In order to keep Minepedia free of spam and unnecessary items, there are a few rules you must follow when editing and creating pages:

1. Anything that is against the Minecraft TOS is not allowed on the wiki, no matter what.
2. Spam/vandalism is an absolute no-no.
3. Pages about very simple things, e.g. "House", "Deleting" and others, are not allowed. These topics are very unnecessary as they are plain tasks anybody with a tiny bit of intelligence can do.
A. This includes pages about so-called "games" that are played in Minecraft. The only exception to this rule is Spleef as this is widely played and recognized by the community and Notch himself.
4. When creating a page, include as much text as possible and, preferably, an image. Pages that don't meet these requirements can be easily removed without a warning due to lack of content!
5. Personal insults are NOT allowed.
6. Mainspace Pages about users are only allowed if the user in question has a certain role in the community.
A. This does NOT include pages with the "User:" prefix.
7. Stick to the facts - Don't create parody/comedic/nonsense/hoax pages or pages that could mislead players.
A. This includes content based on mere speculations!
8. Pages that explain strategies/designs or provide guides should be placed as a Tutorial subarticle. (for example, Tutorials/Stockroom design)
A. You are free to link to a strategy/design in other articles as long as they are related to the article's topic.
B. This includes any navigational features of blocks, items or textures.
9. Pages about custom server modifications/topics should be linked to their main article. For example, a mod called "Lots'o'booty" for the server "Yarrcraft" would go into Yarrcraft/Lots'o'Booty.
10. Pages about servers are not allowed.
11. Pages about fan communities are not allowed due to advertising issues and stuff like that.
12. Please add a summary to all of your edits - this will make the wiki more organized.
13. Do not directly copy over articles from other wikis that discuss Minecraft.
14. Articles regarding custom servers are only allowed when the server is either:
A. Released to the public
B. Active on a permanent server
15. Articles containing information about client mods are only allowed when the client mod cannot contribute to cheating or griefing in multiplayer.
A. Please add these articles as "sub-articles" to the Mods article.
16. Linking to online videos is only allowed if its the only way to show a certain event (like the void) or if they are official videos.
A. This means, if you can easily explain something with words, do not post a link to an online video.
B. Blatant self-promotion is not allowed!
C. Videos explaining techniques, constructions, etc. "how to" are only allowed on tutorial pages!
17. We are not a file-hosting service. If an image is uploaded and not integrated into a useful article soon after, we reserve the right to delete it without notice. Using our hosting for GUI screenshots, userspace images and general wiki-related images is allowed.
A. Player skins are allowed to be hosted, provided they are integrated into your userspace or the Skins article as soon as possible. We reserve the right to delete a skin without notice for not meeting this criteria within a short period of time.
18. Always sign your posts on talk pages with ~~~~.
A. If you see a comment without a signature, look into the page's history to find the username and date of the person who made the comment, then use the unsigned template to remind them for next time.
19 Things that are not in the game and have simply been thought up by people ("legends", hoaxes, religions, etc.) are not allowed. This is because they have nothing to do with the game itself and are primarily used by trolls.

Exceptions on these rules can be made, but only with permission from a Minepedia administrator.

Thank you for following these rules.
