Entering from above?[edit]

Has anyone considered going into a monument from above? That's how I did it and I barely took that much damage on normal difficulty. It used buckets of laval to solidify the water above the monument and then I had to bring a cow to milk over and over again. My only caveat to that would be to still bring the usual potion station but then you can set it up over the monument itself.

Yes, I also enter from above as part of a comprehensive, early-game strategy. I use sand and a bucket to manage the water, though. Then I just have to mine a single block of prismarine. I use a number of other tricks and techniques so that I don't need any enchantments or potions at all, so no need for a potion station, either. Scudobuio (talk) 15:09, 20 April 2015 (UTC)

If you want to tackle one before you can brew potions, I found that strategy of using ladders and sand to "soak up" the water is very effective. Works best if you can lure a cow nearby so you can easily go back for more milk as needed. I usually carry 8-10 buckets of milk, a diamond shovel, a stack of torches and fill the rest of my inventory with sand and ladders. 19:03, 25 November 2015 (UTC)

Conduits (with Activation Frames) in 1.3[edit]

There might be a useful write-up here, for anyone who wants to do it, about that 1.3 (Aquatic Update) addition. For example, the Mining Fatigue might be somewhat-mitigated by the Mining Speed increase.

But of course Breathing (infinitely), as well as Night Vision (UnderWater vision is already being-increased in 1.3); but also its Light source: level 15 Light brightness. And attacking Hostile Mobs within 8 Blocks every 2 sec's. doesn't hurt (the Player). 6 /16 /18 10:34 p.m. Yilante 05:34, 17 June 2018 (UTC)

Ocean monmumnt in update aquatic[edit]

What stuff in this article is still relivant with update aquatic? Quickhakker (talk) 20:58, 17 July 2018 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure almost all of it will still be relevant. The only thing that changed in the Update Aquatic for BE regarding ocean monuments is that they now generate in the new types of oceans. So as far as I know, there won't be any major changes to ocean monuments in the Update Aquatic that will make a lot of the article irrelevant.-- Madminecrafter12Orange Glazed Terracotta.pngTalk to meLight Blue Glazed Terracotta.png 22:46, 17 July 2018 (UTC)
There will actually be more relevant because of the new features (tridents, bubble columns, conduits, etc). However, visibility-related information will need to be rewritten.

Move to Tutorials/Defeating a monument[edit]

As of the Update Aquatic, ocean monuments are just called monuments. We should move the page accordingly. The BlobsPaper JE2 BE2.png 15:01, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
