I picked a color from the original (colored) grass texture that you can find in Minecraft classic and BlockCSS.png. i then put the lightest green where the brightest gray was on the vines, i then proceeded to the next color and so forth.--2XMM2 22:24, 2 September 2011 (UTC)

Block renders[]

Hey, I noticed you've done some pretty good block renders. They look quite similar to mine (even the lighting looks pretty similar). I was wondering if you'd want my set of .blend files (if you use blender), so that there's someone able to render the images as a backup, if ever I'm not around (or sleeping! :P)? Mainly so lighting and texture rotation is kept consistent, but also so you don't have to go modelling all the non-standard shaped blocks.

Also, because you're rendering the images, you are allowed you set your own license (although I'd recommend you have Mojang on there as well; I'm going to go through all my renders and put it in there eventually). Personally I use cc-by-nc. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 12:58, 4 September 2011 (UTC)

Google SketchUp? Now I'm even more impressed, last time I tried it, it produced horrible quality images. I'll zip the blend files up when I have a chance, but blender is a bit difficult to learn. Here. The 1.8 terrain.png should be packaged with them, if not find out how to select a different texture and replace it with one that's the same dimensions as the terrain.png. Please remember when uploading images made by these files (that doesn't include any custom models you make) to use {{license cc-by-nc}} and {{license Mojang}} and if anyone is asking to use a render (at least for commercial purposes), direct them to me to sort out. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 02:04, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

About Isometric Images[]

As a top editor at BioShock Wiki for nearly two years or so, coming here I wish to contribute just as much. Although I'm new, I was wondering how I could make isometric images, as well. I tried looking it up, but trying such term combinations as "import minecraft isometric" returned a flood of "import 3d models into minecraft1" type links. The only program I found was something in-browser claiming to open .java files, but the Import button didn't work at all. Would you be willing to help me with this? I don't want to take territory that belongs to you, I just wish to contribute such things. MegaScience 13:58, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

The program i use to make isometric images is Google SketchUp. It is a free 3D modelling program that is easy to use. --2XMM2 20:46, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, but mobs are easy to model, because they are all blocks and every pixel on the texture is exactly 0,0625 m on the mob. --2XMM2 19:48, 27 September 2011 (UTC)

You might not need to, Barracuda has worked out how to extract the models from minecraft, and if he can get the 1.9 models done, then the render can be made from that. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 07:46, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
