About editing templates[edit]

I've taken the liberty of creating a basic talk page for you so that we can dialog to answer your question on the Talk:Tutorials page. (Article talk pages should only be used to discuss the article itself.) Be sure to add this page to your watchlist by clicking on the star tab at the top of the page, so you'll get a notification whenever somebody updates it. User talk pages are the best place to have a dialog with another editor when the discussion wouldn't interest other editors. The convention is for the initiator to create a new topic on the other editor's talk page, and the entire dialog occurs there rather than splitting the messages between their two talk pages. I will have this page on my watchlist, so when you update it I'll be notified automatically and can reply here.

By the way, you got your signature set up correctly, but you're still signing with ~~~~ and then adding your username. You don't need to add that; it's part of the generated signature. Look back at the Talk:Tutorials page, at the end of your entry, and you'll see what I mean.

So here's the scoop: Like almost anything else on the wiki, you don't need special permissions to edit most templates. However, it's important to understand that because templates are invoked from many article pages, a mistake in a template can have a wide-ranging effect on the wiki, so it's wise to be extra cautious when editing them.

First, I suggest you be comfortable with the concept of wiki namespaces. Namespaces are a wiki mechanic, so the place to look for information about them is the MediaWiki help system. (MediaWiki is the software that runs wikis everywhere.) The help page for namespaces is here. After that, it would be good to look at the help page for templates too, but don't worry about understanding all of that one just now since you'll only be adding links to the Tutorials template, not changing how it works.

Once you have the background, you can go ahead and edit the Template:Tutorials page to add your links. You can just copy and paste an existing link before or after where you want it to appear, then change the page name. Important: There's a difference in how templates are presented when you're viewing and editing them. When you're viewing them (like you would an article), what you see should be documentation on how the template is used, but when you hit the Edit button you'll see the actual content of the template instead. The content is what gets included in the pages that call the template, using the {{Tutorials}} syntax, so that's all you're really interested in right now.

Don't worry too much about making a mistake in this template, because even if you really mess it up you'll only affect tutorials pages and you can quickly undo your changes. (I'm assuming you know how to use the History tab to do that.) But if you're uneasy about it, it's possible to test template changes in a sandbox under your user page, where nothing else will be affected. I wouldn't bother with that until you want to change the logic of a template, as opposed to merely the content it includes. (Most editors never get to the stage of changing template logic, in fact.)

If you have any questions, just ask here. Later, after we've concluded this dialog, you can ask me on my talk page instead. Good luck! – Auldrick (talk · contribs) 04:15, 13 December 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for the advice! I was able to add the new tutorial pages to the template with ease, and I can now keep the tutorial template up to date. (also, is my signature correct?)- Madminecrafter12 (talk) 14:46, 13 December 2017 (UTC)
Glad I could help, and your signature is fine now. TTYL – Auldrick (talk · contribs) 02:23, 14 December 2017 (UTC)

Deleting a talk post[edit]

TheRealBurningMoon, this is where we can talk about your problem about deleting a post on a talk page.--Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngMadminecrafter12TalkContributions 16:50, 15 February 2018 (UTC)

As a reply to the comment on my profile page, you should be able to backspace the content even if you are a new user. What happens when you try to backspace the post? Also, is there a specific post you want to delete, cause if so, I could delete it myself.--Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngMadminecrafter12TalkContributions 16:52, 15 February 2018 (UTC)

Grid images[edit]

Please don't upload grid images as separat files. There is a module called InvSprite that is used for grid images. The individual files only work, because the old system is still in place, but it shouldn't be used anymore as the new module is by far easier to maintain. Also please upload potions without the enchantment glow. I have take care of this matter by now, but please remember this in the future. – Fuzs 17:28, 19 February 2018 (UTC)

Hi Fuzs, and thanks for letting me know. The reason for this was it seemed like all of these new features were being added as an inventory image, so I was just trying to help contribute to what the community was doing. However, I have looked all over the wiki but cannot find how to change the InvSprite image. That's good to know though - I'll stop uploading grid images.--Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngMadminecrafter12TalkContributions 17:52, 19 February 2018 (UTC)

Wanted pages[edit]

Hi! You seem to be the only one who's actively using the "wanted pages" section in the community portal lately. I just wanted to say, for any future requests, please check the German wiki first. All of your past requests were already completed there before you posted them, I just copied the images each time. But I don't think our readers should have to wait as long as for someone else to copy a file, you can easily do that by yourself and the missing images will be there instantly. – Fuzs 12:14, 26 February 2018 (UTC)

Fuzs, wow, you're right! I never realized that the German wiki had so many more images. Thanks, that's great to know for the future.--Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngMadminecrafter12TalkContributions 14:09, 26 February 2018 (UTC)
Yeah, that's because I usually upload my work in my main wiki first. :D – Fuzs 14:14, 26 February 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for the help[edit]

I really appreciate your steer on page deletion, stub templates, etc. Super helpful of you. Spikezarkspike (talk) 19:48, 26 February 2018 (UTC)

Glad I could help! If you need help with anything in the future, just let me know and I'll try to help in any way that I can. :) --Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngMadminecrafter12TalkContributions 20:24, 26 February 2018 (UTC)
OK so taking you at your word... Mods. If I have a mod (a datapack actually) that relates to Desert Survival, can I post it on this forum somewhere (where?), and can I then link to it from the Desert Survival tutorial? Or is that not allowed? Thanks, Spikezarkspike (talk) 20:55, 5 March 2018 (UTC)
To be honest, I am not extremely familiar with this topic, but I can still help. I'm pretty sure each data pack available should not have its own page, because the many combinations available would just overload the wiki. However, I think it would be fine to mention about the data pack on the desert survival tutorial, as I've seen this on many other tutorials.--Orange Glazed Terracotta.png Madminecrafter12TC 21:02, 5 March 2018 (UTC)
OK thanks. So probably what I will do is put the datapack on github, and just link to it from a section at the end of the tutorial. And if there is a generic page for datapacks, I will also put the link there. Cheers! Spikezarkspike (talk) 21:17, 5 March 2018 (UTC)
I think what you did with the page in your last edit works fine. :) --Orange Glazed Terracotta.png Madminecrafter12TC 23:14, 5 March 2018 (UTC)
Great, thanks! Spikezarkspike (talk) 23:19, 5 March 2018 (UTC)

Hi, do you have Discord, Twitter, etc.? I'd like to talk to you about something regarding old versions of the game. ―HalfOfAKebab (talk, contribs) 18:42, 22 March 2018 (UTC)

@HalfOfAKebab:Hey there, unfortunately no, I do not have Discord or Twitter. Could this thing regarding old game versions not be discussed via either of our talk pages, profile comments, or email? Also, I'm on Slack, so if you want to discuss it there that would work as well.--Orange Glazed Terracotta.png Madminecrafter12TC 19:17, 22 March 2018 (UTC)

loot table edit[edit]

Hi! What did it mess up? – Sealbudsman talk/contr 13:17, 23 March 2018 (UTC)

Oh, I think I discovered the problem. The problem was that on the fish (food) page would say "there is no such item as cooked cod," but that's (obviously) because the loot chest item was cooked cod (duh, me)! I think I'm going to restore my edit and then very quickly change it on the fish food page. It would be nice if there were a simple way to find all pages using a certain parameter for LootChestItem (in this example it would be {{LootChestItem|cooked-cod}}. The only problem with changing cod to fish, like I was doing with my edit, would be for pages such as buried treasure, where it would say that raw fish (cooked fish, correction) generates in them, despite the fact that buried treasure chests only appear in snapshots after fish was renamed to cod. Still, I think it would be less confusing as a whole if cod were changed to fish.--Orange Glazed Terracotta.png Madminecrafter12TC 13:25, 23 March 2018 (UTC)
Ok, that worked. Now the trick is finding all of the pages using the cooked-cod parameter.--Orange Glazed Terracotta.png Madminecrafter12TC 13:27, 23 March 2018 (UTC)
Actually, now that I think about it, there may not be any other pages that use the cooked-cod parameter. If I happen to find one, though, I'll make sure to change it.--Orange Glazed Terracotta.png Madminecrafter12TC 13:29, 23 March 2018 (UTC)
I'm almost 100% sure the only place LootChestItem is being used is in the Obtaining/Natural generation sections of the pages themselves, e.g. Fish in this case -- with one exception, which is that the armor pieces are in two places, e.g. helmet info appears on both the Armor and the Helmet pages.
Although, that's only where they're meant to go. Hm. Perhaps if there were another key within "cooked-fish" = { keys } like category=true, so that the script could put a category wherever that particular LootChestItem was being used. Should be simple enough to do? – Sealbudsman talk/contr 14:55, 23 March 2018 (UTC)

Iceberg on Generated Structures[edit]

Hi! You had:

{{upcoming|Bedrock Edition 1.2.14}}{only|bedrock}}

The version that works is:

{{upcoming|ver=Bedrock Edition 1.2.14}}{{only|bedrock}}

Sealbudsman talk/contr 17:10, 30 March 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know. I've fixed it now; but it's good to know that it's nothing wrong with the wiki - just me making very careless mistakes and not looking over my edits before submitting (that seems to very often be the case - I probably should have guessed... :) ).--Orange Glazed Terracotta.png Madminecrafter12TC 18:16, 30 March 2018 (UTC)

Bedrock 1.3 is the Update Aquatic[edit]

If I understood well what's the point of 1.2.13 and 1.2.14, these two versions are released to fix bugs first, and allow iOS players to have "betas" through the Experimental Features option. Helen clearly said that 1.3 is the Aquatic Update. • Yanis48 (talk) 12:29, 4 April 2018 (UTC)

Hi there! We've been discussing this at User talk:Ff98sha. Personally, I don't think there is anywhere that Helen clearly stated that 1.3 is the Update Aquatic, but this is possible. We had decided (admittedly, rather loosely), that until we hear otherwise, it would make the most sense to just assume that 1.2.13 and 1.2.14 are going to be released as their builds are, and once a developer has made it clear, "Although the builds are released as if they were going to be for 1.2.13 and 1.2.14, their full implementation will actually be in 1.3," then we will update the wiki for this. We've also pinged Helen to that discussion, but she hasn't replied to it. In my opinion, I think we should wait until it's a little bit clearer that 1.3 is the Update Aquatic, or Helen says "yes, the builds for 1.2.13 and 1.2.14 are actually for 1.3, and the released versions are just there for technical reasons." Cheers!-- Madminecrafter12Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngTalk to meLight Blue Glazed Terracotta.png 12:52, 4 April 2018 (UTC)

Fact check[edit]

Tropical Fish Fact Check[edit]

On the Update Aquatic page, it says there's 3,072 varieties of tropical fish. That seems a little over-the-top, huh? Can you verify that? Twh minecrafter (talk) 00:18, 16 April 2018 (UTC)Twh_minecrafter

Hi there. I don't really think there's any need to verify it. If you look closer at the text, you'll notice that tropical fish come in 2 shapes, 16 colors, 6 patterns, and 16 pattern colors, which, when you do the math (multiply all 4 numbers together), works out to 3,072. That is quite a large number though! Hope this helps, and let me know if you have any other questions.-- Madminecrafter12Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngTalk to meLight Blue Glazed Terracotta.png 00:30, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
Actually, apparently you were right - now the page has been changed, it's different now, and only 2,700 naturally occur.-- Madminecrafter12Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngTalk to meLight Blue Glazed Terracotta.png 01:19, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
2700 is accurate. They don't spawn in black, likely because black overlays the texture shading completely. So, for instance, you wouldn't be able to tell the eyes apart from the scales, which wouldn't look good. - Princess Nightmoon (TalkContributions) 01:35, 16 April 2018 (UTC)

Creating New Pages[edit]

Hey, if I want to create an entirely new page, how do I do that? Like, entirely new, not just one that's a broken redirect. Twh minecrafter (talk) 21:32, 16 April 2018 (UTC)

Hey there, Twh minecrafter. The easiest way to create a new page is to first search for the title. Below the options bar (multimedia, everything, advanced, etc.) but above the search results, you will see the text "create the page (x) on this wiki!," with a dead link to the page you've searched for. Click on the dead link, start typing, and click "publish page" to save the page. Like any other page, you can edit it any time you want. However, you can't just make any subject a page on the Minecraft Wiki - many subjects are meant to be combined with other articles or should just not be created (possibly be created in the future) due to the style guide or the wiki rules. Could you tell me what new page you would like to create. I could probably let you know whether it would make a good addition to the encyclopedia, and eventually I'm sure you'll get the hang of what kind of pages should be created and which ones shouldn't. Thanks.-- Madminecrafter12Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngTalk to meLight Blue Glazed Terracotta.png 23:48, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
Thanks, I want to add an article on how to start up an SMP economy. It seems like something that would help, as server owners could use this to start a survival SMP economy. But is there anyway to do it without dead links? Thanks for the help! (Also, with the addition of tridents, this one question dawned on me. If you hit a pig with a trident enchanted with Channeling, will the combined damage of the melee damage of the trident and the lightning kill the pig? Or will it turn into a zombie pigman? If so, will the pigman be at full health, 11 hitpoints left, 1 hitpoint left, or dead because of the combined damage killed the 10 health of a pig? If it dies AND transforms, would it drop the pig's original drops, or a pigman's drops?) I came over this question discussing the fact that gold would be technically a renewable resource due to the question. Twh minecrafter (talk) 00:09, 17 April 2018 (UTC)
Hmm, that's an interesting idea about the pigmen and gold possibly being a renewable resource. Anyways, as for that page, that's actually a pretty good idea - you would create it as something like [[Tutorials/How to start up an SMP economy]] or [[Tutorials/Starting up an SMP economy]]; the main thing to have the "Tutorials/" prefix. Also, like I explained in my post, you don't need to make your own dead link - one automatically generates when you search for a non-existing page, see here. That's not hard to do at all, just search in the search box and click on the dead link, so I'm not sure why you would need to do it some way other than this way. However, you can alternatively do it with the URL (e.g., but in my opinion it's quicker and easier to just search for it and follow the dead link. Anyways, hope this helps, and good luck with creating a page! :)-- Madminecrafter12Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngTalk to meLight Blue Glazed Terracotta.png 00:19, 17 April 2018 (UTC)

Sources for ancient versions[edit]

If you can find a way to search tweets from that far back, Notch almost always posted on his twitter when he dropped new versions. (Doubtless there's all sorts of other interesting tidbits to be found in his old tweets too.) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 16:22, 22 April 2018 (UTC)

Dinoguy1000, with a little help from Google I discovered that it is possible to search for a specific tweet date by using the advanced search. However, I don't know if I'm making some dumb mistake (most likely scenario :)) or what, but no mention about versions is coming up when I put in from May 16 to November 10 of 2009, which is the span of the Classic development stage. Put in the URL BUT replace the hashtags with "search?" as the abuse filter apparently blocks users from putting "/search" after Did Notch only post this for Indev and Infdev? I'm going to look into this now.-- Madminecrafter12Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngTalk to meLight Blue Glazed Terracotta.png 16:40, 22 April 2018 (UTC)
I didn't start following his Twitter until some time in (lateish?) Alpha, so I can't answer that. I will say, though, that it probably would have been fairly unusual for him to have tweeted something like "just released Minecraft version X". Also, if you'd prefer to work through them chronologically instead of whatever order "Top" decides to put them in, try search?f=tweets&vertical=default&q=from%3ANotch%20since%3A2009-05-16%20until%3A2009-11-11&src=typd (it's actually the spam filter blocking the URL, btw, not the abuse filter). ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 17:00, 22 April 2018 (UTC)

Update Bedrock build version[edit]

Could you update the build version for the Bedrock Edition to 1.2.20 build 2? Thanks! Also, would replying to this once in a while when either the main wiki/mc version page becomes outdated be fine? --Whatausername64 (talk) 16:23, 23 April 2018 (UTC)

Hi Whatausername64, do you mean what displays on the main page? If so, then that would use Module:Version/Numbers, which I cannot edit because it's directors-only protected, so I would need to ping an admin to this discussion. If this is not what you mean, could you please specify? Thanks.-- Madminecrafter12Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngTalk to meLight Blue Glazed Terracotta.png 17:10, 23 April 2018 (UTC)
Yeah, that's what I mean, sorry. And who would be a good admin to ping whenever an update, new shapshot or build, occurs? --Whatausername64 (talk) 15:40, 24 April 2018 (UTC)
Probably Dinoguy1000 or Orthotope, because they seem to be the only admins who are very involved with the community. It seems like Majr is busy with other technical things, KnightMiner only makes an edit every now and then, and all of the rest of the admins are completely inactive.-- Madminecrafter12Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngTalk to meLight Blue Glazed Terracotta.png 15:42, 24 April 2018 (UTC)
Per Madminecrafter, these days it's often me updating the version numbers in the module, though I wouldn't be surprised if Orthotope would also do so on request. In this case, I updated the module yesterday. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 15:46, 24 April 2018 (UTC)
Oh yeah, you did. I'm surprised I didn't notice that before - I thought I had looked at every recent change to the wiki yesterday, but I guess I must have skipped over that one. Also, Whatausername64, admins from the Minecraft Wiki in other languages are directors on the en wiki, and all directors are able to edit the module as well. Frisk and Ff98sha seem to have been updating the module recently, so if you pinged one of them they will likely see it and update it.-- Madminecrafter12Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngTalk to meLight Blue Glazed Terracotta.png 15:55, 24 April 2018 (UTC)

@Blobs2: thank you for letting me know about this. For some reason I never realized that this was in the style guide before - it would probably do me some good to just read the whole style guide through once thoroughly; I've read most of it, but I'm sure there are a few little things (such as this) that I may have not caught. I'll make sure to do this in the future when I add message boxes to pages, although if I accidentally don't one time, don't hesitate to let me know so that I can correct myself. 18w06a Source[edit]

Hey there, just wanted to follow up with the revision to 18w06a. I added that line because the official page (the sole source of the article) mentions that the customized worlds were removed in that snapshot since they "were not able to have that ready yet," but that they plan on putting them back in the game presumably when whatever issues there are have been sorted. I didn't think I needed to re-cite that source, since it was cited in the article's introduction. But If my language was misleading or I should have worded differently I am open to suggestions. (Main reason I made the edit was because I was looking at Customized and noticed they removed it in that snapshot, so I was a little upset thinking it was being scrapped. But then I looked at the official snapshot page and saw that tidbit, so I thought it was worth mentioning since it isn't a permanent change.) Albee12 (talk) 21:14, 12 May 2018 (UTC)

@Albee12: Thank you for reaching out to me. I do apologize for that, it was my mistake for reverting it - the statement was fine the way you had it, and I did not look at the source before reverting it, which I should have. However, now that we're on this topic anyway, this leads to another question (not necessarily involving you). Is the Buffet biome what the Minecraft developers meant when they said "We have plans to re-add them in a much more extendible way?" If that's the case, then the Customized biome would be removed, and it would just be replaced with Buffet.-- Madminecrafter12Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngTalk to meLight Blue Glazed Terracotta.png 21:22, 12 May 2018 (UTC)
@Madminecrafter12: I was actually wondering that myself, but I can't say for sure. It appears to be far more limited in terms of scope, though, since as far as I can tell you can only choose a biome and one of three variants to generate for the entire world. I'm thinking (hoping, even) that perhaps buffet-type worlds will be a new type alongside the other types, customized included, to allow inexperienced players to have some of the options of customized worlds in a simplified interface. It would be a shame to lose customized-type worlds altogether though, as I use them for almost all my new playthroughs (I don't like random non-stone stone patches when I'm carving out a mountain base). Protect you![edit]

Other user (like User:Wynthyst) always protect yourself! -- 12:00, 21 May 2018 (UTC)

Hi there! Are you talking about protecting my user page so that anons can't edit it? If so, I don't see why that would be necessary, as there have been no cases of vandalism - in fact, nobody's ever edited by user page, as you can see from the history. Pages should usually only be protected if there's a long history of vandalism, or if the user wants to have their user page protected (this will even often be declined if there's no history of vandalism). As for Wynthyst, she, sadly, is deceased. The only reason why her user page and talk page are protected, is because they want to preserve them exactly as they are in her memory, and they therefore should never be edited.-- Madminecrafter12Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngTalk to meLight Blue Glazed Terracotta.png 12:16, 21 May 2018 (UTC)
Semi-protecting a user page is redundant; there is an abuse filter that prevents non-autoconfirmed users from editing others’ user pages. The BlobsPaper JE2 BE2.png 00:25, 22 May 2018 (UTC)

Minecraft continues to send to instagram and continues using Java Edition, All Minecraft products still using Java Edition and the LEGO Minecraft continues to use Java Edition. that's it–Preceding unsigned comment was added by Angelwanderley (talkcontribs) at 16:34, 26 May 2018 (UTC). Just because they do that doesn't mean it's the main version. We try to keep all versions roughly equal - and changing what you did on so many pages without leaving a valid edit summary should probably be discussed. Especially the edit to Cape where you removed content without explaining why. I'm glad you've stopped now though. :)-- Madminecrafter12Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngTalk to meLight Blue Glazed Terracotta.png 16:40, 26 May 2018 (UTC)

minecraft wii u edition and xbox one edition[edit]

what is the seed for the temple of notch because i have been hearing lots of good reports about it,and what does the heart of the sea do?–Preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk) at 17:54, 26 May 2018 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Hi! I'm not sure what this temple of Notch thing is, a better place to ask would be the forums - but if somebody else does know what it is (or knows that it doesn't exist at all), feel free to respond. In answer to your heart of the sea question, they can be crafted into a Conduit in the latest snapshot versions/builds of both Java and Bedrock, but has no use in the current Bedrock version.-- Madminecrafter12Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngTalk to meLight Blue Glazed Terracotta.png 17:57, 26 May 2018 (UTC)

minecraft wii u edition[edit]

ive been hearing that there is an aquatic seed and i really want to use the seed but i dont know the seed do you? and what is the seed for the ship in a bottle map?–Preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk) at 22:42, 26 May 2018 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

I don't know any more than you do - I'm just a Minecraft Wiki contributor, I'm not knowledgeable in every possible seed there is for the game. You can ask on the forums or look it up yourself, but my talk page is really not the place to ask.-- Madminecrafter12Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngTalk to meLight Blue Glazed Terracotta.png 22:49, 26 May 2018 (UTC)

minecraft xbox live edition[edit]

so remember you told me you can make a block with the heart of the sea thing how do you make it because i tried to make it without knowing how to even make it?-- 18:55, 29 May 2018 (UTC)Harlan Bowman

It says this in the obtaining section of the heart of the sea page. In the future, please check the wiki page before posting on my talk page if your question is related to a simple Minecraft feature. You could have easily found the answers to all these questions you've been asking me very quickly if you had of just gone to the pages for the features you've been asking about, instead of repeatedly posting on my talk page.-- Madminecrafter12Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngTalk to meLight Blue Glazed Terracotta.png 19:01, 29 May 2018 (UTC)

minecraft xbox live edition[edit]

i did check it said you need some type of shell but the xbox live edition doesnt have it yet-- 17:54, 30 May 2018 (UTC)Harlan Bowman

Please go to the forums. I'm not able to help you every single time you have a question. Because you've been constantly spamming people's talk pages asking for help, you have been blocked for 3 days (by another user). If you continue to do this after you've been blocked, you're likely going to be blocked again - so stop coming to my talk page all the time for stuff that really doesn't belong on the wiki.-- Madminecrafter12Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngTalk to meLight Blue Glazed Terracotta.png 18:18, 30 May 2018 (UTC)

Item infobox "type" field[edit]

Hey, I looked into the templates, and it seems like the type of an {{item}} infobox is not actually used, besides just displaying as-is. I'm not sure about any conventions about it though. Good luck with that haha. – Jack McKalling [ Talk Contrib ] 15:54, 2 June 2018 (UTC)

Jack McKalling - yeah, you're right about that! All the item type does is adds the page to the category. For example, if the item type were set to "non-solid block," it would add to Category:Non-solid blocks, but it actually wouldn't display in the infobox that the item type is a non-solid block.-- Madminecrafter12Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngTalk to meLight Blue Glazed Terracotta.png 16:00, 2 June 2018 (UTC)

Unnecessarily renaming images[edit]

I noticed this with the image File:LF.png it was renamed from LF.PNG to LF.png - okay, that on by itself is useless, so be it, if it doesn't break anything. But UserProfile:MinecraftPhotos4U also renamed images by removing e.g. version information from the filename and didn't leave a summary - effectively deleting information about a screenshot. I have no idea about Wiki hierarchy, so it's up for discussion for you whether such changes are acceptable Short list of his changes:

  • File:Screenshot of River through Mesa v1.7.2.png to File:River through Mesa.png
  • File:RoffedforesthillsPe.jpg to File:RoofedForestMountains.jpg
  • File:Sky 1.8.2.png to File:Sky.png
  • File:Mcpelookingsun0.10.0.png to File:Mcpelookingsun.png
  • File:Desert Temple 14w03a Interior.png to File:Desert Temple Interior.png
  • File:Desert Temple 14w03a.png to File:Excavated Desert Temple.png
  • File:MushroomBiome19pre.png to File:MushroomBiome.png
  • File:1.8 mine shaft with fences.png to File:Abandoned mineshaft with fences.png

PS: I couldnt add this to admin noticeboard

I agree that there's not really any point moving this. It's just cluttering the move log, and it's kind of pointless. Many of the file moves MinecraftPhotos4U have made are really helpful, but these moves don't seem to be. I don't think it's worth moving them back, but I think that MinecraftPhotos4U should probably stop moving files if it's just to get rid of the version number.-- Madminecrafter12Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngTalk to meLight Blue Glazed Terracotta.png 14:00, 15 June 2018 (UTC)
Also, VADemon, why weren't you able to add it to the admin noticeboard? Was the abuse filter stopping you? Just curious, so that I can look into it.-- Madminecrafter12Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngTalk to meLight Blue Glazed Terracotta.png 14:01, 15 June 2018 (UTC)
Yeah, most of his changes are good, but not those. As for the Admin board it said something with "AF" _blocked keywords_ I think? Also I use my private VPN on a dedicated server since it could be related to the IP. VADemon (talk) 22:57, 15 June 2018 (UTC)
@VADemon: Apparently the abuse filter thing (that's the AF) was due to a mistake - a false positive. It was a global AF, so I wasn't able to edit or view the abuse filter itself, but I contacted a Gamepedia Staff and they said it's been fixed now. :)-- Madminecrafter12Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngTalk to meLight Blue Glazed Terracotta.png 00:40, 16 June 2018 (UTC)

Planned edit your vandalism subpage[edit]

Hi! I planned to make some edits to your User:Madminecrafter12/Vandalism subpage and add some more information about reverting vandalism, warning, reporting and blocking vandals, and a table of warning templates and block lengths, and a step-to-step guide to revert vandalism. Please can I make those edits or should you make the edits? psl85 ☎ Talk 10:21, 18 June 2018 (UTC)

@Psl85: Hi there! Right now I would prefer that I'm the only one who edits until I finish the page. However, if you see a grammatical or spelling error or something feel free to correct it, just please don't change anything content wise. Once I finish the page, you can edit it a bit more, such as sentence rewrites, but I still would prefer it if you didn't change anything major as far as content goes - e.g., don't completely change the warning system that's on there. Thanks!-- Madminecrafter12Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngTalk to meLight Blue Glazed Terracotta.png 12:46, 18 June 2018 (UTC)
Okay, I leave it as it is until you are done, while you are done, please notify me so I can rewrite the page and eventually move it to MCW:Vandalism. psl85 ☎ Talk 14:10, 18 June 2018 (UTC)
Psl85 - like I said, I would still prefer it if you didn't change anything major as far as content goes, even when I do finish the page. Also, I would start a discussion before moving it - as the page will include a tiny bit of stuff that might be considered to be policy-like, and it would be a bit too bold to just go ahead and move it. :)-- Madminecrafter12Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngTalk to meLight Blue Glazed Terracotta.png 14:13, 18 June 2018 (UTC)
