Ravagers can spawn starting at wave 2 as part of raids.
Up to 5 Ravagers spawn as part of a raid. Unridden ravagers spawn at waves 3 and 5, a ravager ridden by a pillager spawns at waves 5 and 7, and a ravager ridden by an evoker spawns at wave 7.[upcoming: BE 1.11.0]
Ravagers are hostile towards players, iron golems, villagers or adult villagers[upcoming: BE 1.11.0], and wandering traders[Java Edition only] within a 16-block radius. They attack by ramming enemies with their head, dealing 12 ( × 6) damage and high knockback. They can also destroy certain block types by charging into them.

If blocked by a shield while attacking, no damage is dealt and knockback is halved. The ravager has about a 50% chance to become stunned and unable to move or attack for around 2 seconds. After this period, it will emit a roar that deals 6 () damage and high knockback (which increases with proximity) to nearby entities.[upcoming: BE 1.11.0] The roar can knock back nearby Illagers without damaging them, and has no effect on other ravagers. The ravager does not attack pillagers who shoot at it, and does not attack evokers when evoker fangs accidentally hit a ravager.
Even though they are heavy, they can swim. Their apparent weight gives them 50% chance of 100% knockback resistance.
Upon death, ravagers drop 1 saddle.

- "Ravager" and "Behemoth" were listed as alternate name suggestions for the illager beast. In Java Edition 19w05a and Bedrock Edition beta 184.108.40.206, illager beasts were renamed to ravagers.
