This page describes content that exists only in outdated versions of Minecraft.
This feature used to be in Java Edition, but has since been removed.
Information icon.svg
This feature is exclusive to Legacy Console Edition.
Shrubs placed in an intersection between a taiga, a roofed forest and a desert.

Shrubs are variants of grass that do not generate naturally and are currently only obtainable in Legacy Console Edition via the creative inventory. They have the same characteristics as grass and ferns, but use a texture similar to dead bushes. Like grass blocks, their color changes depending on the biome they are placed in.

Shrubs in Java Edition did not change color depending on the biome.

Green shrubs were an additional and independent variant of shrubs in Java Edition whose color changed depending on the biome, similar to the shrub in Legacy Console Edition. They were eventually changed to look the same as normal shrubs. Later, both were removed from Java Edition completely.

Obtaining[edit]

When broken normally, shrubs have a 18 chance of dropping wheat seeds.

  1. REDIRECT Template:ExplainThey can be obtained as an item using shears.

Appearance[edit]

This section is missing information about biome-dependent colors.
Please expand the section to include this information. Further details may exist on the talk page.

The shrub uses an identical texture to the dead bush.

The only visual difference between the shrub and the dead bush is that the shrub appears shorter, or sunk into the ground by 1 pixel. In Legacy Console Edition, shrubs also changed color depending on biome, unlike dead bushes.
