There is an article on the wiki regarding Herobrine which contains correct information. The rest are jokes made up by the community. --HelenAngel (talk) 21:21, 20 January 2017 (UTC)

They are real. Also, please note that admins are not Minecraft developers. However, HelenAngel is a Minecraft developer. The BlobsPaper.png 03:26, 20 January 2017 (UTC)

Java Edition[edit source]

The official name of the "Computer Edition" is "Java Edition", and has been confirmed as "Java" by the devs. It is to space it away from the Windows 10 Edition. – NixinovaGrid Book and Quill.png Grid Diamond Pickaxe.png Grid Map.png • 04:23, 15 June 2017 (UTC)

I don't disagree that the Java Edition name is less confusing. However, the changes have not officially been implemented yet, and thus we should wait before changing the name, or as a wiki decide when is the right time to change references of computer editions to the Java Edition. There are a lot of places which will require a name change (e.g. the front page, the computer versions template etc), so it is better that we do it all together in a systematic fashion rather than changing certain pieces in an ad hoc fashion. That is what MCW:Projects/Renaming is for; we are trying to change all the names. – NixinovaGrid Book and Quill.png Grid Diamond Pickaxe.png Grid Map.png • 07:25, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
Yes, but my assumption from various comments on the community portal discussion and the Pocket Edition discussion is that we would wait to see how things actually start to play out and avoid rushing into changes before making any changes with regards to the Renaming project. GoandgooTalk

PE 1.1.5 released[edit source]

Pocket Edition 1.1.5 was released today. I created the version history page and updated the recent news on Main Page/editcopy. I haven't done this kind of work on the wiki before, so do you know if I've missed anything? Also, Module:Version/Numbers needs to be updated. Would you do that or is there someone else I should ask? Thanks. – Auldrick (talk · contribs) 00:28, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

URGENT please answer as soon as possible[edit source]

Hi I'm really sorry to bother you but I'm really impatient about my situation

My PS3 mincraft wont load I was logging in to minecraft as usual I pressed play... My page of servers wouldn't load. I gave it lots of time to load but it wouldn't.

I've tried making a page about it but since I'm a new user I couldn't it told me I should talk to an admin, since I saw you were a pro I decided to tell you.

I hope you have a great day and I hope you can help me. Once again I'm sorry for bothering you.

@Lafbartoota: For issues such as these please contact the Mojang Support Center to get support from Mojang; the wiki doesn't deal with account or game issues. Also I wouldn't recommend putting your email on here since anyone can see it. -Sonicwave (talk|c) 19:55, 4 September 2017 (UTC)

I just did that but I don't understand why no answers came up. Please help.

Template:Exclusive[edit source]

I left a reply on the talk page but maybe you're not watching it. I can fix the category population, but it doesn't actually have a specific pocket parameter. When given such a parameter, it will just default to generating "Pocket Edition only" and using Pocket Edition.png for the logo. Essentially, it assumes that we'll change {{Exclusive|pocket}} to {{Exclusive|bedrock}} wherever it occurs. Do we need to short-circuit it, so it treats "pocket" like "bedrock"? If so, I'll add that too. --– Auldrick (talk · contribs) 03:23, 1 October 2017 (UTC)

Never mind. I fixed the category population, and I don't think the pocket parameter was ever used with this template anyway. --– Auldrick (talk · contribs) 04:37, 1 October 2017 (UTC)

No worries, sorry for not seeing your earlier message, thanks for making the fixes to the template. GoandgooTalk

Possible need for discussion on eliminating Java orientation[edit source]

I was reviewing Tick and noticed its Java orientation. I thought about how to balance it by creating separate sections for different editions' specific information, but realized that I wouldn't have anything to say for Bedrock (let alone Legacy Console). The Java details ultimately came, I assume, from examining the jar files, but we have no source for equivalent details in the other editions. I have noted this problem frequently in lots of articles on game mechanics. We've said we want to remove Java orientation but we have almost no authoritative sources of equivalent information about any other edition. All we actually have is rare comments from the devs, typically in bug reports or new articles, about algorithmic details. I feel like we need to have a discussion about what we can do to ameliorate this problem, or possibly get the details we need to do what we (at least I) envisioned.

Eliminating the Java orientation was most recently discussed on the Renaming project talk page, but it's a little outside the scope and that project has passed the active discussion stage anyway. Do you think we need to start a new project for de-orientation, or is that premature? Should I try to elicit comments on MCW:Community portal first?--– Auldrick (talk · contribs) 15:35, 1 October 2017 (UTC)

Hmm I agree this is definitely a problem the wiki has in general. Perhaps you could bring this up in the Community Portal, but I think before we think about the deorientation of the Java version, we should begin to progress with systematically changing the edition names over all the various pages in the wiki (as per the project). Template:Bedrock Edition and Category:Bedrock Edition only[edit source]

On September 30 you added Category:Bedrock Edition only to Template:Bedrock Edition. Consequently, all pages that have the BE navbox are being categorized as having Bedrock-exclusive features. Did you mean to do that? I might be confused about what the category is for, since the "only" suffix is misleading and we have Category:Bedrock Edition specific information that seems to have a similar purpose. --– Auldrick (talk · contribs) 17:40, 4 October 2017 (UTC)

Oh my bad, I think instead of Category:Bedrock Edition only the pages should go to Category:Bedrock Edition instead. GoandgooTalk

Problem[edit source]

I am a new user with no posts. I tried to post something but it showed i need to talk to a admin. But i can prove that i am a nice guy. Some people say i am not a good guy but they are wrong. I love people and family and friends so as people i know. I am trustworthy. So please give me one chance –Preceding unsigned comment was added by Killcokid (talkcontribs) at 17:52, 15 October 2017 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Killcokid:: The wiki has an abuse filter that tends to be harsh with new users; making large edits or adding external links tends to trigger it. You could try to make smaller edits, and the filter should lighten up once you made around 10 edits. -Sonicwave (talk|c) 01:20, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
