This article would get more traffic with a better name[]
The page doesn't show up when a reader searches "Pets", and relevant pages (like the summonable pets themselves) don't link here. The game simply calls these "Pets," so this article should be called Pets (See MCD:Hunting Bow and related weapons). I only today discovered this page while gathering info to create the article myself. I propose renaming this page "Pet (summonable)", moving the MCD:Pet article to "Pet (cosmetic)", and redirecting "Pet" to a disambiguation page.——JavaRogers (talk) 19:20, 3 July 2022 (UTC) [Edited 19:22]
We typically put the disambiguating word in parentheses here on this wiki. "Pet Summonable" should be "Pet (summonable)". Either that or, Drour, you seem to be using summonable as a noun and pet as an adjective. Hmm... - Hmm... I agree the name fits with that, but perhaps they are not so similar? They have different sources (requiring an artifact vs. an inherent ability), and they behave differently (leashing to a master vs. roaming free). The boss-summoned ones are more like ordinary mobs Also, some enemies that spawn mobs are not bosses but powerful mobs, so I think a name adjustment is already called for on MCD:Boss Summonable. Continue this on Minecraft Dungeons talk:Boss Summonable#Proposed rename 7/3/2022.
- That said, I came up with "Pet (summonable)" because their official name is simply Pet, which conflicts with cosmetic/equipable MCD:Pets, also officially Pet; parentheses are the standard way to resolve ambiguous names on our wiki. If you prefer we do away with parentheses, however, perhaps we should name the two "Cosmetic pet" and "Combat pet" (or "Summonable pet").——JavaRogers (talk) 02:21, 4 July 2022 (UTC)
