Naming[]

Thought I'd add that internally they are called "waterlily" (ie Water Lily) --Wizjany 17:16, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

Huh. I'm pretty sure Magma Cubes are called "lslime" (lava slime) in the code, so it seems to me that we should call them by the internal names, the only official names we have. Verhalthur (talk)(contribs) 17:19, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

Complaints about Lily Pads[]

Who wishes they could walk on lily pads? THAT WOULD BE EPIC AND MAKE A MEANS of water swamp transportation avalible! –The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.62.253.153 (Talk|Contribs) 05:20, 24 September 2011. Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Why they can be only placed on swamp water? I'll want to use them in my town's park. --Osku 18:35, 25 September 2011 (UTC)

Also, In the new full release, it seems that they don't spread. Why won't they spread!?

they don't spread becuase i hate them with all of my wood.--66.190.243.103 09:56, 2 August 2012 (UTC)

mid-ocean[]

referring to a bit of the trivia section:

  • When placing a lily pad under another lily pad beneath the water, it destroys both lily pads and the water source blocks adjacent to the one the lily pad was placed on flow towards it; a lily pad can no longer be placed on this block, but can be placed on the adjacent water blocks flowing towards it.

This is because the water block at the center never resolves itself into a source block; there's no block beneath the new "flowing" water.

Question: How can you place a lilli pad under another? Does it actually work? For me it does not. (Bulldozer2026 09:20, 9 March 2012 (UTC))

Mob behavior on Lily pads[]

It seems like some of the mobs(tested on Sheep, Cow, Pig, and Villagers) cannot move by them self when they are on Lily pads. Even if you punch them, they just jump and stay at same position.

Moving Lilipads![]

I saw that lilipads can be placed only on source blocks or moving source blocks of water, but not on lower levels of flowing water. So I thinked, that there can be added a fetaure where can lilipads move to the next block when they are on moving block of water and can be placed on lower level ov water.

Can't step onto lily pad automatically?[]

I just put a lily pad over the one open water in my farm, and it blocks me walking through it like a normal block. I can jump onto it of course, but that risks trashing some of the surrounding farmland. Did the way they work get changed? (later edit) Ok, seems to be from farmland to lily pad. I can go from stone to lilypads on water on my sugarcane farm. --StarChaser Tyger 07:53, 6 August 2013 (UTC)

Floating Gravel, made with Lilly Pads[]

Mention this in the article?

Renewable[]

They aren't.

I would change the page myself, but I'm new here and can't figure out how. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 147.124.202.148 (talk) 22:36, 6 December 2013(UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Fixed it. And sign after you name by putting four of these in a row: ~ --Saanoth (talk) 22:41, 6 December 2013 (UTC)
Actually, they are renewable, as they can be obtained by fishing; see Renewable resource#Renewable resources from fishing. -- Orthotopetalk 23:24, 6 December 2013 (UTC)
Ah yes. My bad, sorry. --Saanoth (talk) 23:42, 6 December 2013 (UTC)

Boats are damaged by them[]

Hitting one won't kill your boat, but hit 3 in a row and it's toast. Someone else can make this sound more wiki'ish.

Java 1.16.5 boats can tank unlimited lily pads

Wiki has FALSE information[]

The "Lily" does NOT redirect to Lily Pad despite the fact the wiki says that ""Lily" redirects here". Please fix this bug (Make page "Lily" and have it redirect.) Iuyfgdejkourfychnm (talk) 01:55, 16 May 2022 (UTC)

Done. It isn't a bug, just a missing page. The other solution would have been to remove the hatnote altogether. Amatulic (talk) 05:23, 16 May 2022 (UTC)

Nice Iuyfgdejkourfychnm (talk) 00:42, 22 May 2022 (UTC)

Pad[]

A redirect could be "Pad". It should redirect here to "Lily Pad". Iuyfgdejkourfychnm (talk) 04:50, 22 May 2022 (UTC)

People are more likely to search for "lily" or "lily pad". We generally don't maintain redirects for search terms that are unlikely. Amatulic (talk) 15:51, 22 May 2022 (UTC)

Ok Iuyfgdejkourfychnm (talk) 00:44, 23 May 2022 (UTC)

BE beta 1.10.0.3 lilypad item appearance is indeed not accurate[]

The current image reference implies that it uses the tinted greyscale block texture like java, but it actually uses textures/blocks/carried_waterlily.png with no tint. Perhaps this is info that could be added to the part that talks about the lilypad colour too?--Axialeaa (talk) 22:42, 6 June 2023 (UTC)
