Where's the content?[edit]

I was trying to reorganize/reformat/clean this when I realized there is very little content on this page that isn't elsewhere, and in better detail in that other place. Does this do anything for the wiki that the list of general tutorials and farming tutorials doesn't?

This page needs a major overhaul, but before I jump into that, I wanted to know if there is a purpose for this page at all?Qcdynamics 01:00, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, there isn't much on this page that isn't on other pages, but this gives it all to you in one big summery. I use this page all the time to find new ways to expand and make my house look and feel better and cooler. Without this page, you'd have to jump around quite a bit in order to get everything you need. JayTheBlue 22:15, 15 August 2011 (UTC)

Rebuilding Wall Error[edit]

The description of the self rebuilding wall says it needs pistons. This isn't correct, as the concept of the self rebuilding wall has been around far longer than pistons have! As an example, see this video: [1]

I think that when the page was made the creators and or editors probobly did not know that you could make a self rebuilding wall without pistons jest because it has been too long. the vidio was made 2 years ago and was forgoten about or jest never seen by the new players because it is old. --Fallonsky 20:12, 25 July 2012 (UTC)

Missing Mob-drops[edit]

It says that a mob grinder doesn't give string or spider eyes. This isn't always true, as cactus can be placed to kill any spiders that would clog the grinder and their drops can still be funneled down. 96.241.54.113 22:20, 28 February 2012 (UTC) (Rhou17)

Potentially Misleading Info for Beginner Players[edit]

This is nitpicking I know, but it could potentially mislead new players. Please correct me if I'm misinformed.

Here's the quote from the article: Sleeping in a bed resets your spawn point to the last bed you slept in. Put beds in all bases to easily transfer primary bases. As an added bonus, sleeping in a bed at night causes time to pass quickly, reducing hostile mob spawning and greatly improving productivity. A bedroom often shares purpose with another room.

As far as I was aware, sleeping in a bed didn't pass any time, but simply reset the time of day to dawn. No time has passed, so productivity doesn't really increase at all, does it? Smelting, the crowing of crops, and anything else that requires time isn't sped up by sleeping in a bed. Didn't want to change the phrasing without clearing it up first, as I could be wrong. --86.40.22.149 19:40, 8 April 2012 (UTC)

By increasing productivity, I think they meant it is a lot more efficient to do things during the day than at night. 108.39.195.153 20:42, 28 July 2012 (UTC)

Do not delete! (Please!) D: ):

I understand if some people do not like the content or the way the content is made and placed on the page, but this is a valuable source for me. If I have problems, I can look them up, this is a basic resource! Problems are problems, but we don't need to punish the WHOLE page for a couple mistakes. Besides, certain pictures I can only access from here! I like being able to go to the page, and click on one of the links, and then simply look at the pictures relating to it. Don't delete this page, please! I think that if you were to just change a couple things, (like the fellow below me suggested), then we can keep this resource!

Don't Remove It![edit]

Don't delete it, just tweak it a little and maybe change the name. This page is very useful in creative if you want an awesome house. SwagZillah 00:52, 21 June 2012 (UTC)

I don't see why we can't keep it. Its a pretty useful page, if you think about it. MaryTheTiger 23:02, 21 June 2012 (UTC)

I second. I like this page, I find it to be useful. Perhaps an exception could be made for it?
JISHAXE · TALK · CONTRIBS 10:51, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
The page is kinda informatic, isn't it? Deletion of it might send some users into outrage. I like the idea of an exception. MaryTheTiger 19:51, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
I third this. This page is one I go to when I need inspriation. 98.159.27.28 15:13, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
I agree with all of you - an exception would be almost necessary - this is one of the first pages that come up in google for a search of 'fun things to do in minecraft' or 'things to build in minecraft' and is extremely useful for players who wish to find something to do. Do not delete.

Plz keep it..you can just make a major rewrite of it. I found this page very helpful.Chinchillatiger 19:02, 10 July 2012 (UTC)

I completly agree I'm going to remove the tag --98.240.150.148 01:03, 25 June 2012 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but what exactly is the problem at all? Does it have to do with the above section?75.57.125.216 00:56, 4 July 2012 (UTC)(Unregistered Wiki User) Ardelenia

If people have found all these problems, then why not correct them, rather than simply complaining? I love this page, and think that, beyond all doubt, it should be kept. EAE01 13:36, 6 July 2012 (UTC)

Do not delete! (Please!) D: ):

I really really agree, this page has been very vital to people that lack brilliant imagination like me, and heck, where am I going to find ideas for tuning up my house? --91.153.155.130 20:49, 30 July 2012 (UTC)

Please don't delete this! Even though it isn't really a tutorial it is still helpful!

Hi, I use this wiki topic so often it's unbelievable. I completely agree with the first person in that this topic is such as valuable resource. I agree that it may need changing, but please don't delete it.

--B10[k/-/3ad 03:14, 10 July 2012 (UTC)

So, lots of people want to keep the page. The trouble is, it's not a tutorial. So it breaks the current wiki rules, which is why it was tagged. But given how many people want to keep it, it seems to me this page ought to have a category of its own, not under the Tutorial/ namespace. And there are a couple of other pages to which this also applies. How about creating an Activities/ section for this kind of thing? --82.69.54.207 18:35, 30 July 2012 (UTC)

@above Exactly! Now, let us gather ideas, then go to the Admin Noticeboard, once we have reached a decision, of course, and tell them what we want to do. If they decline, however, we will need their opinion about this page and pin them against themselves, untill they reach a decision. MaryTheTiger 19:12, 30 July 2012 (UTC)

This page definitely contains some valuable content, but it needs to be better organized. The list of purely cosmetic things you can do to your shelter is endless, so they should have their own section at the end, if they are included at all.Sedrick Stevenson 04:18, 21 August 2012 (UTC)

Bold Text[edit]

There's a line that says Bold text At the bottom of the page. Is that on purpose? Creepergoboom64 15:19, 24 August 2012 (UTC)Creepergoboom64

Move to Shelter[edit]

The name of his makes no sense, "List of things to do to your shelter" as the information on the page has nothing to do with the title. Extreme 22:14, 22 December 2012 (UTC)

The Shelter page was deleted because of Rule #3... So I don't know what they're going to do to this page. Copying it to a Document just in case it's deleted :L JonL21 06:20, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

Moved to shelters[edit]

This page should better suit the topic. The previous page was long and didn't make much sense. Extreme 01:04, 1 January 2013 (UTC)

Now that it has moved to Tutorials/Shelters, is it alright for me to post a link to the Youtube video as a reference? I just want to make sure I do it correctly. I apologize for jumping in too quickly here, I'll look at some of the tutorials first. - RuneBloodstone 15:05, 2 May 2013 (UTC)

Changed because it does not make any sense[edit]

If you are the person who made the section "List of touches you can put on a library, read this. 112.200.76.143 05:52, 21 June 2013 (UTC)

I replace the text and name of the section "List of touches you can put on a library". i replaced the name to "Furniture" for the reason of no sense. 112.200.76.143 05:52, 21 June 2013 (UTC)

Redundancy and You[edit]

I've noticed there is a LOT of redundancy on this page. For instance, there are 2 entries for blast walls in the same section. We really need to clean this page up. Bejoe905 (talk) 20:50, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
