Serious Vandalism

Ip is causing trouble in the wiki by adding html scripts on pages. This creates a big white box on the page and block users to read articles. I hope administrators can act as soon as possible and ban the ip address.

Version history/Development versions

I created Version history/Development versions old to store all the pre 1.6 stuff, updated Template:Version history nav to point to it, but because a new user, I can't update the version history file to exclude the previous history (which is quite understandable....)

So I'm proposing to remove the contents of the version history page which is now found in Version history/Development versions old...

- Red nnnno 18:14, 6 May 2013 (UTC)

As mentioned on the talk page, the problem with splitting it is that {{Version link}} needs to be updated as well, which is a nontrivial task. There is a planned MediaWiki upgrade (hopefully in the relatively near future) which will make this easier, so please try to be patient. -- Orthotope 18:39, 6 May 2013 (UTC) (talkcontribslogsblock log)

Why are you allowing malware?

"You must update flash player!" IT'S MALWARE! Why are you allowing it as an advertisement? The advertisements should be for restaurants or other buildings, or maybe for products. They should not be "shoot 5 ducks", "you are the 100000th visitor", "you are [town name]'s lucky winner", and DEFINITELY NOT MALWARE! Can you stop allowing malware advertisements? (There is more than one.) hotdogPi--t--c--QUIZ! 15:52, 14 May 2013 (UTC)

Wiki admins can't do anything about this; you should contact Curse directly if they're serving bad ads. Be prepared to give them screenshots of the offending ads, and the URLs they link to.
Also, I agree that Flash Player has plenty of issues, but it doesn't fall under the usual definition of malware. -- Orthotope 19:55, 14 May 2013 (UTC)
I assume he's talking about an advert that tells you flash player needs updating, taking you to a third party site with malware, instead of the adobe site. ultradude25Talk
20:27, 14 May 2013 (UTC)
Yes, that is a thing. Also attempting to serve malware directly through browser exploits. Sounds like Curse needs to have a little chat with their web-ad provider. --Mental Mouse 21:01, 14 May 2013 (UTC)
We investigate and take action on EVERY report of bad ads. If we aren't given specifics, it's very difficult for us to track down, so... if you experience a bad ad, please screenshot it, or at least make note of what the ad is for, and send us a report at contact@curse.com -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon.png talk 11:18, 17 May 2013 (UTC)

Weather368, vandalism on Item durability and Minecraft pages

Weather368 (talkcontribslogsblock log) has twice tried to randomly change the Item Durability tables, with no discussion or citation. New user, his only prior edits are to the Minecraft page, one of which has been reverted, but they all look suspicious after seeing their M.O. on the other page. --Mental Mouse 22:02, 16 May 2013 (UTC)

Next time, you should put the user template in the header. -- (T) Numbermaniac (C) 06:23, 17 May 2013 (UTC)
It does not have to be in the header, even though it's more consistent to report users that way. As long as the template was used, either in the header or in the post, it's fine. I removed your rather unnecessary comment template usage. Kanegasi C 06:31, 17 May 2013 (UTC)

Merge history?

I recently split Template:SchematicSprite/ids into Template:SchematicSprite/ids-basic and Template:SchematicSprite/ids-redstone because there were so many sprites or template calls on the page that it was getting hard to edit (multiple time-outs). Unfortunately, I created two new pages instead of creating one new page and moving the old page like I should have done, because now /ids is practically orphaned along with its history.

Can an admin please merge the history of Template:SchematicSprite/ids with Template:SchematicSprite/ids-basic?

I'd like to complete the move from Redstone circuits to "Redstone circuit", but Redstone circuit already exists as a redirect page. Could an admin please complete this move?

Also, the video at Redstone Circuits/video (note the slightly different path spelling from a previous article move) will need to be moved to "Redstone circuit/video".

I suggest banning all div tags (without blocking, just disallowing) for non-autoconfirmed users. --GreenStone (0x54; 0x43) 14:05, 30 May 2013 (UTC)
e: in addition, a "red button" filter for disallowing ALL non-autoconfirmed edits (usually disabled, enabled if there's a massive anonymous attack.) --GreenStone (0x54; 0x43) 14:10, 30 May 2013 (UTC)
We have taken steps to help prevent lemon spam, and it seems whoever was doing it got bored. Unfortunately, one of the protections we had resulted in the topic below. That will no longer occur, but there are still trigger words and things are being monitored closely for false positives. Kanegasi C 05:59, 1 June 2013 (UTC)
Does that mean that if an unregistered user type "lemon" or "fruitland", they would get blocked? –- (T) Numbermaniac (C) 08:14, 1 June 2013 (UTC)
No. As I said, it will no longer occur. Kanegasi C 09:07, 1 June 2013 (UTC)

Right to left writing

For translating wiki into Farsi (and other right to left languages) there are certain problems like wiki codes get misplaced or mixed with translated parts or we cant translate properly from English to our language because of left to right writing format this problems can be solved by having a right to left writing format in wiki so if its possible please add RTL writing format into wiki . Have you heard of full stops and/or commas? –- (T) Numbermaniac (C) 03:29, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
English may not be his first language, so cut him some slack. -- Anoymous712 12:48, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
There's a way to view any language in rtl, but I don't know if it's in this version of mediawiki. Without that, or an existing rtl wiki, it's not possible to know what needs to be done for rtl support. ultradude25Talk
12:51, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
MediaWiki 1.18 should have rtl support... but maybe the last part is impossible, it would be better to upgrade to 1.21, if possible. --Jeffw (talk) (contribs) 15:28, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
But no way to view English in rtl. ultradude25Talk
15:30, 9 June 2013 (UTC)

I searched and found something interesting in Directionality support of mediawiki... you can add <div dir="..." lang="..."> tag at page to make page preview rtl but still there will be problems because in source editor of wiki its ltr... there should be some addons for adding a toggle dir button to editor itself ... --Daenebris 16:31, 9 June 2013 (UTC) (talkcontribslogsblock log)
