explain
class[]
The Monobook skin in vanilla MediaWiki has an explain
class styled as follows:
abbr, acronym, .explain { border-bottom: 1px dotted; cursor: help; }
Since this class unfortunately doesn't work here, and because the abbr
and acronym
HTML elements have specific semantic meanings making it inappropriate to use them to achieve purely stylistic effects, I think this class should be added to MediaWiki:Common.css or MediaWiki:Hydra.css and this template changed to use it. Advise not using tooltip unless necessary[]
I think it's a bad idea to use tooltip. The tooltip text can't be searched for or copied. The tooltip mark is not obvious, and beginners may be confused when they see a tooltip such as these three values, if they don't know they should hover on the text. Also, if I view a page with a phone, the tooltip can't be displayed at all. Instead of tooltip, I think it may be better to list them all or collapse them (like scoreboard#criteria) if necessary. --SolidBlock (not good at English!) 11:32, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
