Jump to: navigation, search

The menu screen comprises all of the buttons and text for both the main menu and the pause menu. It is the interface that allows players to change options such as the game's language and active resource pack, as well as create a new world or join a multiplayer server. When the main menu opens, the game's logo appears with a splash caption beneath it. The game's menu can be accessed anytime by pausing the game with the Esc key by default.

Minceraft[edit]

This feature is exclusive to Java Edition.

There is a 1 in 10000 chance for the title screen to display "Minceraft" instead of "Minecraft". Notch implemented this as an Easter egg, and kept it as a small secret, enjoying that he was the only one who knew of its existence. After stating a secret was in Minecraft undiscovered, the internet sought out to find it. Soon after, Notch posted "A Post-Mortem of Minceraft" on Reddit.

In crash logs, a reference to Minceraft may appear as a joke, stating "You should try our sister game, Minceraft!".

Trivia[edit]

The menu panorama in-game (coordinates: X≈61.48, Y=75, Z≈-68.73).
The unreleased menu screen panorama that came before the final version.
  • The seed for the menu screen panorama in the game from Beta 1.8 Pre-release until 1.13-pre1 is either 2151901553968352745 or 8091867987493326313 (both are considered valid seeds), and work in versions from Beta 1.7.3 all the way back to Alpha v1.2.0 (except for population differences).[1]
    • The actual version that was used to generate this panorama must have been a development version between Beta 1.6.6 and Beta 1.7, based on the file dates.
    • Dinnerbone noted that the panorama was taken by Notch (likely on his laptop) while he was traveling, around June 1–15, 2011.[2][3]
    • Dinnerbone also noted that the panorama was originally going to be a in-game render of a live world, with custom world generation with the seed 100. He also mentioned another panorama which came before the one seen in Beta 1.8, that was a plains near the beach.[4]
    • Other panoramas from Java Edition 1.13 or later and Bedrock Edition 1.2.0 or later still have pictures of panoramas, but their seed is unknown.
