Multishot is an enchantment applied to a crossbow.

A crossbow with Multishot will shoot 3 arrows on each shot, sending them in different directions (10° apart), but consume only 1 arrow per shot. The two side arrows cannot be collected after shooting. No more than one arrow can hit the same mob from arrows fired in the same shot. Once the mob has been hit, all other arrows from the same shot will be deflected.

If a tipped arrow is fired using Multishot, all three arrows fired will inflict the given status effect. Firework rockets fired with a Multishot crossbow will be duplicated like other projectiles.

Crossbows with the Multishot enchantment will use three durability points each shot instead of the usual one point.

Multishot and Piercing are mutually exclusive. However, if combined using commands, both enchantments function as normal.

  • In 3D Shareware v1.34 (the 2019 April Fools update), higher levels of Multishot (only obtainable through the burning barrels in that version or commands) will shoot more arrows. This is the only version to do this; on other versions, crossbows will shoot 3 arrows regardless of the level of Multishot.
