Realms Tutorials[edit]

I can see your reasoning for moving the Realms tutorials to Tutorials/Minecraft Realms, but I think it prudent to keep them on the Realms page with a link on the tutorials page to their sections. The Realms page was meant to give information about Realms as well as show how to use it. Just a thought.

While I agree with you that discussing how realms works on the Realms page is useful, I believe that the content was more suited to the tutorials pages. Perhaps you could ask in the community portal, I am open to change. GoandgooTalk

Video pages[edit]

I have given you Wiki Guardian status. This should allow you to deal with the video pages as needed. -- Wynthyst Image:User Wynthyst sig icon.png talk 16:09, 14 April 2014 (UTC)

I don't know why, but I feel the need to apologise to you. :(

I'm sorry if my contributions have annoyed you or the other admins at all. If you want me to stop, I will. :)

EthanCentaurai (talk) 12:36, 30 April 2014 (UTC)

When did you ever do anything wrong? Looking at your contributions, it looks like you've contributed a lot to the wiki including reverting vandalism, helping to make it better for all who use it. There's no need to apologise to myself or any of the other admins, keep doing what you do! GoandgooTalk

Thank you. This has made me feel a lot better. :)
I suffer from a sensitivity complex which makes me feel like I'm in the way or like someone is angry/upset at me. I felt it very strongly after creating the 14w18a page, as though someone said "God damn it Ethan, I was about to post that!" I suppose if I really had done something wrong, I would have been reverted or banned by now. :P
EthanCentaurai (talk) 13:07, 30 April 2014 (UTC)
If it helps at all, let me assure you that no one would have been mad if they'd been about to post that page and you beat them to the punch - and if they were, they're the one with the problem, not you. =) As Goandgoo said, your contributions so far are fine (amazing, really, hardly just fine! =D ), and you absolutely should tell your complex to go annoy someone else. Beginner's guide reversion.[edit]

Pardon me, but (1) giant mushrooms that are already spawned may be shelters of convenience, but are not a "Portable Instant Shelter", and (2) Actually growing a Giant Red Mushroom around you requires bonemeal, and this article is specifically talking about the first night, before you've even found a loose bone in the morning. --MentalMouse42 (talk) 11:39, 12 May 2014 (UTC)

Apologies, I have reworded that phrase to make it clearer that they are shelters of convenience. GoandgooTalk
12:28, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
Thank you, that looks much better. ETA: I did re-add the food mention, as that's darn useful. --MentalMouse42 (talk) 14:09, 12 May 2014 (UTC)

extra space[edit]

What's with this edit? Is there any particular reason you added the extra space, or was it a mistake? —F‌enhl 03:39, 4 July 2014 (UTC)

I added the extra space according to the style guide: "After references (double space) will be any applicable navigation templates, like {{blocks}}, and then any applicable categories." GoandgooTalk
00:43, 5 July 2014 (UTC)
Oh, that's what that means. I always took it to mean double as in two newlines. Perhaps that should be clarified. —F‌enhl 01:18, 5 July 2014 (UTC)

Hello, good morning, I see the 1.7.2 snapshot pages are coming along nicely. I'd like to iron out a wrinkle I see possibly arising. The lead text in the 1.7.2 snapshot pages all say they are for 1.7.2, so following suit, I put the nextparent argument in the navbox to be 1.7.2. In general I like the language of it, saying it's for 1,7.2 rather than for 1.7, I think it's clear, unambiguous and consistent.

In contrast, the snapshot pages for 1.8 all say they are "for 1.8" and likewise the nextparents are 1.8 -- but what happens if 1.8 is released as 1.8.1 or something like that? Should we take the time at this stage to use variables in those instances, or wait until that should happen, or do you have any other thoughts on how the language of it can be best communicated? – Sealbudsman (Aaron) (talk) – 13:38, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

Yes I see what you mean. However, I think it makes it a bit more confusing because you have changed the nextparent argument to be 1.7.2 (the version the snapshot is for) and the prevparent to be 1.6.4, the previous version released. I think that specifying the exact version it is released (ie changing everything to 1.8.1 should it arise) makes more sense, but I think prevparent should go to the last version. ie for all 1.7.2 snapshots should go to 1.6.4, for all 1.8 snapshots it should go to 1.7.10, for 1.7.4 snapshots should go to 1.7.2, for 1.6.4 snapshots should go to 1.6.1 etc. I think the nexparent should go to the next version, so all 1.7.2 snapshots go to 1.7.4, all 1.7.4 snapshots go to 1.7.6, etc. This way, in the version that the snapshot is actually from is only shown in the snapshot from column above, rather than in the navigation links. GoandgooTalk

I see, so the 'parent' nav links will then go to previous and next version with respect to (for instance if it's a 1.7.4 snapshot) 1.7.4, so: 1.7.2 and 1.7.5. I do think that's a good way to do it.. though if I understand you, I think this means that for the 1.8 snapshot pages, the link pointing forward to 1.8 is actually redundant, and should be replaced (when the time comes) with whatever is the second 1.8 release. It wouldn't point to 1.8, or 1.8.1 (supposing that's the first release), but the one after. Does this sound right? – Sealbudsman (Aaron) (talk) – 14:29, 1 August 2014 (UTC)
Yes, that's right. GoandgooTalk

PS Vita Edition already released[edit]

Hi Goandgoo! Minecraft: PlayStation Vita Edition has already been released on October 14 in North America and October 15 in Europe. I don't know why nobody has updated the main page of MineCraft Wiki to reflect it by now. As a Minecraft Wiki admin, could you please do it? Thanks! -- 13:23, 17 October 2014 (UTC)

Wiki guardian[edit]

What are technical differences between normal admins and Gamepedia wiki guardians? --Naista2002Talk
18:39, 5 December 2014 (UTC)

Naista2002: See here. –LauraFi · talk 19:05, 5 December 2014 (UTC)
(edit conflict)Notable differences I know include guardian activity logs being sent to curse, and lack of a few rights, notably lack of the nuke right.
Other than that, administrators tend to be promoted by a wiki bureaucrat, while guardians tend to be promoted by curse due to a lack of administrators in general or in an area of the wiki. Refer to gphelp:Wiki Guardian and gphelp:Claim This Wiki. KnightMiner (t·c) 19:12, 5 December 2014 (UTC)
Basically guardians have most of the admin tools but are promoted for a specific purpose - for me it was for all the curse videos. GoandgooTalk
