Derived Materials

The following are materials directly derived from natural resources like Ores and Wood.
TODO: add Macerator and Extractor GUI templates

Bronze Dust

Bronze Dust is made of 3 parts Copper Dust and 1 part Tin Dust. It is the only way to make Bronze Ingots, which is used to make Tools and Armor.

  • Crafting:

Materials:Copper Dust, 1× Tin Dust
Produces: 2× Bronze Dust Template:Grid2/Crafting Table

  • Recipes:
Bronze Dust can be smelted into Bronze Ingots.

Coal Dust

Coal Dust is an essential element in the making of IndustrialCraft Fuel, Industrial Diamonds, and the Nano Suit among other things.

  • Crafting:
Coal Dust is made from putting Coal into a Macerator. As opposed to other Macerator operations, this yeilds only 1 Coal Dust per piece of Coal.
  • Recipes:
Coal Dust is used to craft Hydrated Coal Dust, Coal Balls, Carbon Fibers, and the Solar Collector.

Copper Dust

Copper Dust is useful for making Bronze Dust, and smelting into Copper, which is useful for many recipes.

  • Crafting:
Copper Dust is made from putting Copper Ore into a Macerator. This produces 2 Copper Dust per Copper Ore block, effectively doubling your gain from mining.
  • Recipes:
Copper Dust can be smelted into Copper or it can be used to craft Bronze Dust.

Gold Dust

Gold Dust is useful for making an ODE Device, which is useful for scouting out resources.

  • Crafting:
Gold Dust is made from putting Gold Ore into a Macerator. This produces 2 Gold Dust per Gold Ore block, effectively doubling your gain from mining.
  • Recipes:
Gold Dust can be smelted into a Gold Ingot or it can be used to craft an ODE Device.

Iron Dust

Iron Dust is important for making Iron Ingots and Refined Iron which are very important for a lot of crafting recipes.

  • Crafting:
Iron Dust is made from putting Iron Ore into a Macerator. This produces 2 Iron Dust per Iron Ore block, effectively doubling your gain from mining.
  • Recipes:
Iron Dust can be smelted into Iron Ingots in any Furnace.
  • Notes:
It is rumored in some circles that Iron Dust can be created artificially using a combination of 2 other Dusts, in a very inefficient 2-step process, but the alchemy has been lost over time, as more advanced mining methods have evolved...

Rubber

Rubber is used to make Cables, an important ingredient in many recipes.

  • Crafting:
Rubber can be crafted using Wood and a Tree Tap (4.25-to-1 Wood-to-Rubber ratio) or by putting wood in an Extractor (1-to-1 ratio).

Materials:Wood; 1× Treetap
Produces: 1× Rubber Template:Grid2/Crafting Table

  • Recipes:
Rubber is used to make Cable.

Tin Dust

Tin Dust is useful for making Bronze Dust, and smelting into Tin, which is useful in many recipes.

  • Crafting:
Tin Dust is made from putting Tin Ore into a Macerator. This produces 2 Copper Dust per Tin Ore block, effectively doubling your gain from mining.
  • Recipes:
Tin Dust can be smelted into Tin or it can be used to craft Bronze Dust.

New Recipes

The following are new recipes in IndustrialCraft for making normal Minecraft items.

Glowstone Dust

This recipe was unveiled by version 6.06 and allows users to legitimately gain Glowstone Dust for use in IndustrialCraft recipes in SMP mode where The Nether is still unavailable.

  • Crafting:

Materials:Redstone Dust, 4× Gold Dust
Produces:Glowstone Dust Template:Grid2/Crafting Table

  • Notes:
-See Glowstone Dust page for item details.
