Impaling is a weapon enchantment that adds extra damage to each hit.
In Java Edition, each level separately adds 2.5 ( × 1 1⁄4) extra damage to each hit, to players and "aquatic" mobs only (dolphins, elder guardians, all fish variants (cod, salmon, pufferfish, and tropical fish), guardians, squids, and turtles, but not drowned as they are classified as undead). Works in melee and ranged attacks.
In Bedrock Edition, each level separately adds 2.5 ( × 1 1⁄4) extra damage to each hit to all players or mobs when underwater or while it's raining. Works in melee and ranged attacks.
