The "Obsidian Monstrosity" is the name given to a statue found in the Obsidian Pinnacle. (not a boss fight)

Note: the part of the level containing the statue does not always generate

It can be found under construction in one of the variants of the part of the level that generates the second main Redstone Golem fight. The Obsidian Monstrosity is its name in the game files, as it is not referenced in the base game. It seems to be a variant of the Redstone Monstrosity, but is larger.

Appearance

The Obsidian Monstrosity is a colossal, largely unfinished mechanical mob found in the Obsidian Pinnacle. Unlike the Redstone Monstrosity, it is significantly larger and is possibly powered by blocks similar to crying obsidian, found around its body. Its body also possesses more cracks unlike its redstone counterpart, and bears golden outlines and intricate square designs and layouts on its feet and its front body, it also possesses four eyes and three fingers resembling the block its being powered with. Noticeably, it lacks a right arm, possibly still being made.

Trivia

  • The Obsidian Monstrosity also looks identical to the Redstone Monstrosity's old sketch.
  • The cracks on the outside of the Obsidian Monstrosity, instead of being made of redstone like the Redstone Monstrosity, seem to be made of the Nether Portal block.
    • Upon closer inspection, these cracks are fully animated.
    • Because of the obsidian surrounding them, they bear a slight resemblance to Crying Obsidian.
  • It is rumored that the Obsidian Monstrosity will appear in an upcoming Nether DLC.
    • There is an Obsidian frame surrounding the statue, giving a hint to a Nether Portal. It also appears that it is under construction, which could mean that the Dungeons team is working on a DLC.
  • If the Obsidian Monstrosity was added as a boss mob, it could be more powerful than every other boss in the game. It could have more than 4 times more health then the Redstone Monstrosity, it also could have more health then the Mooshroom Monstrosity which has 2.5 times more health then the Redstone Monstrosity. It could use a Melee Smash which would deal 2 times more damage then the Creeper's explosion whilst Fireballs, fired from it's mouth, could deal the same damage as mines produced by Redstone Golems.
  • It's oversized head (not including the horns) is 64x56x32, the largest head created in Minecraft series (not counting the one in Minecraft Story Mode as this one is not made in Sweden).
