Natural generation[edit]

Looms can generate naturally in shepherd houses in villages.‌[upcoming: JE 1.14]

Usage[edit]

Interface for the loom in Java Edition. (Placed White Banner And Black Dye)

Right-clicking on a loom will open its GUI. It has 3 slots for a banner, a dye and an optional banner pattern item. When a banner is put in, a list of patterns will appear at the center part. 5 patterns (or 6 patterns in In Bedrock Edition) require banner pattern items: Flower charge, Creeper charge, Skull charge, Thing (the Mojang logo), Globe, Field masoned‌[Bedrock Edition only], and Bordure indented‌[Bedrock Edition only]. Putting a pattern item in its slot will make the loom only show the pattern item.

Selecting a pattern on the list will show the preview of the banner after applying, if a dye is present. To finish, take the banner in the slot beneath the preview. The original banner and the dye will disappear from their respective slots, the banner pattern will not be consumed.

Change profession[edit]

If a village has a loom but no shepherd, any villager who hasn't already chosen a work station has a chance to change their profession to shepherd.‌[upcoming: 1.14]

Fuel[edit]

A loom can be used as fuel in a furnace to smelt 1.5 items.
