Artifacts are a category of items that can equipped by the player to temporarily summon pets, enhance or heal themselves, or attack and weaken mobs. The Player can equip three Artifacts at any given time. There are currently 34 known artifacts. This includes a single Unique, the Corrupted Pumpkin. All are obtainable except for the Totem of Soul Protection.
Obtaining
Artifacts are obtainable from the Mystery Merchant, Luxury Merchant and Village Merchant at Camp, during a Mission from obsidian chests and Piggy Banks, and when mission is completed.
Cooldown
Artifacts require a cooldown between uses - a period of time where they cannot be used, unequipped, or switched by a different Artifact from the inventory. Artifact cooldowns are independent from one another and not shared: equipping two Corrupted Beacons and using one will only initiate a cooldown on the one that was used.

Trivia
- Prior to 1.5.0.0, there were never any unique artifacts. This changed with the Spooky Fall seasonal event, and the Corrupted Pumpkin was added, making it the first unique artifact in Minecraft Dungeons.
- The Totem of Soul Protection and the Conduit are unused artifacts, meaning you cannot get them naturally in-game.
- The Conduit may possibly be obtainable within the release of the Ocean DLC
