Adding Chickens[edit]

But how place chickens to the farm? With egg dropping? -- 00:59, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

You throw the eggs into the farm. There is a 1/8 chance for it to spawn a chicken. Qcdynamics 16:03, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

Misleading Information?[edit]

Unless I'm mistaken, eggs left alone don't hatch themselves, chickens don't need solid ground to lay eggs (otherwise this design wouldn't work), and mobs float, so they can't be flushed down the chute. Qcdynamics 16:03, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

you are right about the eggs.

"mobs float, so they can't be flushed down the chute."

The chickens are not meant to be flushed down, the design keeps them safe from that. this is a good design, thumbs up joghurt! El_Barto_227, The Half-Creeper! 04:45, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

If in SMP with LWC plugin, one can use the Magnet flag in an enclosed space for a zero egg loss system that auto-deposits the eggs in a private OR public chest 03:25, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

Hoppers have now replaced that function nicely. Unless you don't want to spend iron ingots that is... Jioge 16:35, 14 March 2013 (UTC)
