Can witches be a captain?
They cannot since they don't spawn as part of a patrol and do not spawn as captains in raids 184.108.40.206 21:22, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
Rename to Raid captain
I think the page (and all references to it) should be moved/renamed to "Raid captain", as that's what the upcoming advancement Voluntary Exile calls them. --Robotkoer (talk) 15:33, 12 April 2019 (UTC)

is this okay, but what if the captains were guarded by four pillagers or vindicators. also, if the mob is a evoker, can it be also guarded by a second layer of vexes. and i'm sorry if this makes you unhappy, but i think that vindicators should rarely spawn as captains in raids, but evokers should most commonly spawn.( hard, hardcore LV5 and above raids) the reason why witches are not fit for raids is because they are overpowered. with many potions, this might make the game too hard and cause people to quit playing (permanently). this change [no witches in raids LV5 and under, normal, peaceful( obviously) easy mode,and more} could make minecraft popular again. but there really should be a button called evokers and witches span in raids in the world creation menu ( the decision between yes and no is permanent. 220.127.116.11 00:29, 28 April 2019 (UTC)
While I'm apparently too late, this naming convention (no matter how well it may fit with the in-game text on an advancement) is highly confusing, because raid captains are not part of the raid, but of patrols. Since illagers keep spawning on and around the outpost, as long as conditions are met, that doesn't really make sense to me. I'd expect something like "illagers spawning around outposts have an x % propability to spawn as captains" or similar, if applicable. 18.104.22.168 23:46, 19 October 2019 (UTC)
I was in creative and I still got bad omen
I was playing on my lucky block world I had on my phone with 2 different accounts (Ghost pepper(phone) Bonbonplay10(Laptop)) and I killed a raid captain but I was in creative and I got bad omen. Is this a glitch? 22.214.171.124 17:34, 31 July 2020 (UTC)
Raid instigated outside village
So I capped a patrol that was lurking around outside my house, and as I headed back to my house, the bad omen effect from the patrol captain provoked a raid. There are no villagers around my house (There's a village roughly 3-400 blocks north of my position, so I never had the need to get any localized to my home), nor are any bells hung up anywhere around my house.
During the raid, I noticed that the raiders were clustered around my containment chamber that I use to treat Z-Villagers safely. It consists of a smooth stone roof with iron bars creating a 9x9x3 room, along with a lantern hanging from the roof and a single bed, all of this is cordoned off by an iron door with a lever. Is it possible that they were attempting to target the bed, and that the bed in question is why the raid was initiated? The Nightmare Tank (talk) 17:45, 2 August 2020 (UTC)
