What is meant by "distance"?[edit source]

It says in this article that when a dispenser contains armor, it will equip it on a player or armor stand within a one-block distance. What exactly is meant by "distance"? Is it a radius, or is it a distance from the front of the dispenser (in the direction the dispenser is facing)? VeenM64 (talk) 18:58, 31 March 2015 (UTC)

It tests for "in the block in front of the dispenser", in other words it looks for entities whose bounding box intersects that block. If multiple eligible entities are found, it picks the "first" one in the list of entities it got from the check. Anomie x (talk) 21:45, 31 March 2015 (UTC)

image facing[edit source]

Just was wondering why the dispenser in the big image is facing in a different direction then the small gui one. Same for the dropper. Is this intended? --Schortan (talk) 19:47, 24 August 2015 (UTC)

Good question! It appears that a large collection of pages for blocks use a block model with the front facing the viewer's left while the player inventory block really faces left. This same pattern is not used for all blocks as some pages have the block model facing the viewer's right, just like the player inventory block. This seems to be a style issue where there is no specific format. Someone probably could create a project of this if they desired, but there are bigger issues people may want to tackle first.
