Curse of Vanishing is an enchantment that causes the item to disappear on death.

Obtaining[edit]

Curse of Vanishing can be obtained only from chest loot, fishing, or trading for enchanted books.

Usage[edit]

When the player dies while a cursed item is in their inventory, it will not drop on the ground, but will be removed from the world entirely. The item will not vanish if it is dropped manually, or if it is placed in a chest before death.

The effect can be mitigated by storing affected items inside a shulker box, or by setting the keepInventory gamerule to true.

Curse of Vanishing cannot be removed by grindstone or a crafting table.
