Namespaced ID

Bad Omen is a status effect that causes a raid to appear if a player is in or enters a village.

Causes[edit]

Cause Potency Length Notes
Raid captain I 1:40:00 If the outpost captain is killed.
Raid captain I–VI[note 1][verify] 1:40:00 If the patrol captain is killed.‌[Java Edition only]
All villagers die or all beds destroyed during a raid. I 1:40:00 Player must be within village boundary.‌[Bedrock Edition only]
  1. One level is added each time a patrol captain is killed, capping at level six.

Immune mobs[edit]

Only boss mobs are immune to Bad Omen; however, only players can trigger raids.
