this page is intentionally blanked. I mean, the forum backed up. a good 1/2 of a month of edits, gone. there is no use in reconstructing. btw, as I have found with many forums, user talk and user pages are practically run by the user themselves. for example, the official VALVe wiki. just in case anyone thinks I'm acting as a moderator here. --Kizzycocoa 16:43, 19 August 2010 (PDT)

I do apologize for telling notch about the gold hoe durability glitch. sorry! XD --Kizzycocoa 15:03, 21 August 2010 (PDT)

That was a glitch? I thought it was an easter egg... I heard that it was a reference to another game. PurpleKiwi 04:30, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
nope. glitch. and people were sorta mad at me for it XD

Difficulty merging question.[edit]

I'd like to know who wanted to move the page so I can discuss it with them. Right now it makes no sense on the minecraft page since the minecraft page is about what minecraft is. A specific options doesn't pertain to what minecraft is.

I personally found the page needless. difficulty is such a widespread idea, that to discuss it there was silly. it's like explaining what a FPS game is on here. needless information.
However, I was sure that it should stay in some form, so, I talked to quatro to see what he though. he said to move it to Minecraft, and not delete it. so, knowing that I shouldn't delete the information, I moved it.--Kizzycocoa 15:06, 4 September 2010 (CDT)
It is needed. Difficulty may be on many games but if I play MW2 on the easiest difficulty it doesn't make enemies disappear but pigs stay. Or if I play minecraft on the hardest difficulty I get less ammo for my weapons. Difficulty changes on every single game. It needs to be explained what it does. If you don't want the page to be on its own it should be put onto the mob page. Putting it on a nonsensical page is worse than it having its own page though.
in all fairness, it is already on that page. also, in Minecraft, the only changes are spawn rates and health loss/attack power, both of which have pages (mobs Health/Damage). if anything, the difficulty page's content should be removed as it is all there already.--Kizzycocoa 15:21, 4 September 2010 (CDT)
Look at other game wikis. Any of them that have a difficulty setting have a page for it
http://resistance.wikia.com/wiki/Special:Search?search=difficulty&go=1&x=0&y=0
Please note how "difficulty" is actually not deserving of it's own page there, and actually is only put onto pages involving mobs (of the chimera-ish kind).
http://developer.valvesoftware.com/w/index.php?title=Special%3ASearch&search=difficulty&go=Go
Please note how the wiki for the Source Engine does not have difficulty
"but that's a developer wiki!"
https://web.archive.org/web/20121016095314/http://half-life.wikia.com/wiki/Special:Search?search=difficulty&go=1&x=0&y=0
should I really go onwards with my list of wikis?--Kizzycocoa 15:33, 4 September 2010 (CDT)

Revert Trojam's image request[edit]

Trojam recently changed the image for data values. Now it links to an external site of his. This site uses links that bring up craploads of pop-ups and have adds that are obvious scams to infect your computer. I tried editing the image to an older version but it didn't do anything. Could you remove it?

it takes time, and I agree with you. no links should be added. if he is persistant in adding it, regardless of value of the image, the file will have to be removed.--Kizzycocoa 18:19, 8 September 2010 (CDT)
Ehh, I'm sorry, but the links to download do not infect your Computer, they're just ads that give me some money. Can't I get repaid for any hard work of mine? Jeez. Besides, no rule states that this is forbidden! Also, you don't have to visit the site if you don't want to, then nothing can happen. Another also, if you guys are so pissed about it, I could remove the Ads and make it a normal download page, if you guys wouldn't care about that -.- --Trojam 06:25, 9 September 2010 (CDT)
if it had no ads, sure. but it's not that. it's the fact you portray them as official links. scamming people to go somewhere for your own gain is unacceptable. besides, there is NO REASON for it to be there. all it says is "do not remove the created by" thing. and I'm 90% sure no-one will :/
it's an image. not a top-secret beta of half life 3. no offence, but I could make that within a day, and I'd not care about credit going to me.
if you want, feel free to keep the ads. but do so without misleading us. and if you have a link to a file somewhere, make it link to that.--Kizzycocoa 06:45, 9 September 2010 (CDT)

What Is This[edit]

Why did you delete this outright without even a single ounce of discussion? That is quite rude.

You didn't even try to understand the point of the page. You can't search what you don't know, try to search for a saddle without knowing what it is, "orange thing"? Or a record? "Black disk"? Zero results.

If you say you can already look for these, why isn't there a link on the front page for inventory items with pictures of each item?

Think about how people can discover things. This is why people find it hard to use the wiki to learn new information.

--Nexii Malthus 14:50, 13 September 2010 (CDT)

feel free to add redirects. that's what they're there for.--Kizzycocoa 14:56, 13 September 2010 (CDT)
Even with redirects, pictures are worth a thousand words. They would help get people directly to the information they are seeking. Nuking a page is not cool either way unless it is vandalism/trolling/griefing, it is basic wiki etiquette.--Nexii Malthus 15:03, 13 September 2010 (CDT)
wait, didn't you just say that they'd search for "orange thing"? do you really expect us to then link them to every single element in the game, regardless of what they search?--Kizzycocoa 15:36, 13 September 2010 (CDT)
No, he's talking about the nuking of a page that told you what everything was. Megadog 23:28, 15 September 2010 (CDT)
but, if someone searches "orange thing", they will NOT go to that page. it might redirect to saddle or leather. so, it is POINTLESS to have that page.--Kizzycocoa 05:19, 16 September 2010 (CDT)
The point is, they will most likely not go anywhere, and this page, should it be linked to at the main page, would tell them whats what so they can find what they are after.
if they can't find the page, they won't find the main page. I mean, if ANYONE wanted to find ANY specific piece of data on here, the only thing that would be a detriment is lack of intelligence, giving up on finding it through very stupid search descriptions, or living in china, hence not having access to this at all. and frankly, if you can't put effort into finding any item through searching, well, that's your loss.
If you or anyone wants to dispute this, feel free to talk to Quatroking. however, I stand strong in my belief that even he will see this as a silly notion. to list all entities on one page? no. it won't happen. ever.--Kizzycocoa 06:09, 16 September 2010 (CDT)

Contraptions Page[edit]

I do not understand why, without any explanation, you stick by that page being a redirect. I know so many people who have no idea of the capabilities of minecraft, and that page would easily help. You also have not even bothered to say anything in it's discussion page, which means you are either oblivious to it's existance or that you, again without obvious reason, oppose such a usefull page. It would be good for people who want awesome things in their maps too, as there are a lot of things that can not be listed in the wiki currently, that would make places work better. Please, explain. Megadog 23:29, 15 September 2010 (CDT)

*sigh* read the Wiki Rules
Pages that explain strategies/designs or provide guides should be placed as a Tutorial subarticle. (for example, Tutorials/Stockroom design) You're free to link to a strategy/design in other articles as long as they are related to the article's topic.
it is not my fault that you didn't read the rules.--Kizzycocoa 05:22, 16 September 2010 (CDT)
I'm sorry, but until you posted that link, I had no way to acess the rules, as the ones the front page links to, which I assumed were the same page as the ones on the side and the ones you linked me to, HAVE BEEN DELETED.
that is ridiculous. they can be accessed. as I speak, I have clicked the link on the sidebar and seen the wiki rule page was NOT deleted.--Kizzycocoa 07:29, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
Now YOU obviously didn't read what I said. Reread it carefully before replying please.
you decided to pick the most idiotically remote link on the entire page. right on the left, it said wiki rules. sure, the main page had a corrected error, but there are easily accessible ruls on EVERY page. as I type, there is a link to the rules to the right. there's no excuse to take an extra 3 minutes to click a second link.--Kizzycocoa 11:26, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
Again, read it. it quite clearly states "which I assumed were the same page as the ones on the side and the ones you linked me". I useually look at everything ON the front page, then read the side bit of a wiki. So I clicked that rules page first. You have no right to tell me the order I read a page is any more idiotic than that page having been broken for however long.
quite frankly, the fact you even looked at the rule page, and didn't tell a moderator, teamed with the fact you made a page that may be against the rules without any consultation/questioning makes the page deletion justified in itself. even so, if you checked the sidebar after like you said, you'd have seen the wiki rules irregardless of the page's outcome. --Kizzycocoa 18:16, 15 October 2010 (CDT)

sooooo, why did you block MY ip for what WiseMatosis did? -BlueLegion 17:53, 24 September 2010 (UTC)

Cossy Mobblestone[edit]

Please undelete the Cossy Mobblestone page. It is actually the origial Mossy Cobblestone page. It was moved there by a vandal, and then the content was improperly copied back to Mossy Cobblestone by another user in an attempt to fix it. But Cossy Mobblestone and Talk:Cossy Mobblestone still contain the original history and need to be moved back to Mossy Cobblestone and Talk:Mossy Cobblestone. LordAndrew 16:47, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

done. very slow though x.x--Kizzycocoa 18:17, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

Seecret vs secret[edit]

If there was a page on the wiki about the seecret updates, it could be referenced wherever such an update was mentioned, and this would prevent people from correcting the spelling.

no, it would not change. it would only let them get to more pages to "correct" it. it's just frustrating! x.x --Kizzycocoa 14:10, 11 October 2010 (UTC)

mobile version of the wiki[edit]

Hi there! Already asked MrMatthew and he told me to ask you, so here's my question:

I was thinking about creating a mobile version of the wiki, maybe even as an iPhone WebApp to hold all the Information of the wiki in the palm of your hands :D Is there any copyright on any resource of the wiki or is it free to use? I do not want to charge anyone for using it, wanna do it for practice and of course to use it myself since I'm new to minecraft :D Yours, evolon

I cannot do anything, so I've seeked advice from the other admins/hosters. they're asking me to refer you to hello@redstonewire.com, so, uh, yeah. there you go. :3 --Kizzycocoa 11:39, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, but it's probably rotten by the time you'd wake up. as it's a hundred years in the future.--Kizzycocoa 10:46, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
Did you get moderation back or are you removed from office permanently? Jaeil 04:53, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
yep. eventually. it was when the herobrine page was undeleted for the first time.--Kizzycocoa 12:37, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

Revert on 'Gameplay' page[edit]

Hiya, obviously I'm new around here. I was wondering if you could explain your revert here:

[[1]] Your revert reason: (no linking to specific tutorials.)

I was going by the Wiki Rules that states: "Pages that explain strategies/designs or provide guides should be placed as a Tutorial subarticle. (for example, Tutorials/Stockroom design) You're free to link to a strategy/design in other articles as long as they are related to the article's topic."

I'm currently folding in all the relevant information in these named tutes; Tutorials/Pallascat's Guide & Tutorials/Craesius' Guide into the generic Tutorials/Beginner's guide with a view to eventually having the named ones deleted, as putting your name on an article in a wiki isn't usually the done thing.

I thought having one main article linked from the Gameplay page would then be useful to users. As it is they (and a lot of other useful pages) are hidden. I never found the tutorials on here until after I had played the game for weeks.

Your thoughts? --Monotonehell 03:45, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

I was under the impression that, by the rules, no specific tutorial can be linked, especially as generic as a beginner's guide.
I will undo the revert for now, but I will have to discuss some clarification with the moderators.--Kizzycocoa 02:18, 31 October 2010 (CDT)
K, whatever the consensus is. I can understand why guides with people's names on it would be a no-no. But if tutorials themselves are outlawed then I wont bother cleaning up what there are on here already. I'm just trying to organise some things so that users can find what they want. Wikimedia search is good, if you know the name of the article you're searching for. :D --Monotonehell 10:15, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
I've merged and redirected all the introduction tutorials into one wikified article and linked to the tutorials section from Gameplay as was agreed previously. We need to either work out if this wiki should include tutorials, or just nuke the tutorial subsection completely I suppose. But people will keep adding them no matter what we do I bet. --Monotonehell 06:19, 18 November 2010 (CST)
For what it's worth, I believe a generic "Getting Started" guide (aka Beginner's Tutorial) should be linked to the Gameplay page, or even the front page, as this wiki would be a logical first reference point for every new player who buys the game and isn't sure how to play. Although I kind of miss the other two guides. Having a guide written from one person's point of view gives it more flavor, which makes it less wiki, but more enjoyable. Like User pages. --JellyfishGreen 11:57, 18 November 2010 (CST)

Template:Test[edit]

This template is not unused; in fact, it is supposed to be unused, that way it effects nothing in the mainspace. Its purpose is to test templates and template changes without effecting a great number of articles which are already being used by a template. Ddαlus Contribs 16:52, 4 November 2010 (CDT)

It was marked for deletion. so, I deleted it :S should I un-delete it?--Kizzycocoa 17:27, 4 November 2010 (CDT)

Sword items[edit]

nah, just kidding. no problem at all :P--Kizzycocoa 10:01, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

Mobs overhaul[edit]

I have finished it. I am very, very pleased with it. ^^; just wanted to add that. I felt like saying everywhere XD

anyone have any ideas what I could do to improve it? --Kizzycocoa 23:42, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

The only thing I could think of to improve it was to remove the bullets at the beginning of each list in the template. But I fixed that already... I hope you don't mind. :S Otherwise, it really looks great. Much more organized than the Mobs page on its own. -- Toshu (talk) 23:50, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
I am still iffy there. I thought it listed them nicely, as it is sorta chaotic on that template. but, it can easily be changed if anyone dislikes it, so it's not much of an issue ^^ --Kizzycocoa 23:52, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

I apologize[edit]

I was trying to add a period to the sentence, but for some reason it undid your edit.Abce2 00:42, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

no problem, but you can see why I changed it. it's like if red grass was added, someone said "it's red grass", and notch said a while later it was red grass. it's simply wrong to assume someone's the author of that name.--Kizzycocoa 00:44, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

Regarding Giants[edit]

No reason to be removed, they are another unused mob and are in the game just like the mob named "mob"(Which is a human) and the pigman mob (Which I am not sure is even in the game)

you're wrong. they were a test. they aren't used in-game, and are a prefix, much like a slime's size. we don't have pages on prefix mobs yet. so, they go into Mobs. prefix doesn't class it as it's own mob.
also, it is. there is a skin of pigmen in-game, so logically, it will be added.
giants? we have no proof of any upcoming addition, and from what I know, their code is long gone.--Kizzycocoa 20:59, 6 November 2010 (CDT)
I must also re-iterate the prefix mob part, as it seems the end point seems to be "not added, doesn't belong". while this is true, this is not confined to giants. it also applies to prefix mobs. there are no new mobs with giants. just variations. --Kizzycocoa 21:02, 6 November 2010 (CDT)

The code for Giants is still in the game and they can still be spawned. I have proof -> video --Nicknam4 02:07, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

regardless, they are, if anything, a prefix mob. they do not deserve a section on the mob template or main picture space, let alone any mention whatsoever. feel free to add it to the Zombie page, but it does not belong there.--Kizzycocoa 02:09, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Regular Pigmen are a prefix mob too then, correct? If so, they deserve the spot as much as a Giant would. In the game a Giant is a completley different mob than the zombie. End of story. --Nicknam4 21:11, 6 November 2010 (CDT)

look, I'm getting tired of this. stop it before I have to ban you. they are a prefix if anything. if I see the page change one more time without admin consent (EG, ask quatro for a second opinion), I will' ban you.
also, pigmen are unique enough to not be a prefix. giants can happen with ANY mob. it is a prefix. to say pigmen are a prefix of zombie pigmen, is like saying skeletons are a prefix of zombies, as all the rotten flesh has eroded away.--Kizzycocoa 02:14, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

You are not making any sense to me. Skeletons are not like zombies at all because they behave differently. Pigmen and zombie pigmen have not been confirmed to be different at all (to my knowledge) and are not even in the game yet. Giants are much different from zombies because they are much larger and behave differently.

My biggest point is this: Giants are an unused mob so WHY should they not be in the unused mob category?--Nicknam4 21:19, 6 November 2010 (CDT)

BECAUSE THEY ARE PREFIX MOBS
god damn it, can't you understand? prefix mobs are NOT the same as mobs. and frankly, these giants are NOT going to be limited to zombies if ever implemented. as such, they do NOT deserve a page. ask quatro, but I will be completely against it, and any further edit without consulting the lead moderator will cause me to ban you for messing up the page.--Kizzycocoa 02:28, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Dammit, for the last time, if Giants are prefix mobs then SO ARE PIGMEN/ZOMBIEPIGMEN! A Zombiepigman is simply a zombie version of the pigman, so by your standards they do not deserve a page either.--Nicknam4 21:24, 6 November 2010 (CDT)

hey, lets just remove zombie pigs! they're a prefix of pigs! lets remove humand, because they are the same colour! skeletons are zombies without flesh, lets remove them! and I'm sure creepers are an incestrious slurry of skeleton and slime, so lets remove him too!
in case you can't tell, that was sarcasm /obvious --Kizzycocoa 02:28, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

If you think that removing zombiepigmen is ridiculous then you contradict yourself. Pigmen are no more different from Zombie Pigmen than Giants are different from Zombies. Period. Why is this so hard for you to understand? Why must you use sarcasm and insults in your argument? Those are signs of stubbornness in my eyes.

Stop arguing about prefix or not when prefixes are not even implemented yet. When the update comes, we will see, and we will edit the wiki accordingly. Imho it does not make sense to add giants to unused mobs beforehand, but maybe there should be a page for prefixes where they (and the zombie prefix) can be mentioned. Also, when the "zombie" part of zombie pigmen will be a prefix, we can still change the zombie pigmen article to just pigmen. About the statement "Pigmen are no more different from Zombie Pigmen than Giants are different from Zombies.": Yes, they are different, because no giant was implemented yet, and zombies are. Zombies and zombiepigmen are CURRENT mobs, while giants are possible FUTURE prefixes. We cant overhaul the whole Mobs page on assumptions and speculations alone. --BlueLegion 02:55, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Giants actually are already in the game, they just do not spawn. ;) --Nicknam4 22:01, 6 November 2010 (CDT)

ok, I will openly admit, last night, I was grouchy and frustrated. you were making bad edits for the last few hours, and there was an issue I had with another admin on IRC, and frankly, I was getting pissed off by your edits. so I admit I threw logic out of the window.
in game-terms, giants will be prefixes. there is really no avoiding that. as they are prefixes, they don't deserve mention on that page, as prefixes aren't technically new mobs.
however, I'd happily allow a prefix page, but we have next to no prefixes. and zombie pigmen cannot be counted, as we have no idea how the two will be different. if zombie pigmen only appear in hell, I'd say it's fair to let them have their own page.
I must apologise for my grouchiness, but I was already annoyed by your previous edits and admin issues.--Kizzycocoa 07:45, 7 November 2010 (CST)
By definition, "Zombie" pigman (and zombie(s) in general, as just "zombie" usually means "zombie human") are "prefix" mobs by the definition of prefix just as much as "giant" is: Link That is, both can "Giant" and "zombie" come before and modify "pigman", "human", cow, sheep, chicken, and etc. If Giant mobs can indeed be spawned in the current game, then they are a prefix mob ("Giant+zombie+human") and they are unused. "Zombie pigmen" are therefore a neutral prefix mob. To drive the point home, skeletons are a prefix of "skeleton human" - Therefore there could just as well be a future "skeleton pigman", cow, spider, chicken, etc just as much as we have zombie pigmen right now. Now, I'm not saying skeleton pigmen exist or will exist, but it is a practical example. - My two cents made as logical and methodical as possible --Fishrock123 23:19, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
In the end, this wiki is for Minecraft players who see a zombie in the game and want to know more. The zombie pigmen must stay until prefixes are implemented to apply to all the base mobs, as with no specific system for prefixes zombie pigmen are for all intents and purposes a unique mob. If prefixes are implemeted, change away. Until then, giants, not seen ingame or in the game pictures by reskinners, remain a footnote on the mobs page. Zombie pigmen, the death of many a newb, have their own page. Jaeil 23:40, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
Understood; However, may I ask what use it is to have Humans, Pigmen, and the "Unused" category if other unused mobs are counted differently? If it is in the game code, and not normally useable, but *can* be used, should it not be added to the unused category like the others? Is it not true that humans [[EDIT: Normal Pigmen will be added, my Bad]] may never be fully added either? (But feel free to civily correct me if I am wrong.) --Fishrock123 00:56, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
they are there due to the fact that humanss were spawnable once by pressing Q, and are still used. you are human, as well as other SMP characters. you all use that mob code daily, but it is unused as you do not see it. it just helps to keep confusion down.
as for pigmen, they have a skin in the JAR, and a little code. but, we keep it as it is a zombie-human situation. until we get proper prefixes, I think it'll stay that way.--Kizzycocoa 08:35, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

Minecraft Coder Pack[edit]

No worries the lock on the Minecraft Coder Pack page Kizzycocoa. We appreciate all the work that Notch and you yourself have put into this and have no intentions of purposefully undermining it. Thanks for looking into it and please let us know if there's any future issues. MikeMulligan 18:51, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

Thanks. I will. I hope there are no hard feelings, but when we hear "decompile" and "classes", we think about hacking and distributing the JAR file. I hear quatro talked to Notch himself, so it's fairly likely the message on the blog was sturred by that very discussion.
still, it's up for good now, so that's good ^^ I'll tell you if there are further issues arising! ^^ --Kizzycocoa 18:58, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

oh, it seems to have been shorter. sincde the 11th. well, I see things longer than they are. but it's been an issue for a long time, but I can see it would be unlikely you would have seen it in that half week it was up. we need a rule-update-email thing.--Kizzycocoa 08:39, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

Crafting page: Oops, sorry.[edit]

I didn't realize that there were edits between when I had copied the page and when I had finished. I will attempt to redo those edits on the temp page I was using. Riking 00:49, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

no problem. in fact, if you merely copy the craft table, you may be able to simply move the new table in.--Kizzycocoa 18:49, 19 November 2010 (CST)

Pages pending move/merge/deletion?[edit]

Hi, would you mind having a look at the categories for pages pending move/merge/deletion and fix the articles mentioned? The list is getting pretty long with useless articles. Thanks! -F1racer101 11:37, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

I shall have a look at it. but no link makes me :C . :P --Kizzycocoa 07:56, 21 November 2010 (CST)

Remove mandatory preview[edit]

Who's choice was it to force previewing on every edit? I'd like to request that it be removed. It's completely redundant in everyday editing because those who know about it can just click preview before they begin to edit a page and then edit on the preview screen, changing as much as they want without having to deal with it again.

As for the benefit of having such a system, I believe as much as humanly possible that it's only hurting the wiki. Most of the edits coming out of this wiki are from a very small amount of users performing mass editing and maintenance tasks (of which this wiki is in dire need of) but the forced preview just makes these tasks much more laborious and slow with little real benefit, and the "hit preview before editing anything" option isn't a decent workaround in situations when you have 30 minepedia pages open in your browser. Not to mention these wiki-literate users are more than capable of making the choice of using preview themselves in situations which call for it.

We have people more or less around the clock either checking edits as they come via recentchanges, or skimming through pages for grammatical or factual errors anyway- the preview button isn't necessary, you can't fix stupid, and there will always be people not signing, or breaking templates, or categories and the like. IMO this forced preview thing is redundant.

I'm hoping you, or whoever has power over changing this, is at least willing to be open to conversation regarding this, because it's the only wiki I know which does it and it's driving me crazy. ACLECTASIS 12:15, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

The head admin on this board is Quatroking. You may want to take this up with him. I like the idea btw! -F1racer101 06:25, 21 November 2010 (CST)
yeah, he is the one who sorts this stuff out :P --Kizzycocoa 13:54, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

then go to his talk page ^^--Kizzycocoa 20:08, 26 November 2010 (CST)

hmm[edit]

I highly respect you but don't you think you're a bit too selfish? Every discussion I've ever started should have some sense. You're making a final decision without letting anyone else give any opinion. Okay... I gave up in the survival page because it was 3 vs 1, fine. But the template:minecraft and zombie siege ones haven't even started.

If you've seen my edits, you'd see that I'm very serious in this wiki. If I'm wrong then okay! But can't you just let the discussion go on until everyone agrees? Or is this wiki just so lonely that only you and I exist? --Scykei 04:36, 23 November 2010 (CST)

the fact is, you edit without thinking. you edit first, talk later, and that is just the tip of the frustration-berg
then, you do not understand why everyone thinks differently to you, and don't seem to get the fact that EVERYONE sees survival test as part of the development cycle.
then, to top it off, once one flame war is over, you go and try to ignite another, marking a page for deletion without ANY talking beforehand. NO discussion took place about that delete tag.
those are just a few reasons why I'm VERY frustrated at the moment. you don't allow for anyone to agree. you just do it, then you discuss the edit you just made. and it's things like that which frustrate the hell out of us admins, because then there is potentially wrongful edits made that are shown to the public.
and now, there is another potential flame war in motion, and I know how it'll end, but it won't without everyone attempting to convince you you're wrong, and in the end, you'll go off bitter, we'll go off bitter and all that will remain is a 5-page reminder of this.--Kizzycocoa 10:51, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
Yup okay, I agree with you. Although I'm not sure where I've edited first without talking. I've only put the delete tag to show it's being voted for deletion because we don't have any sort of vfd. Hmm... okay, whatever, you're always right. I'm sure everyone else agrees with you. --Scykei 04:57, 23 November 2010 (CST)
resorting to sarcasm, huh?
believe it or not, this is not my wiki. I just help moderate it. and every now and then, even te best of us get frustrated.
I'd advise you to wait for more opinions, and not let this topic turn into a full scale war.
but the delete tag is used to draw admins attention that the page needs deletion. not to draw discussion interest.--Kizzycocoa 12:01, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
No seriously. I'm merely being too stubborn and do not deserve to be in this wiki. I request a permanent read-only ban from here. I don't want to cause any more trouble in here. I hope you forgive and forget anything that I've said. Don't want to go leaving a bad memory. Sorry for everything I've done. Besides, I've probably wasted too much time here. Goodbye. --Scykei 12:47, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
you know, you really do reinforce my points so strongly sometimes. stop it.--Kizzycocoa 13:02, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
I already have. Ban me. I'm addicted to the wiki. I hope I can still view it though :( --Scykei 07:30, 23 November 2010 (CST)
no-one's banning anyone. I certainly wouldn't ban for edits like that. it frustrates me, but it doesn't warrant a ban.--Kizzycocoa 13:39, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
No, I just don't have the will power to stop visiting the wiki. I need my time back. It's a request. D: --Scykei 07:47, 23 November 2010 (CST)
I'm not fulfilling this request. there has been enough drama already. this would be an abuse of admin powers.--Kizzycocoa 14:05, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

Advice?[edit]

There was Talk:Redstone_circuits#advanced_circuits this idea on the redstone circuits page. I don't think it's my place to do that but it's kind of a neat idea for those of us who experiment with redstone. The forums are not particularly useful for advanced circuitry and giving them a place on the wiki would help and encourage users to develop better circuits.

Also I realise I've been very active the past couple of days please write me if what I'm doing is getting in the way somehow :D . Thank you for your hard work here.

Metalhannes 00:48, 26 November 2010 (UTC)

I say yes. ^^

HOWEVER, that page is too cluttered! make a new page if you wish to do that! ^^ like, Redstone_circuits/Advanced_circuits.

and thanks for that! I do what I can :3 --Kizzycocoa 04:44, 26 November 2010 (CST)

Deletion of Rain Page[edit]

Sorry if I'm saying this in the wrong place, but I went to create the "Rain" page and I see that it has been deleted. May I ask why it was deleted?

IKaleb 17:42, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

ah. god, dumb kizzycocoa! I'll un-delete the page. However, I think it should be merged into Biomes--Kizzycocoa 12:57, 28 November 2010 (CST)

Capitalization[edit]

For Redstone (Dust) and Redstone (Ore) I would like to make these Redstone (dust) and Redstone (ore) as they are not proper nouns or anything. For Redstone, I have always been capitalizing it(within articles). I'm reconsidering that too though. Wikipedia:Naming_conventions_(capitalization) has some information. As an admin, What do you say?

I think the current defines the title more.
however, if the other way is correct, we must attempt to correct it.
there's gonna be so much fixing and redirecting if this happens. SO MUCH. x.x
your call.--Kizzycocoa 11:22, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

why did you delete my page?[edit]

it contained information on not getting lost, it has happened to me and others im sure. it was helpful i thought.

Violation if wiki rule #3, #4 and #8 --Kizzycocoa 13:27, 4 December 2010 (CST)

I can move it to the tutorials section (which i didn't know existed :P) and i can try to get some images. will it be good then? because i feel that getting lost is the most frustrating thing especially when underground in a cavern you have all ready explored thoroughly --User:maverickx

there is also already an article that -helps- with getting lost. see Tutorials/Navigation.--Kizzycocoa 19:51, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
oh ok... i guess i should look into that section more to see if there's pages in all ready. thanks for the heads up! --User:maverickx
no problem. but just remember, anything formal like that "here's how to do X", "what to do if Y" and sometimes even, "I am being eaten by a phallic Z" are all not allowed in mainspace, and goes under your username, or in Tutorials.--Kizzycocoa 20:00, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

Beta Page[edit]

Why did you delete it? Drenay 15:38, 11 December 2010 (CST)

it is not allowed, and is a violation of Wiki rules #4 --Kizzycocoa 15:41, 11 December 2010 (CST)

yes. there is also information about what was released when minecraft entered beta, so be sure to add that too! --Kizzycocoa 18:37, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

Cake[edit]

it's not "real", but plans are in place to make it so. --Kizzycocoa 06:09, 17 December 2010 (CST)

Knowing notch, he'll keep the cake as a lie. GLaDOS, sir of thy broken
Can I make a cake page? Drenay 13:46, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
Currently, if you do, it'd be called speculation, as the cake is a lie. so no, I'd wait until notch adds it. GLaDOS, sir of thy broken
O.K. , going with your advice; but what about the lantern page? Drenay 13:54, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
It has been "Confirmed" by notch, thus, it has a page. The cake, however, is an inside joke of being a lie, and notch could be fooling us all, and he hasn't confirmed it yet either. Believe me, I'd been onto the "Cake" page by now. GLaDOS, sir of thy broken
cake has been confirmed, but only if it wins the IGoTY award. but that variable makes it not worthy of a page.--Kizzycocoa 07:58, 17 December 2010 (CST)
Beta has been confirmed as well, but that doesn't have a page yet... I think the rules about what does and doesn't go into the wiki need a little clarification here. --DannyF1966 14:57, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
We know NOTHING about the beta-alpha transition. at all.--Kizzycocoa 09:36, 17 December 2010 (CST)
We know about the price increase, we know about the tentative date, we know about the change in the licence. We know it's the next stage of development, and we know about the gift codes. All in all, I'd say we know a lot more about Beta than we do about, for example, Lanterns. --DannyF1966 15:57, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
price, date and availability, yes. that's half a sentence done gift code? already out. stage of development that's another half of a sentence. you have a one-sentence page. not worth it.
now, lanterns. they are different. the switch of torch/lanterns, the fact it will be like torches block-wise, the fact that it's introduction will cause torches to go out. the fact it'll be hard to make. the possibility of being made with lightstone. I could likely go on. you got yourself a whole paragraph and a half there.--Kizzycocoa 16:35, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

Deletion of Podcasts?[edit]

What are the reasons for such deletion? - RegularOli 13:29, 19 December 2010 (CST)

Violation of wiki rules #11, and to a lesser extent, #16 subsection A.
of course, I assume all users have read the rules, and as such, don't put them down. I revert/delete so much, that it would waste hours of my time manually typing them.--Kizzycocoa 13:33, 19 December 2010 (CST)

Help[edit]

In Notch's blog, it mentions a rare/hidden block/item. Do you know what it is? Drenay 13:53, 20 December 2010 (CST)

1)no, it doesn't.
2)no. no idea.--Kizzycocoa 13:55, 20 December 2010 (CST)
Yes, it does mentions a rare thing. Quote," .. and something else, which is even more rare." Drenay 13:58, 20 December 2010 (CST)
I do not see block or item mentioned there at all.--Kizzycocoa 13:59, 20 December 2010 (CST)
don't do that.--Kizzycocoa 14:06, 20 December 2010 (CST)
Do you see the the line of text saying, " .. and something else, which is even more rare." It is at the bottom of the list. Drenay 20:10, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
I repeat, at NO point in there did it suggest it was a block or item. also, I have no idea what it is.--Kizzycocoa 14:09, 20 December 2010 (CST)
I CHANGED what I was saying to THING. Drenay 14:13, 20 December 2010 (CST)
changed back. I want things to make sense on my user talk. no retconing allowed. as for knowing, I have no idea. quite honestly, this moment in time, I feel the most disconnected to mojang that I ever have. they won't tell me anything. so, yeah.--Kizzycocoa 20:18, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

Is there a way to upload sound files?[edit]

I think it would be nice if you could hear the mob sounds on their pages.

no idea.--Kizzycocoa 10:14, 23 December 2010 (CST)

Records/Music disks[edit]

How do you craft records? Drenay 12:17, 23 December 2010 (CST)

You can't craft records, they drop when a skeleton kills a creeper. They can also rarely be found in dungeons. -SwiftShade
damn ninjas everywhere! XD
but yes, I must however stress the skeleton only needs to deal the final blow to a creeper--Kizzycocoa 12:24, 23 December 2010 (CST)

Christmas[edit]

Have you noticed that today we are all wearing cloaks? Drenay 15:45, 24 December 2010 (UTC) Christmas Cloaks!!!

We've noticed, pages about these cloaks break Wiki Rule #3 (and #4) IKJames 09:47, 24 December 2010 (CST)
Cloaks should be mentioned somewhere on the wiki, even if only in a trivia section on the Beta page. --User:DannyF1966 DannyF1966 16:26, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
I need to find a place to put this image for the community to know about. This is not custom, use the default skin and press F5. Drenay 16:33, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
Anyways, how does a page about cloaks break rule #3? Drenay 19:39, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
I have to say, it was not rule three we were following a few days ago. it was rule 7. But now it's official, I see no issue with the page.--Kizzycocoa 19:49, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
(edit conflict) Drenay: An entire page about them would be about 3 sentences long, with no possibility of expansion (unless they somehow become permanent later on). The cloaks will very probably be gone in a few days. (permanent stub articles are a thing to avoid...)
However, I'd suggest adding those sentences and the image to the skin page, in a new section at the very bottom. -- Ephemeris 13:50, 24 December 2010 (CST)
Okay, it's been done. Drenay 14:05, 24 December 2010 (CST)
