Type

Positive

Saturation is an instant status effect that reduces the need for eating. It also can make the player not die from hunger if they do not have any food.

Effect

The Saturation effect instantly replenishes 1 (🍗) × level and 2 × level points of saturation. If the effect is forced to last longer than one tick, it increases hunger and saturation each tick. Negative levels decrease hunger and saturation.

Causes

Cause Potency Length Notes
Suspicious Stew I 0.30 seconds (6 ticks) ‌[Bedrock Edition only]

0.35 seconds (7 ticks) ‌[Java Edition only]

Must be crafted with Blue Orchid or Dandelion

Notes

All foods replenish food saturation, but none actually add the Saturation status effect. With one exception: suspicious stew. Made with a dandelion or blue orchid, it gives both saturation and the status effect.
