Talk:Java Edition 1.7.10
Q: Are Chicken rare spawn in Zombie Generators; is it a new feature or bug? I have a simple Exp Farm; it is an underground sealed 9x9x9 room w/ zombie spawner in the middle, I have water pushing the mobs into a corner where they drop into a pit 2 deep (with a 1/s slab over my head to stop baby zombies). I can stand in my spot and safely kill them, it takes lots and lots of stone swords and time, but it works. (there're few working parts and there isn't a water elevator to worry about breaking). I spend many hours in that area and every 3-6 hours I get a chicken spawning in that room. This makes me think "What the Whaa? how'd that f'n duck get in here? It's a sealed room, there's only a 1/2 slab hole, and that's 2 blocks off the ground... There's no way it could have gotten in here unless..."
Is anyone else getting this happening to them?
- if this would be better served somewhere else let me know, I'll move it. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by Buzzaro (talk • contribs) at 00:31, 26 July 2014 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
- that's a chicken jockey, it's a baby zombie that rides a chicken, check out the wiki page on it. Not a bug. They introduced that in I think 1.7.4 or 5. – Sealbudsman (Aaron) (talk) – 05:48, 26 July 2014 (UTC)
- It seemed notable at the time; there was never a 1.x.10 revision before, in the release versions. There were a lot of server related issues in the earlier 1.7 releases, causing a lot of rapid versioning (the reasons for which I think aren't fully explained here on the wiki but that's a story for another day), which meant, at the time, everybody was updating constantly, so it became almost this countdown thing everyone was aware of. It wasn't like some obscure numerological event that passed in the night. – Sealbudsman (Aaron) T/C 14:48, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
