the link might.

Chofstone needs to be banned

Chofstone has violated a wiki rule - "do not insert nonsense lines into pages" and you have repeatedly reverted it.. you have administrator rights and you should ban this guy! ConMan8 02:16, 10 November 2010 (CST)

from my eyes, he cannot control it. it might be like, using a phone to edit. it won't matter, as long as he gets on an actual computer.
as a side note, you need IRC ultradude. so much easier to moderate the wiki with. especially with Miney around :3 --Kizzycocoa 02:48, 10 November 2010 (CST)
I do use IRC and have been for a while. I even said goodnight to you the other day!
I take it he is on some weird browser that doesn't play well with the odd JavaScript infested edit box this wiki has going, so I don't mind deleting it, but if he keeps it up he'll just have to get a better means of editing, or not edit at all. It's really not helpful having to delete that junk everytime he edits. ultradude25 (T|C) 02:39, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Images that need brightening

Can we make a template to tag images that need brightening, or something? (is wikipedia newb) - Two images that need brightening are Gravityfail2.JPG and ZombieR.png. --Fishrock123 03:12, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

Or you could just brighten them yourself. ultradude25 (T|C) at 21:13, 12 November 2010 (CST)
Or maybe I either don't have a means of doing so, or don't know how. --Fishrock123 21:15, 12 November 2010 (CST)
Get an editing program, or make a category and add it to the images. ultradude25 (T|C) at 21:18, 12 November 2010 (CST)

I was wondering, can you come on IRC? :P --Kizzycocoa 22:03, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

ok, this isn't working (the pinks are all touching by a pixel. argh!), so, can you email me so it can be textured? (kizzycocoa at I guess I will have to let you in on some seecrets of the awards X3--Kizzycocoa 07:25, 22 November 2010 (CST)

Deletion of Fire logging

Hey Ultradude25, why did you delete the page "Fire logging"? It took me a half an hour to research and create! –The preceding unsigned comment was added by Deltasword (Talk|Contribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

useless page. not to mention it is literally the act of setting trees on fire, and as such, not noteable. plus over hald of items are lost that way.--Kizzycocoa 23:46, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
Who made this page? it sounds useless.... GLaDOS
still, live and let live. Just ignore the page. If no one visits it, who cares? deltasword
This is why we need a deletions page...  ACLECTASIS  00:05, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
Keeping totally useless pages oin the wiki is a dumb idea. It would waste space and make the wiki look messy and unorganized, more than it needs to be. I think this guy just wants to be seen for creating an article or something. Toadbert
Once a page is made on the wiki, deleting it doesn't save "space". Deleted pages stay on the wiki's servers and are only accessible by system operators. As for my actual comment, I don't know why I said that. I must have just woken up and was drowsy. But we still would benefit from a deletions page with logs and descriptions of pages that are deleted.  ACLECTASIS  01:10, 26 November 2010 (CST)
Ya, I'm definitely some pompous prick who only wants to fill up your precious wiki with garbage. I've got better things to do, and I thought that providing one term would be harmless at best. Guess I was wrong. deltasword
no-one's saying that. we're saying the technique is ineffective, youtube videos other than Notch's on normal pages aren't allowed and pages about simple things aren't allowed.--Kizzycocoa 08:52, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
Ok fine, I misread the rules, and I now understand. Thanks. deltasword
Aclectasis... Special:Log&type=delete ultradude25 (T|C) at 21:40, 27 November 2010 (CST)
That's a separate issue entirely. You can't say "because this wiki has no source of law or punishment and lots of users ignore the only source of "rules" on this wiki (which users aren't even directed to when they make an account, lest directed too when breaking these rules), this is why we shouldn't have a deletions page where contested pages could be discussed and voted on". See Herobrine.  ACLECTASIS  13:31, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

Redstone Circuits page TOC

Are you aware that with the TOC on the right, the thumbnail for the Logic Gates section is BELOW the following section for the NOT gate, and the NOT's thumbnail is pushed even farther down? - Tallinu 05:44, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

dablink deletion

I contend your decision to delete Template:dablink. This template never had any intents on making the markup shorter; the primary purpose of such a template is to standardize implementation of dablinks, exactly as wikipedia uses it. For example this prevents editors from unintentionally missing the indentation or similar. It is not useless. I am disappointed you removed this without first even discussing it with me. --prettycoolguy (talk) 20:53, 28 November 2010 (CST)

Well if you really want to use it over just typing the markup, be my guest, I'll undelete it. ultradude25 (T|C) at 00:30, 29 November 2010 (CST)

IRC (one last time!))

can you come on IRC one last time? I have had an idea, but I need your rendering skills :3

sorry for missing you if I did yesterday! I went to bed. I'll be up 'til 1AM GMT, if you can catch me. if not, should I email? thanks in advance for any reply! ^^--Kizzycocoa 18:57, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

Hi there. Did I do something wrong with my first two edits to :File:CraftingBlocksIOanim.gif? I noticed the mistakes I made in the first upload and re-uploaded with the fixed version, but then I noticed that later you uploaded after me. Was this a case that we were both working on it at the same time, or did I do something wrong in the second edit too?

(I did notice that your GIF used different palettes in each frame; my editor (the GIMP) doesn't allow that, so I did have to reduce the colours, so your version is probably better in any case. In any case, I'm really sorry if I made a faux pas. I did check the rules first.) --Sophira 02:47, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

No, you actually uploaded the fixed version while I was busy making a fixed version myself. Because of that I didn't see your second edit until I had uploaded mine. ultradude25 (T|C) at 21:05, 10 December 2010 (CST)
Cool, thanks for that. I do have a question, though - how come the smaller versions are used and not direct screenshots? (Or is this how Minecraft used to show them and the images haven't been updated?) I just ask because it does make it more difficult to do these properly. --Sophira 21:12, 10 December 2010 (CST)
It's just to save space. We don't need that huge arrow and all the spacing in between it. ultradude25 (T|C) at 03:16, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
Got it. (On another note, seeing our comments marked with UTC in some edits and CST in others is weird. That presumably must be a bug. Where should I report that?) --Sophira 21:23, 10 December 2010 (CST)
It's done that for ages. Must be something wrong with the software. ultradude25 (T|C) at 00:12, 11 December 2010 (CST)

Which settings for cliff picture?

Your picture of the randomly generated cliff is great!

Which settings did you use in which map generator, please?

Greets, --DeepMiner 10:44, 19 December 2010 (CST)

What picture are you talking about? ultradude25 (T|C) at 20:16, 19 December 2010 (CST)

Subst & templates

So, when should a template be subst and when shouldn't it be? --JonTheMon 19:01, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

If there is a template for something, use it, always. Means less is actually written on the page, so it makes it easier to edit, allows all unsigned comments to be updated at the same time to have the same style and (by using "What links here") allows you to easily find every talk page with unsigned comments on it. ultradude25 (T|C) at 19:21, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
So, never subst. --JonTheMon 19:42, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
Unless you absolutely want to stop whatever it is from being changed when the template is changed, then I can't see a reason to. ultradude25 (T|C) at 14:09, 27 December 2010 (CST)
Speaking of templates, can you please create usage documentation for the templates you create so that other users know how to use them? Thanks! -- Wynthyst 19px talk 05:54, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
Is there a way to find all templates created by me? I can't remember which ones I've made. ultradude25 (T|C) at 07:24, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
Nevermind, found a way. All my templates already have usage notes. ultradude25 (T|C) at 07:28, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
My apologies, I had seen something else and for some reason thought you were the person who did the navbox template. -- Wynthyst 19px talk 08:56, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

Community portal

Why do you continue to remove the formatting on the Community portal? It was intended to look the way it did. -- Wynthyst 19px talk 08:54, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

Having the bordering on the blue boxes only on the right and the bottom looked odd and the whole page border didn't fit in with any other wiki page. ultradude25 (T|C) at 16:17, 30 December 2010 (UTC)

Just a heads up

Subbing templates for signatures can sometimes be a really bad idea, because disproportionate amounts of server power are spent accessing and loading your template, and if your signature ever changes, it has to be done all over again for every page your signature is on. If server power and bandwidth aren't an issue for Minepedia, then you won't have to worry about it. Just fyi. --Novatastic 05:28, 30 December 2010 (UTC)

Well I kind of have to. If you look at my signature page you'll see it's too long to fit in the wiki's signature field, plus the template has the added advantage of updating all my signatures, if ever I change it. ultradude25 (T|C) at 16:09, 30 December 2010 (UTC)
And that is the entire problem. Your signature is going to appear in hundreds of thousands of places if you continue to edit regularly. Forcing the template to parse changes will create a major backlog in the job queue. -- Wynthyst 19px talk 20:44, 30 December 2010 (UTC)
you can remove a lot of that....
like this:
--ultradude25 (T|C)
that's a lot smaller, and looks more or less the same.--Kizzycocoa 21:30, 30 December 2010 (UTC)
