Coal over lava[edit]

Do we need the pic of coal over lava at the beach? Coal can appear anywhere in stone, it's not a big deal. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by Cby (Talk|Contribs) 08:38, 11 August 2011. Please sign your posts with ~~~~

It could be in a gallery, but otherwise it's useless. I think that it should be kept. Please, sign your messages. TK.gif | TheKax | Talk 14:26, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

NVM I'm dumb. Been playing with texture packs for too long, forgot how the original one looked =\ --DarkFlame588 20:27, 12 October 2011 (UTC)

You can mine coal with tnt. I'll add it. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by (Talk) 19:11, 10 February 2012. Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Size of Vein[edit]

Does anyone actually know the limit to how big the vein can be? I actually found a vein with 64 coal. A full stack! It might've been two right next to each other, but I'm not sure. Someone should try to find out. 13:25, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

Does any one know what the average amount of coal is per chunk? I need to know for my quarry (big hole) –Preceding unsigned comment was added by (Talk) 10:19, 20 June 2012‎. Please sign your posts with ~~~~

In 1.2.5, 136 coal ore on average. -- Orthotope 10:41, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

Coal doesn't need to be smelted. Why is that Smelting picture there? I am going to go ahead and remove it. Feel free to re-add it if it is supposed to be there. If you do, please post why.

Correct, coal doesn't need to be smelted, but it can be, therefore it is documented. --Kanegasi C 20:53, 30 October 2012 (UTC)
I remember now, with the Feather Pick Axe Enchantment. However, it should be noted in the smelting section, like in the Lapis Lazuli Ore. Metroid95 16:15, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
