Invisibility[edit]

When creating illusions, does the invisibility effect of the illusioner always last 50 seconds? I don't have any way to know for sure. Firebastard (talk) 02:35, 21 April 2017 (UTC)

Should be sixty! – Sealbudsman talk/contr 20:33, 22 April 2017 (UTC)

Experience point[edit]

Please verify that the experience value available from illusioner is really 5.--Beans1512Talk/Contribs 05:03, 23 April 2017 (UTC)

It's really five, I just checked the code. – Sealbudsman talk/contr 12:21, 23 April 2017 (UTC)
Thanks!--Beans1512Talk/Contribs 12:22, 23 April 2017 (UTC)

I need an explanation for…[edit]

Just WHY are they unused? Devintrainer (talk) 12:14, 22 May 2017 (UTC)

Because he can only spawn with command. There are other giants as well.--Beans1512Talk/Contribs 12:17, 22 May 2017 (UTC)
Perhaps Mojang hasn't figured out a use for them yet, and they want to release the update as soon as possible. -Sonicwave (talk|c) 17:43, 22 May 2017 (UTC)

Same thing?[edit]

The blindness spell would only be cast if the regional difficulty was 3 or above.
The blindness spell will now only be cast if the regional difficulty is greater than 2.

'Greater than 2' is the same as '3 or above' - what is the difference here? They both have {3,4,5,...,∞} – NixinovaGrid Book and Quill.png Grid Diamond Pickaxe.png Grid Map.png • 20:19, 26 May 2017 (UTC)

The reason is because regional difficulty is a float, not an integer. – Sealbudsman talk/contr 20:32, 26 May 2017 (UTC)

Illager[edit]

I don't see the point in spamming notes to prevent users from changing a name. One note alright, but not several all behind each other. I doubt a lot of people still feel the need to change the name anyway. --Pepijn (talk) 19:21, 9 June 2017 (UTC)

-er comes from 'Villager'[edit]

Pepijn, you reverted my edit of this article, because you don't know that was official info. Look up 'Illusioner' here - it clearly says 'Illusioner = Illusion + Illager (or Villager)'. (Previously it said 'Illusioner = Illusionist + Villager'). –Preceding unsigned comment was added by MCWaterfall (talkcontribs) at 15:33, 9 June 2017 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

So "Farm-er" is also "farm + villager"? Like c'mon, adding "er" to a noun/verb to describe someone who works in the area of that noun/verb is common practice. --Pepijn (talk) 20:30, 9 June 2017 (UTC)
I mean no, but it's just info from devs, not my fable. Even its entity id is illusion_illager. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by MCWaterfall (talkcontribs) at 20:09, 10 June 2017 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
I don't know if those comments come from the actual devs. And if they do, I think it's ridiculous even for a trivia point. I'm not going to undo it if you add it again (trivia is not an important enough section to have an edit war over), but others might. --Pepijn (talk) 15:32, 10 June 2017 (UTC)
What? Adding -er to a word does not come from other words. It is common practice. – Nixinova Grid Book and Quill.png Grid Diamond Pickaxe.png Grid Map.png 04:50, 29 August 2017 (UTC)

Illusioner clone IDs[edit]

Can the illusioner clones be summoned using /summon? Do the clones have an entity ID? Kingdoy (talk)Kingdoy

Nope. They don't have an entity ID, by either meaning of the term (entity type IDs or packet entity IDs), and are entirely clientside. It's simply stored as an array of locations to render copies of the illager at - they aren't even real entities that exist in the world. (This is how I'm seeing it from the code, but I might be misreading it) --Pokechu22 (talk) 00:58, 29 August 2017 (UTC)
They're indeed just visual "extensions" of the original illager, to give a very simplified explanation. --Pepijn (talk) 01:15, 29 August 2017 (UTC)

Page Protection[edit]

you should probably do away with the protected page message or get rid of it 75.28.142.235 75.28.142.235

Illusioner experience: 5 or 10?[edit]

Ive checked in gameplay, the illusioner drops 10 –Preceding unsigned comment was added by Vincenzomedio2468 (talkcontribs) at 17:42, 04 July 2019 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

It has already been confirmed quite some time ago that the illusioner drops five experience. I'm going to wait for someone to check the code of the game to be sure. -BDJP (t|c) 18:00, 4 July 2019 (UTC)
Sealbudsman, can you check the code to be sure the experience drop for the Illusioner hasn’t changed? -BDJP (t|c) 16:34, 8 July 2019 (UTC)
I used jd-gui to check Java Edition client 1.14.4, and it looks like there is an instance variable aiv.f which refers to experience drops, and, in the Illusioner class (aul) it is set to 5. But also, in the Ravager class (aut) it is set to 20, whereas on the wiki it says 10. All others match what we have on the Experience#Experience_amounts_by_source page. Would you be able to playtest those two mobs, BDJP? – Sealbudsman talk | contribs 19:42, 8 July 2019 (UTC)
I'll go ahead and play-test. brb. -BDJP (t|c) 19:47, 8 July 2019 (UTC)
Done with playtesting. The ravager did indeed drop 20 experience, while the illusioner varies between 5 and 7. -BDJP (t|c) 20:22, 8 July 2019 (UTC)
I'm guessing that's 5 plus the 1–3 per-equipment exp, because they carry a bow? If the page said "5", as it does on the Skeleton page and others, that is probably consistent. Though I wonder if mob pages would benefit if they all included equipment exp drops, for instance "5 + 1–3 (per equipment)", instead of just "5", like it does on the Experience#Experience_amounts_by_source page. – Sealbudsman talk | contribs 20:59, 8 July 2019 (UTC)
Yeah, I'm sure the mob pages would benefit with the additional information. -BDJP (t|c) 22:00, 8 July 2019 (UTC)
