Curse of Vanishing is an enchantment that causes the item to disappear on death.

Curse of Vanishing can be obtained only from chest loot, fishing, or trading for enchanted books.

In Bedrock Edition, this enchantment is available only via third-party software.[until BE 1.16.0]

Usage[edit]

When the player dies, the item disappears instead of dropping on the ground. The item may still be dropped normally.

The effect can be prevented by storing the affected items inside of a shulker box or setting the keepInventory gamerule to true.

Curse of Vanishing can not be removed from an item using a grindstone. However, the curse can be removed by combining it with another item in a crafting interface.(MC-158807) [until JE 1.16]
