Ocelots[]

People keep removing ocelots. What's unclear? Isn't there an image in the picture? 71.212.10.80 02:35, 11 June 2015 (UTC)

Where has Mojang said ocelots will be in 0.12.0 specifically, rather than in a future version of PE in general? — Orthotopetalk 02:47, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
How else would the picture show up? 71.212.10.80 03:09, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
Developers frequently post pictures of things which are not planned for the next update, it is often because it is a concept that not finished developing, but they are proud of what they have so far. See mentioned features for many examples.
Also, this is the wrong page for the version. If it is to exist later, it must be at the title "Pocket Edition Alpha 0.12.0" as per MCW:STYLE#Article titles KnightMiner t/c 03:24, 11 June 2015 (UTC)

Um....[]

There are sources that clearly state some stuff that could possibly be in 0.12.0, and AFAIK, there was no edit-warring going on at all. Literally, the page protection and redirection to Planned versions was pointless and complete cobblers. BDJP (t|c) 23:40, 21 June 2015 (UTC)

There was a slow edit war, with at least five instances of this page getting created and redirected.
As for the actual page, I also don't see why it has to be redirect to planned versions, as according to the general notability, it only needs several sources of features in the update (which it has). I would agree with reimplementing this as a planned version article, and linking it from planned versions KnightMiner t/c 23:50, 21 June 2015 (UTC)

New stuff for 0.12?[]

So I just read _tomcc's latest tweets and he tweeted initials of some things that are going to be in the update, as tweeted here, which I've tried to decode below:

- N = Nether - O = Ocelots - P = Potions - FP = Flower Pot - H = Hunger - C = Cauldrons - E = Ender pearls - CS = Control Support - A = Anvils - S = Soul Sand

G is a typo so don't ask what that one means.

Anyways, I think it might be necessary to add what I've just listed to the 0.12 page? --MarioProtIV (talk) 13:54, 26 June 2015 (UTC)

It would be speculation; we do not currently know for certain what any of these could be. However, he did comment that 'G' is 'Golem'. --Illidicia (t+c) 14:00, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
Oh, so would it be fine if you put "Golems" in the addition section of 0.12? --MarioProtIV (talk) 14:07, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
Only admins can edit the page. –LauraFi - talk 14:26, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
I have added golems to the page. Please don't add the list above of letters as it would constitute speculation. I have also allowed registered users to edit the page again, although should there be further counter-productive editing it will be locked again. GoandgooTalk

Horses[]

I don't know why people are removing horses. In the video when he was holding, it was actually a horse spawn egg. Keep a close eye when he is holding something. Jg11817 (talk) 21:18, 6 July 2015 (UTC)

It is because at approximately 9min and 9 seconds He taps it and it says cave spider spawn egg. The camera he was recording with didn't differentiate color quite correctly. -AMAN4700

0.12 features in articles[]

Although there haven't been any development versions of 0.12, we've seen numerous physical working demonstrations of people playing on 0.12 through the windows 10 surface tablets at Minecon. While this hasn't been fully released to the public, are we able to add these 0.12 features to articles marked as upcoming? I think the physical nature of the demos, being more than just features in development and only known to the developers, means that it's unlikely that these features will be removed from 0.12 in the future. While demos may exist, I am inclined to wait until a public release is available, until then anything shown is basically the same as when a developer shows a video or animated GIF of the new feature working. While it may be highly likely that it is coming then, it still could be removed at a later time, and users on the wiki still would have no way of using those features. KnightMiner t/c 03:26, 7 July 2015 (UTC)
I understand where you are coming from, but in the case of Pocket Edition they are simply porting features that already exist from the PC version, unlike the PC version where they are often experimenting with new features, and anything can change at any time (especially when a developer changes their mind). I completely agree that none of the 1.9 features should go onto any of the pages, but for the PE 0.12 the developers are not going to take anything out of that already existing demo. GoandgooTalk

Not necessarily. Many of the features are experimental/in development, and it may not possible to optimize them for Pocket Edition in the timeframe of 0.12.0. This has occured several times with the development of previous versions (observed with features only showcased by public screenshots, gifs, ect., much less the version used by the developers - a concern expressed above by KnightMiner). –Illidicia (t+c) 21:36, 7 July 2015 (UTC)

0.12.0 Informations[]

Isn't it none of these imformations are confirmed? --118.40.119.74 01:19, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

They are, actually. If you watch the videos in the references, you'll see v0.12.0 alpha in the bottom right. BDJP (t|c) 02:08, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

New version exclusive feature for 0.12[]

So about 45 minutes ago Tommasso tweeted this which shows that the book on the enchantment tables now glow in the dark (this was previously a bug he found but decided to add it as a feature). Can you add this to the article? --MarioProtIV (talk) 12:44, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

Minor rewording[]

The 'snow golem' addition in the mobs section can be simplified (currently states redundant information on building):

Regarding new controls[]

This explains it pretty much :) --MarioProtIV (talk) 12:55, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

Controls[]

Could someone change it from this:

Controls

  • Sprinting and sneaking
    • Sneaking button where the jump button used to be and moved the jump button to the left.

To this:

Controls

  • Sprinting and sneaking
    • Sneaking button where the jump button used to be and moved the jump button to the left.
    • Option to reverse the location of the Sneak and Jump button[1]

Wolffillms (talk) 13:41, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

In this case, it would be unecessary to add the first line (Sneaking button where the jump button used to be and moved the jump button to the left.). - Illidicia (t+c) 15:16, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
Oppose Doing that would remove necessary information. The BlobsPaper 15:39, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
We would still need need " (Sneaking button where the jump button used to be and moved the jump button to the left.)" as those are the new default controls. Wolffillms (talk) 17:33, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
We would still need to change it though. PancakeIdentity (talk) 21:11, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
Why? The BlobsPaper 17:48, 25 July 2015 (UTC)
because there is now an option to switch the location of the Sneak and Jump button.Wolffillms (talk) 18:56, 25 July 2015 (UTC)

Graphics[]

Could someone change it from:

Graphics

  • Tinted water - gradient from aqua to dark blue when viewed from a distance
    • Relocated pause and chat button
  • Version exclusive: Leaves in snowy taigas now appear frost-covered

To:

Perhaps this may be more descriptive? Also, it should be added in the Options section.

Illidicia (t+c) 15:16, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
I suppose it could be more descriptive, but it shouldn't be under the options section as it isn't an option, and if they change the slider for one thing they will probably have it for everything else.
more descriptive version: * New slider bar (replaced white bar with one looking more like the rest of the GUI.[4]

Protection[]

As there are now multiple good requests for updates to the page with lots of discussion, I believe it is okay to change the protection back to registered users. Wolffillms (talk) 18:59, 25 July 2015 (UTC)

Can everyone involved at least try to avoid edit warring over the page content? It's been happening way too much on this particular article. -- Orthotopetalk 19:46, 25 July 2015 (UTC)
Sure Wolffillms (talk) 19:51, 25 July 2015 (UTC)
Ok --MarioProtIV (talk) 20:39, 26 July 2015 (UTC)
Try discussing this page if there appears to be warring. It might be recommended to watch this page until the update. The BlobsPaper 21:54, 28 July 2015 (UTC)
And protection change should not affect this discussion. If you are intent on asserting your edit, it seems resonable to resolve any dispute on the talk page rather than the main. --Illidicia (t+c) 02:53, 27 July 2015 (UTC)
um... all where saying is the protection should be changed so we can do needed improvements to the page. Wolffillms (talk) 13:59, 27 July 2015 (UTC)
The admin protection will expire automatically in a few hours (at 17:24 to be exact), so I think it's worth the wait until it expires (You'll have to re-protect it from IP spammers though. --MarioProtIV (talk) 14:13, 27 July 2015 (UTC)

Protection (again)[]

As the Windows 10 edition will be realeased tomorrow (https://twitter.com/kappische/status/625948828043202561) and will have most of the features of Alpha 0.12.0, I think tomorrow the protection should be changed as people will have access to the update. Wolffillms (talk) 12:51, 28 July 2015 (UTC)

The protection will not be getting changed again before it expires.
As a more general note, due to the recent edit history on the article, the following restrictions are in effect until further notice:
  • Reverting is restricted to a single revert of a given edit per editor, with the exception of reverting obvious vandalism or spam.
  • Any editor that violates the above, or that appears to be baiting another editor into violating the above, will be blocked with the length of the block left to the blocking admin's discretion, but for no less than an hour, and with subsequent blocks escalating in length up to and including forever.
  • Any new editor who edits this article with an apparent level of knowledge of the dispute(s) that is inappropriate for a truly new, good-faith editor, may be immediately indefinitely blocked.
  • If, in spite of the above restrictions, it again becomes necessary to full-protect this article, it will be full-protected until Pocket Edition Alpha 0.12.0 is released, or other circumstances render the protection unnecessary.
  • All of the above should be broadly interpreted by any admin taking action on them, with a specific mind toward anyone who appears to be gaming these restrictions: an editor who violates the spirit of these restrictions while technically keeping to the letter is still violating the restrictions and will still be blocked, the same goes for any group of editors that appears to be working together to violate the spirit without any individual editor being in violation.
This is the only warning any involved editors will receive. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 03:47, 29 July 2015 (UTC)
In light of this discussion on the admin noticeboard (and in particular the facts presented in BDJP's comment), the above restrictions are extended to all edits performed by MarioProtIV, Tyevskyo, and Wolffillms, to any page on the wiki. The point about broadly interpreting the restrictions applies to this extension as well. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 05:10, 29 July 2015 (UTC)

Rabbits in 0.12[]

If rabbits foot is being added, then Rabbits may be added as well, so I don't see why it was a "conjecture" edit --MarioProtIV (talk) 16:58, 28 July 2015 (UTC)

I agree that it means that Rabbits will probably be added, however I suppose on the other side it is still speculation. Wolffillms (talk) 17:05, 28 July 2015 (UTC)
All brewing ingredients as of 1.8 are present in the creative inventory. Assuming that rabbit's feet or any other ingredients point to the presence of additions/changes for general availablity is conjecture. --Illidicia (t+c) 17:11, 28 July 2015 (UTC)
I agree with Illidicia. Unless a developer says rabbits are coming in the next update, we cannot assume (or a better term here is speculate) that rabbits are being added just because its foot is there. To put this in perspective, the Pocket Edition has magma cubes and netherrack, but no Nether at this point (and how can you have netherrack without the Nether? unless the developers add it in a different way...) Minecraft Pocket Edition 0.12.0...beta?[]

I heard that some of the developers started saying "beta" instead of "alpha" when talking about Minecraft Pocket Edition. Could 0.12.0 be the first version to be in Pocket Edition Beta? MinecraftImageEditior (talk) 11:00, 29 July 2015 (UTC)

They are referring to the update's beta testing cycle, a period during which the developers a primarily focused on bug fixes reported by the community. -Illidicia (t+c) 11:06, 29 July 2015 (UTC)

Move to Pocket Edition Alpha 0.12.1[]

According to a recent move log, this version will be 0.12.1 rather than 0.12.0. The BlobsPaper 22:13, 29 July 2015 (UTC)

I will assume that 0.12.0 was the earlier, Windows 10 compatible release. -Illidicia (t+c) 22:16, 29 July 2015 (UTC)
I don't see the move necessary as 0.12.0 is Alpha 0.12.0 on PE (since Windows 10 = PE). Tommasso likely made a typo or he likes to call builds 0.12.0.x, where "x" is the build number (in the 0.11 stage, he named build 11 0.11.0.11. --MarioProtIV (talk) 22:47, 29 July 2015 (UTC)
However, features are often added in the builds, so it makes sense to seperate the Windows 10 (earlier release) with the Pocket Edition beta and release all with 0.12.1. This seems like speculation-- but 0.12.0 is the version ID listed with all Win10 Edition copies, while 0.12.0 is present with all Pocket Edition mentions. -Illidicia (t+c) 01:03, 30 July 2015 (UTC)

Armor in creative inventory[]

According to this video of the review of 0.12 build 1 (at the 4m mark), there is now armor in the creative inventory. Can you add to main page? --MarioProtIV (talk) 23:40, 29 July 2015 (UTC)

Also according to the video more difficulties have been added. --MarioProtIV (talk) 00:17, 30 July 2015 (UTC)

Move to Pocket Edition Alpha 0.12.1[]

Can an admin such as @Dinoguy1000 move this to Pocket Edition Alpha 0.12.1?

And add this to the top of the page (noted in italics):

Alpha 0.12.1 is the first version released for the Windows 10 Edition Beta, and an upcoming update to Minecraft Pocket Edition. It is currently only available on the universal Windows 10 platform, tagged as 0.12.0. On all other editions, the version will be released soon, hopefully in August. The release was initially intended to coincide with the release of the Windows 10 version on July 29, 2015 but encountered obstacles in its development, forcing it to be delayed.

Thanks. --MarioProtIV (talk) 00:33, 30 July 2015 (UTC)

No. On Windows 10, the version number displayed for this update is 0.12.0, as noted by Illidicia above. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 01:32, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
Ok. But to avoid confusion between the two platforms (even though they're PE basically), we should just move this to "Windows 10 Edition 0.12.0". --MarioProtIV (talk) 01:42, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
Because the game, bug tracker, and the devs have been referring 0.12 as 0.12.1, I think it is best if this page is moved to Windows 10 Edition 0.12.0 as to avoid mixup between the two versions. --MarioProtIV (talk) 22:27, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
However, the Windows 10 Edition is Pocket Edition, and if in future the versions are developed together then this version will be an odd one out having the Windows 10 Edition in the title. I think the best solution is just to make it clear that this version was only released for Windows 10. GoandgooTalk
