Cooked chicken is a food item that can be eaten by the player.

Obtaining[edit]

Chicken[edit]

When a chicken dies while on fire, it will drop one cooked chicken. The maximum is increased by 1 per level of Looting, for a maximum of 1-4 cooked chicken with Looting III.

Cooking[edit]

Raw chicken can be cooked in a furnace, smoker, or campfire. Each piece of cooked chicken removed from a furnace output slot gives 0.35 experience (22.4 experience per stack).

Villagers[edit]

In Java Edition, apprentice-level butcher villagers have a 23 chance to sell 8 cooked chicken for an emerald.

Butcher villagers may give players with the Hero of the Village effect cooked chicken.

In Bedrock Edition, apprentice-level butcher villagers have a 25% chance to sell 4 cooked chicken for an emerald as part of their trades.

Usage[edit]

Food[edit]

To eat cooked chicken, press and hold use while it is selected in the hotbar. Eating one restores 6 () hunger and 7.2 hunger saturation.

Wolves[edit]

Cooked chicken can be used to breed and heal tamed wolves, lead them around, and make baby tamed wolves grow up faster by 10% of the remaining time.
