This page describes content that is a part of the Howling Peaks DLC.

The Tempest Golem is a boss mob in the Minecraft Dungeons DLC Howling Peaks.

Appearance

The Tempest Golem is a colossal golem-like mob. It is made of stone, has a golden back, and has windmill-like poles. Unlike a Squall Golem, Its head is more square than rectangle, with a purple stud on its forehead, small eyes, and a big jaw. Jade banners can be seen hanging below the Golem's chin, and its front body possesses intricate etched lines and 4 jade blocks on each end of its body. Both of its arms possess giant gold swords with purple stripes going down the middle. The Tempest Golem also has a large purple button on its chest, which is covered by two jade-colored panels with a swirl symbol on them. These two panels are considered its shield, and it protects its large button with them, where the shard could be located. The golem appears to be 10 to 12 blocks tall, which would make it the tallest boss or mob in the game.

Story

Spoiler warning
Spoiler warning! This section contains detailed information about Minecraft Dungeons that may spoil your enjoyment of it. Read at your own risk!

The Tempest Golem was a Squall Golem that lived on the island where the Howling Peaks DLC takes place. When the shard of the Orb of Dominance came, it simply took control of it and now resides in the Gale Sanctum on top of a mountain. When the heroes arrive at the end of the sanctum, the golem awakens and attempts to fend them off, but is eventually destroyed, along with the shard.

Behavior

The Tempest Golem never moves from where it spawned, always remaining immobile similar to the Corrupted Cauldron. It has 4 different attacks. Additionally, attacking the stone pillars to deactivate the arms causes the Tempest Golem to become stunned, unable to attack or move for a few seconds. It also loses defense while stunned.

These attack names are conjectural; official names have not been established.

Melee Slash

If a player goes to either side of the Tempest Golem, it will smash the ground with one of it's sword arms, creating a small shockwave around it and deal some damage to the player.

Shield Attack

If a player goes in front of the Tempest Golem's body, it will quickly open it's two shield panels, dealing little damage and knocking them away. It then closes them shortly after.

Lightning Attack

Occasionally, the Tempest Golem summons a lightning bolt to attack a player. This is signified by a blue square on the ground which follows the player for a few seconds. After a few seconds, lightning will strike down on that square, dealing heavy damage.

Awaken Squall Golems

After the Tempest Golem is stunned and gets back up, two random Squall Golems from the back of the area will awaken and attack the player.

minecraft:dupe_hack is a joke item from Java Edition 23w13a_or_b.

Obtaining
Once the <code>dupe_hack_occurrence_chance</code> vote is approved the dupe hack item has a random chance of dropping whenever an entity with chests is killed by a player, e.g. when destroying a minecart with chest with a sword.

It doesn't appear in the creative menu, not even when the option "Operator Items Tab" is enabled, but can be given to the player with <code>/give</code> and other commands.

Usage
The dupe hack item can be used to create a limited amount of duplicate items by placing it on a crafting table with any other item. It has a random chance of breaking, controlled by the <code>dupe_hack_break_chance</code> vote. This limitation can be mostly bypassed by putting the items in an ender chest first and duplicating the chest.

When using the Dupe Hack, it has a random chance of breaking, which is often decided by votes.

Horse armor is a special type of armor that can be given to a horse to wear.

Obtaining
Chest loot
diamond-horse-armor

Crafting
}}

Only leather horse armor can be crafted; other horse armor can be obtained only from chest loot from some generated structures.

Trading
Expert-level leatherworker villagers sell leather horse armor for 6 emeralds as part of their trade.

Usage
Only normal adult horses can wear armor; foals, donkeys, mules, and undead variants such as skeleton horses and zombie horses cannot be equipped with armor.

Types
Horse armor has leather, iron, gold, and diamond variants. However, horse armor does not have netherite or chainmail variants.

Armor Stands
Horse armor cannot be placed or displayed on armor stands.

Protection
Horse armor can be equipped to horses either by manually placing it in its respective slot by pressing E while riding the horse (Horse Armor), or by right-clicking the horse with it.

There is a gradual increase in the defense given from a horse wearing the different types of armor. Note that golden horse armor provides more protection than iron horse armor, whereas the opposite is true for player armor.

When a horse dies while equipped with any horse armor, it drops its normal loot, saddle (if it had one), and the horse armor.

Leather horse armor protects horses from freezing in powder snow, but it does not negate other powder snow effects (e.g., falling through, inability to jump).

Durability
Unlike player armor, horse armor does not have durability. This means a single horse armor can be used infinitely unless destroyed.
Enchanting
Unlike player armor, horse armor cannot be enchanted in survival mode. However, java Creative mode, horse armor can be used with an anvil to enchant with Depth Strider, Thorns, Respiration, Feather Falling, and Curse of vanishing. Other enchantments can be applied, but they have no effect.

Dyeing
Leather horse armor can be dyed 12,326,391 different colors (using lone dyes or dye combinations) and put onto a horse to display that color. These changes can be reverted by using a filled cauldron with dyed leather horse armor.

Smelting usage
Piglins
Piglin are attracted to golden horse armor and run toward any golden horse armor on the ground, inspecting it for 6 to 8 seconds before putting it in their inventory.

Added model, textures and sound files for the Tempest Golem into the game, currently unused. Also added model information for a "Tempest Crystal."

Trivia

 • The Tempest Golem is the first DLC boss that does not use a theme owned by another boss and has its own track, as the Jungle Abomination and Wretched Wraith use the Corrupted Cauldron’s theme and the Illusioner uses the Evoker’s theme.
 • Since the Tempest Golem's origin is still very unknown, there is very little information about that, plus Mojang never showed a precise origin about the Tempest Golem along with the other two DLC bosses that have been corrupted by the shard.
