Next version - 1.12 Mid-Release[edit]

So Nixinova ‎and Beans1512 have been going back and forth on the next version. One system leaves the field empty (which points to 1.13) the other has 1.12 Mid-release. I don't want to have a bunch of edits back and forth, but being that the article currently points to 1.13 I feel I should voice my dissention. Pointing to 1.13 implies there were no changes between. In other words, if someone were clicking through each version looking at changes, they would miss the changes which took effect in 1.12 Mid-release. When removing the link, Nixinova gave the reason that [[1.12 Mid-release]] is just a redirect page, but if this is really an issue is it possible to put "1.12#Mid-release_changes" in the "next" field? Being that mid-releases are a new thing, it might be worth setting a standard. Cultist O (talk) 07:43, 11 June 2017 (UTC)

Well, there really was no change in between 1.12-pre7 and 1.12. People browsing the wiki would get confused, as it is not an actual snapshot. There is no need for it to be in the navbox, as it just redirects to 1.12, which has a section about it. – NixinovaGrid Book and Quill.png Grid Diamond Pickaxe.png Grid Map.png • 07:46, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
I think that it will not be a problem if redirected to the section. (It is different if it is so decided as a rule.)--Beans1512 (talk) 07:50, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
But there were a few minor changes between them. I'm not comfortable deciding this sort of thing based on our subjective assessment of what constitutes significant changes. Cultist O (talk) 13:27, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
There's no reason we can't have the next version set to 1.12, we just generally don't since it duplicates the parent version field. MajrTalk
